   Food was not great. The pieces of lamb were fatty and hard to chew. Menu is overpriced vs quality and other neighboring Indian restaurants.

   After a trip to India, it is hard to accept New York's "Indian food" but Malai Marke got the standard dishes shining with real spices.

   We had a very nice lunch at Malai Marke. The food was very good. It was also very close to the theater that we were going to on St. Marks Place.

   I love the food at Malai Marke. First time I ate there was good. This time I felt like the wait staff were annoyed by us asking to wipe down the wet table, and to replace a glass. Didn’t make for the warmest vibe. Will go again for sure and assume this was a one-off. Will definitely keep ordering delivery!

    I knew the restaurant had to be good once I realized that it was in the same family as Sahib, Dhaba and Chote Nawab. I've been to all 3 and enjoy their food very much. I was very happy with the service and food at Malai Marke. It didn't disappoint! I'm lucky that it's close to my home whereas the other 3 are to my job.

    Never again. I have been eating at this restaurant for years, taken many friends here, and it’s my go to place to order Indian food for delivery. However, the way we were treated by the manager tonight, I’ll never be back. He was extremely rude and refused to seat us. It seemed extremely personal for some reason - we simply wanted to eat dinner and he refused to seat us, was defensive, rude, and walked away despite plenty of tables being open. Another employee seated us and he yelled at him, so we left. It sucks to be treated this way by a restaurant I’ve supported for so long. Went to Brick Lane Curry House instead, highly recommend checking them out instead.

    Amazing food and attentive service. They easily accommodated our large group of 12. My only complaint was that the restaurant was very warm, an open window would've gone a long way! I'll definitely be back!

    This is our favorite Indian restaurant in NY, and we have been there numerous times over the years. And we will go again. But I wonder if they can do anything to abate the noise level? There was a very loud party at the next table that made it extremely hard for us to carry on any conversations without shouting.

    My family has been eating at Malai Marke since it opened. It was instantly our favorite among the local Indian restaurants and we have eaten there or had delivery dozens of times. All restaurants have their ups and downs, but at the moment, based on our meal last night, Malai Marke is at a very high level. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious, spiced interestingly, freshly cooked. Even the samosas seemed more thoughtfully prepared. Breads, too, are excellent. We were really happy with our meal and grateful that Malai Marke is thriving during the pandemic.

    Food was ok but the waiters were rude. First they tried not to honor the reservation, later they tried overcharging for the dishes. It was really hard to call them everytime I needed something too. I left feeling pretty bad after my visit.

    The food was unique and delicious, but service was terrible! We were seated in the adjoining room, and had to keep getting up to find our waiter, which was a shame as that colored our whole experience.

    Went for dinner the other night. My friend is a strict vegetarian and asked a lot of questions. The waiter was very patient and helpful about what foods she could eat. We ordered the samosas (large and satisfying), the fried onions (delicious) and for my entree, rogan josh. I asked for a little spice, which it was, but not overwhelming. My friend ordered something with potatoes and really liked that. The staff were also nice enough to let us sit in the other room that was empty, even though it was late in the evening and they were looking to close up soon. It was much warmer in the other room. Would definitely go back.

    The food is great. Periodt. if you can swing by for the lunch special, it is good value, too. Otherwise, it can get to be a little pricey for a midrange lunch. Just my opinion, though. But very good food :)

    There were four of us for dinner. Lamb dishes were excellent (Lamb chops and Rogan Josh). One person ordered a vegetarian dish and was very pleased. The wine list is limited but I had an excellent Pinot Grigio. Overall, the food was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant.

    We compare all other Indian restaurants to Malai Marke. 'Nuff said. Usually. Most likely due to the pandemic, some things felt and were different. Service was slightly subpar even though we were the only diners. Food was good, but not what we remembered. Korma and pasanda were great, but the garlic naan which we typically salivate over didn't meet our expectations. Granted, it was still good, just didn't have that buttery, oily sheen to it. And we like our naan a bit puffy, not too crispy like it was, so to each their own. But back to 1st line. [edit a week later] disappointed - paid with card and I’m usually a generous tipper. Guess they felt it wasn’t enough and tacked on more so that the tip came out to almost 33%. Like, really? SMH Gonna have to shop around for that 1st line now.
