Great place with good food and pleasant staff! Location is perfect for visitors and locals alike to enjoy the beautiful uptown.
Wonderful customer service, and the absolute best sangria you will ever have!
The restaurante is pretty small but we had reservation so the seating was quick. The food was delicious! Was had the tapas style and nothing to complaint. We order sangrias and we didn’t get the second round, they added to the bill once we talked to them about it they were sorry and they took the charges off the bill. Mike was the guy bringing the food. He was okay, he would bring the food and he would say anything and he also would throw the plates on the table but you know it was okay, besides that everything was amazing.
The dining and bar space are very small and on a busy Saturday night the restaurant was too crowded for comfort. The waitress was good but was obviously busy and appeared rushed. The food was bland and unimpressive.
Stuck us in a corner after we had been waiting for 20 mins after our reservation. They sat a couple before us that had came in after us. Staff didn't seem to really want to serve us or take the time to explain menu. This was for Valentine's day but still they needed more staff. It was an awful experience.
First of all the Bacon Wrapped dates with bleu cheese were #1. The fish stew with seafood was super fantastic as well as the stuffed peppers. The service was something to be desired but the food definitely made up for it!
The food was delicious and very typical dishes compared to what we ate when we traveled to Barcelona. We will be going back any time we are missing Spain
This was the perfect place to go for our date. Great food, great ambiance, great service. What more can you ask for?
The food was excellent and great for sharing with friends. The servers were attentive but sensitive in not interrupting our conversation.
The food was very authentic. When we arrived we were greeted by a very rude man scolding us for being 4 minutes late (after we called to say we were in traffic). His attitude was just a big damper on a great experience. The wait staff was fantastic. The food was fantastic. Too bad we were talked down to before our evening even began. Other than the extremely rude man at the door that greets, we would highly recommend this restaurant.
Packed before Bocelli concert. Staff was takes to keep up. One offered dish never arrived.
The food that arrived was very good.
Absolutely fabulous!! Very authentic Spaniard cuisine.
Excellent tapas restaurant. I have been twice with a party of two and eight and service has been outstanding both times. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice and welcoming and the food is delicious and authentic.
Food quality was not as good as past visits and seemed a bit over priced. Bacon wrapped dates were great ! Good wine list was reasonably priced and service was good.
This place gets super busy! Really great food though. We just came here for dessert but couldnt resist also trying the peppers. So good!!
We ordered churros (dark choc dipping ones). Was crunchy and sweet. Nice vibes, friendly service.
Our food was delicious but our server Mike was horrible to my friends and I. He clearly did not want to take care of us and since he received a guaranteed 20% he didn’t have to. It was a little unbelievable and sad in this day to treat people with disrespect because we don’t fit your “preferred” clientele. I will not return and I will tell anyone who will listen the reason why unless this is acknowledged and addressed by this restaurant. Yelp has received several reviews by myself and my friends.
We had a light dinner, ordered three tapas for the two of us to share. Everything was delicious. The churasco was delicious.
Delicious meal, creative menu, happening spot, tres leches dressert is one of the best I ever had.
I am just about ready to change my dinning preferences to "valet parking restaurants only!" after the horrible experience trying to find parking for Malabar. Parking downtown Charlotte is a bad experience, regardless of the restaurant. The food was good here, but we were surprised that if you wanted paella, you had to order for two and it was an additional 35 minutes. In a Spanish restaurant. Strange. Our order was mixed up, twice, with the waiter bringing us other customer's food. We got it sorted out. Reasonable prices.
Dinner was good - my fish was a little dry, but had a good taste with the couscous and sauce. My friends chicken dish was tasty, but only had less than half a potato's worth of slices on her plate.
Although I realize this is primarily a tasting plate restaurant, but friend and I felt that the portions were very small for the $30.00 price tag. Maybe a paella on the menu for Queens Feast??
Went for restaurant week. Selections didn’t reflect authentic meals.
Enjoyed coming here for Restaurant Week. Overall I felt like the food (1st and 2nd course) were too salty which was true of my friends dishes as well. I had the Halibut, which was excellent, and she had the Ravioli for our main course. The tiramisu was fantastic! I also really liked my rose and thought it was a good value for the quality ($8 a glass). I’d definitely come back but will make sure to ask the chef to go easy on the salt.
Chorassco (skirt steak with chimichuri sauce and potatoes) was so delicious! also, carbonated lemonades and orangeades for those who don't prefer alcohol.
Excellent food! We shared many tapas dishes between two of us and each one was amazing! We will definitely return.
My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Malabar. Our server was very knowledgeable and made an excellent recommendation of the octopus. We would highly recommend to anyone.
Loved the atmosphere, but most of all the food tasted very fresh, tasty and delicious..just the right amount servings. The service was pretty good too-timely and friendly. My husband and I were very pleased with Malabar. We will definitely go back.
Malabar has a wonderful atmosphere. Very cozy seating with an amazing dinner menu and wine list. It's a great spot for a romantic date, or a business meeting. Rather close quarters so it can get a bit noisy, but not too hard to hold a conversation. The dinner menu took me back to Barcelona with both the fixed price for the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Definitely recommended for an accurate, traditional Spanish experience.
Great food and service. One of my favorites in Charlotte.
Excellent food and wonderful service. Always a pleasure.
Great food. Very attentive service
