Excellent food in a lovely setting woth great service! We love coming back here.

Once again Amal’s did not disappoint. We live in Lahaina and this is one of our go to restaurants. Sitting outside next to the ocean watching turtles swim can’t be beat. We even saw a few whales in the distance while watching sunset.
Our favorite appetizer is Ahi bruschetta. My Mai Tai was very good. We had the steak salad and pork shank and both were excellent.
Katie was our server and was excellent as well.

We have dined here before and really enjoyed it. They had modified things for COVID like everyone else, so we were seated in the parking lot. Prices had also gone up and we didn't get the complimentary roasted chickpeas. We ordered a 2 pound whole fish on a bed of rice and potatoes and sauce for $99. It sounded so good but there was hardly any meat on the bones and everything else just got jumbled together. We were a bit disappointed but enjoyed our salads and dessert. The waiter was also very helpful and friendly.

Ample outdoor seating next to the ocean. Well prepared and presented food and drink. We had spicy lamb pita, a flatbread, and Caesar salad. All were excellent.

Love Mala! We found this place last year and loved the food & small atmosphere. Wish we would have found it sooner!

Amazing brunch atmosphere. Sat outside. Following Covid rules. Great food and Lisa was fabulous.

We got to see our old friend Jose' and he waited on us. We loved that! The only thing about the noise was the ocean was crazy yesterday, but we had a great time and great food.

The moderate noise level was mostly the waves crashing. Wonderful drinks, food was excellent.

This was our first visit to Mala Ocean Tavern. There were 3 in our party, and we had a perfect table in a corner outside along the ocean. The service was prompt, but not rushed. Our server was very attentive but not hovering - just a nice balance of being there when needed. My husband had the burger and I had the stir-fry. We shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was the best preparation of the vegetable. I have ever had. the sir-fry was delicious, a nice combination of fish and vegetables in a medium-hot sauce. Excellent! My husband loved his burger and it acme with a nice serving of fries. It was our first visit to Mala, and we plan to have many more!

We are here in Maui on vacation and at the last minute we decided to look for a place for dinner. Mala came up and the pictures of the food looked amazing! Tim and I both love to cook and the interest and enthusiasm of our waiter and the owner about their food was so lovely to see! They were passionate about the food and their recommendations were spot on for us! By far in the top 10 restaurants we have eaten at! The oyster shooters were so incredible as was the ahi bruschetta and the seafood pasta...15/10!!

Staff and food all around great. Very pleased with service and all of the food was prepared very well. We went back today for lunch, in fact. Good stuff!

Our daughter is a vegetarian and the waitress was very kind and accommodating. Delicious fish for myself and my husband. Great wine that was also recommended by our waitress. Service was fast but didn’t seem rushed. Great meal!

This old school restaurant/bar has always been a favorite of locals and tourists, a tough balancing act lots of places on Maui have failed at.
Perched literally on the rock bulkhead of Mala Harbor, this place has consistently good food, interesting and well made cocktails, and a view and ambiance that are unique.
We’ve been coming here for 15 years and always have a great time. They still serve old standards like the Balinese fried rice but have amped up the veggies and protein and cut back the rice due to watching many plates come back to the kitchen with rice and potatoes galore uneaten. Great sensitivity to recognize “Why serve it if the guests won’t eat it?”

Awesome time!!! Even with out one year old. Our service was great and so was the live music!!! Nice spot right by the ocean as well.

We had such a special time. The food was delicious, the view into the harbor was gorgeous, the service was attentive without being annoying, and there was great live music (Sundays 2-4pm). Everything was just great. We wish we could go all the time but the commute from the East Coast might be a bit far ;-)

We were entertaining out of town visitors so I did not want to make a scene so I did not tell our server that there was a hair wrapped around one of the last Brussel sprouts on the bottom of the bowl!!! Of course, I did not want my entree but did not want to cause a scene in front of our sensitive out of town guests. When my main dish arrived I had already lost my appetite, I planned on taking it home since it was $40. There was not sufficient (if any)rice in the stir fry dish. The server shined his phone flashlight on my dish instead of just taking my word for it....awkward! Furthermore, when the entrees did come to the table the food runner slammed down the food like a greasy diner in the wrong spot, nor did we have small share plates when our appetizers came out. We have dinned at this restaurant several times throughout the years and has been a local favorite BUT super bad night! For the price I shall dine elsewhere in the future.

Super friendly and attentive service, amazing oceanfront dining and fish cooked to perfection! Mala exceeded our expectations and we will absolutely go back.

Food is always consistent. Kids eat free with an adult entree. I love the eggs Benedict.

Sergio the manager is the epitome of class & hospitality. Katie gave us the perfect amount of attention while still allowing us to enjoy our romantic dinner. This is why Mala is our favorite restaurant on Maui. Beautiful views & excellent food.

Great happy hour and enjoyable live entertainment

Excellent lunch in a lovely waterfront setting. We had the tuna bruschetta appetizer which was great. And then blackened fresh fish sandwiches for our entrees. Everything was fresh and wonderful. Nice friendly service and the setting can’t be beat. Highly recommend!

Celebrated New Year’s Day at brunch. Delicious and awesome open air dining!

AMAZING views, atmosphere, service and food! Have gone there a few times since being on Maui.
