There are views from every seat at MALA and many of our guests request oceanfront or patio seating. We can NOT guarantee outdoor seating, but we do note the request and will do our best to accommodate every guest. Celebrating my 69th birthday. Outstanding sunset view from our table. Our meals were delicious, properly prepared and served Hot! Service was excellent and professional. The busy restaurant was a little noisy. A minor inconvenience for the best dinner in Lāhainā!

Mala Ocean Tavern was amazing. It was right next to the water so we had the waves as background noise. The food was delicious! We ordered the scallops and the caesar salad witj kampachi for our entrees. Calamari for app was so good! It was cooked perfectly. The service was great. We never ran out of anything even though they were busy. Highly recommend it for a special occasion since it was a bit pricy but the location alone was worth the price!

This restaurant is amazing! All the staff are so friendly, their smiles genuine. I highly recommend you listen to their suggestions. And the food!! Some of the best I've ever had! I had the ahi tuna smothered in shitaki mushrooms. Delicious! Don't miss this restaurant!

We live here and this is one of my favorite, locally owned spots on the island. Their service, location and food is awesome. I personally think it's one of the best breakfasts you can get here. Sit outside because it's parked right next to a turtle sanctuary. So if you're not from here and wanna see turtles while you eat, that's the spot.

Have dined here multiple times over the past years. Food quality and service seems to have gone downhill somewhat after new management took over a couple of years back. Had the ahi bruschetta which was fabulous in the past and mediocre at best at present. He wok fried veggie dish was rather bland.

Nice spot for happy hour. Food and drinks were delicious. Outside had much better seating than indoors, and indoors was a little too loud with live band for the size of the restaurant, but overall a great experience! Coconut shrimp and makai tai’s are excellent!

We had lunch at Mala yesterday, both ordering the Mahi mahi sandwich. Our sandwiches were plain and nothing special, but the accompanying fries were very tasty. The plate did include some artichoke tartar sauce that was good, and the fries had some yummy chipotle mayo. So the accompaniments were much more interesting than the plain fish sandwich. Other than the meal, the service was good and the ambiance was ok although a bit too loud. Seating was somewhat cramped. All in all, we had a so-so experience here. We much prefer dining next door at Honu.

We’ve been to Mala for brunch many times. The brunch manager, Grace, introduced herself and checked in on us several times. She was kind, helpful and fun! Our waitress was exceptional as well! We always love the food and cocktails. The only reason for 4 stars was the temp of the food - it was very cold except the egg on the Benedict. Probably a fluke because it was a busy day! We will definitely be back - Mala is a favorite for us.

We have eaten at Mala Tavern 3 times...twice last year and once this year. The food is outstanding and so plentiful. We had the grilled ribeye and the ahi...both fabulous, and the chocolate bomb dessert is to die for. The service was perfect...our server Alex was not only delightful, she was very attentive to us. As an added bonus, the setting, plus a spectacular sunset was beautiful. Totally perfect dinner out!!

Calamari appetizer and Greek salad were very good, deep fried whole Opakapaka (red snapper) was OK. The way it was plated on top of the mashed potatoes with a medley of green beans, edamame, mushrooms, tomatoes and topped with pickled ginger was odd as all of the flavors tended to mask the fish as you removed and played it to eat. Serving the potatoes and veggies on the side would have been better.

This meal was phenomenal. The food was delicious, elegant, perfectly balanced and cooked (we tried virtually every appetizer and all but one of the seafood entrees). The staff was attentive, offering a superb and high level of service. The ambiance and restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent cocktails. We believe you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
