   Good scenery. Food and cocktails were nice. Taro bread/butter and ahi tuna bruschetta were great. Server was nice but service slow. Serve made up for this with comped ice cream for our daughter. Would like to have late nite items available for dinner i.e. wings.

   Once again, outstanding service and most enjoyable food and presentation. Our kudos to server Bjorn who delighted us with local Hawaiian lore and was on top of our requests at all times. Also a cheer for sommelier Sergio who was an encyclopedia of wine knowledge and recommendations for the perfect wine with our dinner.

   My favorite restaurant on the West Side by far! I’ve dined here at least 20 times and they truly nail it every single time. The ingredients are always super fresh and the dishes are flavorful and innovative. The ahi bruschetta and the spa day cocktail are two of my favs! 10/10 recommend!     We like doing happy hour when we are on Maui and Mala Ocean Tavern has a good one. We had oysters, lamb pita, calamari and Caesar salad. We finished with a chocolate bomb for dessert. Everything was good. There was live music which was nice. We love the location right on the water.

    Best restaurant we have had the pleasure of dining in all week while we are here. Outstanding customer service all around—hostess, wait staff etc. food was delicious and local flavors made the dish. The Hawaiin bread appetizer is the bomb! Highly recommend and it’s on the ocean. Not a golf course!

    UNBELIEVABLE! Not only was the cuisine superb, the Staff at Mala was wonderful, fun and knowledgeable. The seaside location can't be beat - rainbows to the east and another beautiful Maui sunset to the west. Mala was simply delicious all around and has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants! Kudos to the entire Staff!!

    Our server was very friendly and attentive. The weather was iffy (strong winds and showers), so it was hard to hear. We very much appreciated offering the traditional Thanksgiving meal earlier than advertised. The food was good with very generous portions.

    Seaside spot with character. Wonderful food, delicious cocktails and incredible service. We went for Thanksgiving brunch and even had the opportunity to order a traditional style holiday meal even though it wasn't on the brunch menu. Mahalo!

    MALA Ocean Tavern is extraordinary, meaning "remarkable" and "out of the ordinary". An amazing location that is literally right on the ocean (any closer and you would be soaked). For the brunch we enjoyed, we received excellent yet friendly and down-to-earth service that was matched with top level cuisine.

    We had one of the best meals we have had anywhere! We shared the seared scallops with risotto, sweet potato rolls and the Hawaiian sampler dessert. Excellent service. Champagne to toast our anniversary along with a beachside table. Wonderful!

    It was below average. We had been there in March and both the quality of the food and the service had declined significantly. I won’t go back.

    Love this place. The staff is AMAZING. Very friendly and accommodating. Service impeccable. The food is tasty for both brunch and happy hour. A good variety of small plates for happy hour and a small but excellent brunch menu. Haven’t had dinner yet but will give that a try soon. Highly recommend for a great dining experience.

    Food at Mala Ocean Tavern in Lahaina was wonderful. Several of us had the fish of the day, which was Mahi mahi. It was so flavorful and fresh. Wish I could eat it every day. We sat outside on the patio and if you want to be close to the water, I don't think you could be any closer! Great outdoor waterfront ambiance with the waves crashing in front of us as we ate!

    Service was outstanding. Our catch of the day was overcooked and 1 was sent back and replaced w Mahi Mahi , moist and perfect. However, none of us liked how the fish was placed on mashed succotash. Would be better on rice or orzo. The brussel sprouts, calamari and shishito peppers were fabulous.

    Always amazing, Mala continues to be one of our top choices in Maui. We understand the county is considering removing the outdoor seating area. Huge mistake and would be a shame and a mistake. Good luck to Mala in that needless battle.
