    Mala Ocewn Tavern continues to impress. I have reviews Mala over the last 8 years and still co sided it the best dining experience on West Maui. I typically come here with my work colleagues and always enjoy the food the camaraderie of the staff and the beautiful ocean setting. As mentioned in previous reviews, many restaurants would rest their laurels on the fact that they are sitting right on the ocean. Mala Ocean Tavern is dedicated to offering you attentive service, excellent food value, and a true aloha dining experience. I brought my family here for dinner celebrating my son’s 42nd birthday. We were treated warmly, and the service was especially attentive. The pork shank and scallops and risotto were great. The appetizers which include included bruschetta, poisson cru, coconut shrimp and hummus were all delicious. I highly recommend eating family style so you can sample all the dishes. The cocktails were wonderful. Thank you Ingrid the manager for making my son’s birthday dinner so nice. John, John and Carlos are wonderful servers. You can’t go wrong by coming to Mala Ocean Tavern for a True Maui dining experience. Mahalo Mala. Dr. Tom

    Portions were small and poorly seasoned. The kids meal were larger than the adult meals. Beautiful location.

    Our server was not very good. Rare at Mala, but true yesterday. He was pushy about ordering our entrees when we ordered pupus. I gave in, though my companion didn't. My entree came before I had finished my pupu. Not by much, but I felt it was rushed. When my companion was ready to order his entree, we had to wave the server over. Though busy, the restaurant was not full and seemed to have a full staff. When he brought the check, he didn't offer me the kamaaina discount, either. I decided against asking, because by then I felt leaving was better. I checked the screen for a printed receipt, and we waited. Ten minutes later-I waved him down, and asked about my receipt. He said ""Oh, it didn't print". I guess he saw I wasn't happy-he suddenly offered to go look again. He returned and claimed it had been caught up in the machine, though it wasn't wrinkled at all. The food was excellent as usual. Perhaps someone can persuade this server to slow down and be more aware of his guests' "vibes" and wishes.

    Amazing experience. Server (didn’t get their name) was fantastic. Made us feel very special on our honeymoon, with great recommendations. Food was very good. Oyster shooters, who brushetta were great starters. Scallops and seared ahi main dishes were to die for. Affagato dessert with a shot of Baileys capped off a decadent meal. View of the ocean with sea turtles popping their heads out was incredible. Everytime my wife saw one, I could see it brighten her day and add a few seconds to her life. Would highly recommend to anyone making a trip to Maui.

    Mala was fantastic! We went for brunch and the food was delicious! We sat on the outside patio overlooking the water. Service by Kate was great. She was attentive and helpful! Definitely recommend visiting, as Lahaina is still recovering from the fires and needs tourists to visit!!
