I am a regular customer of Makoto, but I have to be honest about the significant changes I have experienced. Especially in Service, the servers are desperate to make you leave the restaurant, although half of the tables are empty. After you eat, they ignore you, and if you dare to order an after-dinner drink, they get upset. The food also is not the same quality as before. Finally, there is " no space" on reservations, or if you walk in without one, find out when you sit and eat half of the restaurant is empty. I used to love this place, but it's not the Makoto I used to love.

Always great experience at Makoto! Great food and amazing service. My husband is vegan and they can accomodate vegans with appetizets. Main dish (veggie fried rice) and lots of veggies from robata Grill.

I was a little disappointed when i received my drink. I was never informed that there would not be a bubble on the top of martini. The machine was broken. I would have ordered another drink. Presentation is everything. I been to Makoto’s many times. Also the food service was terrible. Everything seemed to come at one time. We had to ask to take food away, no room on table.

The entire experience Hector with his team deliver at Makoto is spectacular. The sushi is the best in South Florida. The ambience is a timeless elegance. Love the vibe - a chill yet upbeat atmosphere. This is my favorite restaurant in Miami!

Service was rushed and unfriendly. Our waiter wanted us out of there as soon as we sat down. Did not care to answer any of our menu questions adequately. Food was mediocre at best. One of the dishes we ordered was overly salted, and the other had to be sent back as it was not what we ordered. I expected a higher quality dining experience in Bal Harbour; this one definitely fell short.

I’ve been there before and it’s been great. For some reason last night everything tasted super salty. I had to send one dish back. I was too embarrassed to send other dishes back. Hopefully next time will it be better.
