   We were at Makoto for my mom’s birthday celebration and enjoyed every bit of it! Everything was perfect to say the least! From the hostesses who sat us at a very cozy corner table to the attentive waiter who was taking an exceptional care of us to the food that was phenomenal! I’ve been to makoto several times before but this time definitely topped it all! Will be returning!

   The bento box is a wonderful item that’s offered on the lunch menu- a real bargain at $25! All their dishes are yummy and very artistic. And the cocktails are very good too. My favorite Japanese restaurant!

   I simply adore the sushi spot for its outstanding service and scrumptious food. Every time I visit the restaurant, the staff is always polite, attentive, and eager to help with my sushi selections. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the dishes are always served with impeccable presentation. The sushi rolls are fantastically flavorful and always freshly made, leaving me with a satisfying taste that lingers on my palate. It's a true pleasure to dine at this sushi spot, and I can't wait to come back for more delectable dishes and amazing service!

    Makoto is my favorite sushi restaurant! I LOVE the food, the severs, the environment… It is the type of restaurant that you already know from the top of your head the name of the dishes you love! I was craving Makoto’s wagyu beef hot stone, rock shrimp, corn, sushi and yaki noodle (my favorite us the wagyu fried rice). Can’t wait to come back this weekend :)

    Much bigger premises than before. The increase of tables results in longer waits for the plates to arrive at the tables. Very accommodating staff. Quality still good.

    Food was great, only disappointment was that I booked a full 30 days out, requested outdoor seating in notes on app, and they don’t honor. We were told it was at least another 30 min wait for outside seating

    Our lunch was absolutely delicious and the server was outstanding. She made suggestions, answered questions, was patient and attentive. We loved the bright and colorful interior. The patio was pretty crowded and noisy so we were happy to sit inside where it was a little bit more quiet. We loved our experience.

    I must say that something has changed in Makoto’s kitchen..chicken dumplings are not as good as they used to be(meat inside hard like a rock and juicy and dough was too thick), Brussels sprouts not crispy and very oily and chef’s sushi are not fresh enough. This time my husband and I were really disappointed with our meal at Makoto. Also it was very strange that some old guy with a cane was walking around, was staring at people and interrupting their conversations during their dinner, creepy and weird..

    I love this place and we go there all the time, however the service this time was not good. The waiter just didn't seem like he wanted to work. We asked him at the beginning to split the bill for one of the couples at our table and he said ok however at the end of the meal he brought one bill and told us to just split it. Thought that was very rude. At this point nobody wanted to pick through the bill for 8 people so we just split it and the waiter decided that he would put more on my bill than the others since they were paying with a gift card and their gift card had a limit. He took the difference that was still due and put it on my bill without even asking. Really rude and in my opinion should be fired. The food is always great. I did notice that the prices have increased which makes the meal a bit overvalued. I know prices of goods have gone up but it seems that restaurants take this opportunity to increase their prices by a lot more. Nevertheless, still a great place!

    Delicious sushi. Miso sea bass - too much souse, too sweet Koji Wagyu strip - tough Whole Cauliflower is tasty. The server didn’t cut it for us and didn’t bring us any silverware to cut it into smaller pieces; we had just chopsticks I was expecting tastier food from this restaurant. For this price, it is a lot of other restaurants with better food

    We are Makoto’s frequent client but the experience today wasn’t good. Very smoky inside with fries smell. Not the same menu as dinner and signature dishes not available, such as tuna pizza.

    Moved to the second floor of the Bal Harbour Mall, was not impressed with the decor. I found that the previous space was decorated in accordance with the chic Japanese style of an elegant sushi bar. The decor here was in a peachy Floridian beach restaurant.
