Great food great service and the best manager Jorghe!
Food quality was amazing, drinks were very good, would definitely come back
Great food good atmosphere and good service likes always.
Amazing! Crispy Brussels Sprouts were unlike anything ever. I’d been thinking about the Watermelon ceviche all week - it did not disappoint. The grilled avocados were delicious, but more than we needed by the time we got to the A5 Wagyu steaks. Unreal and worth every cent. Great service, nice ambience.
We would love to have branzino for our lunch, like before 🙏🏻. The rest is fantastic! 😍
Table was ready at reservation time. Our Server Anthony was FANTASTIC! He truly made our first visit here amazing. He made some menu suggestions, we tried them all, and loved everything! The food was just so good.
Anthony kept our champagne flowing and our water glasses full and kept checking on us. We will definitely come back here when back in Miami.
And……back before we head back to Texas. Asked for Anthony and he is just amazing!!!
The food at makoto is always great and I enjoy going every time. Service was a bit disappointing this time, as the 2nd round of drinks took nearly 30 minutes to arrive and were incorrect (even when we asked the waiter he assured it was the same as the first -despite this being untrue) a replacement drink was made, but did not arrive until the meal was finished. Overall, still a very good meal and we’ll still return!
Everything as always, was perfect. Miso Sea Bass, crispy
Spicy tuna, and wagyu tartar were on point.
Great cooked items...good sushi when we have a hankerin' for some...totally outstanding service. We look forward to lunching here again and again...thank you!
The food was incredible!!! Everything fresh and very tasty! The service was amazing! We had a Puppy with us and he couldn’t be treated better!
Me and my wife really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here! Very friendly staff. Great food! Would definitely recommend!!
Food was just Ok. Wines are too expensive. $140 for $29 Craggy Range Sauvignon Blanc. Our waiter was absolutely on point. Very attentive and informative. His name was Elias.
The food was phenomenal. The food selection and presentation were absolutely amazing. I look forward to returning in the near future.
El lugar y la comida son inmejorables! Excelente opcion y la relación precio/producto es muy buena. Altamente recomendable!
Flavorful ! We like to sample different things on the menu which is always amazing!
Drinks took 20 minutes to get there. Waiter spilled food on me twice.
Brought out the wrong order twice.
Food was chain restaurant mediocre and way overpriced
This might simply be the best restaurant we have ever eaten at, all of the food was top notch and cooked to perfection.
Amazing love it.
The sushi and sashimi sampler a real treat
35th birthday celebration. Good and service were impeccable
La comida nada especial , buena pero nada en el menú sorprendente , lento lento , y porciones súper chicas , caro y sin gracia
This was a restaurant I was looking forward to for a while, but we must have come on an off night. We sat down and ordered wine and an appetizer. The crispy chicken dumplings were great but the red wine was disappointing. They keep the wine so chilled that the glasses frosted and there was little to no character left in the wine. We sat there with an empty appetizer plate an empty glasses for at least half an hour before a different server finally came over and took our entrée orders. Then it took about another 45 minutes to get 2 noodle dishes. Even though I was starving at this point, the chicken noodle ramen was very disappointing and bland. Neither of the dishes came out hot and it didn’t even taste like there was salt in my dish let alone any other veggies or seasoning (it was literally only chicken broth, ramen noodles, and a little bit of chicken meat sitting in the middle). We sat there with empty plates for another 30 minutes until we finally got the check. We felt completely forgotten about and neglected for the whole two hours, and the food wasn’t even worth it. We ended up going to another restaurant later just to try to save the night. I doubt we’ll be back, especially considering there are 2 other great restaurants there.
Very nice location, we sat outside by the fountain, great ambience. Good service and good food. It's not outstanding by it hits the spot. Prices are very reasonable.
A bit pricey for lunch, but always such a wonderful treat, with so many great flavors. LOVE the whole Branzino, which they were nice enough to provide for lunch though only on the dinner menu. Sashimi salmon and eel were both better than anywhere I’ve been in the world. The roasted avocado and eggplant were spectacular, and they have the best Brussel sprouts. And I greatly enjoyed the freshly brewed green tea in that marvelous stone pot — not to mention the green tea ice cream, also the best anywhere. Service was particularly friendly, (waitress Helena was exceptional), completely accommodating in every way. Missed the beef dishes this time, but will catch them again on the next visit. Wish there were more than just two of us, so that we could have yet more dishes and more tastes. Lunch was a delight - and there was a lot more table availability than Open Table showed on its site. Few restaurants in South Florida offer this level of quality, with such wonderful variety, each dish tastefully presented, and each delicious.
The food was awesome and satisfying food temperature when presented to the table was great.
Honestly, Makoto lost it's modern-chic vibe it used to have. In the past I was willing to drive 40+ minutes all the way to Bal Harbor just to eat at Makoto and have the unique experience. I was willing to pay 100+ dollars there. Now I feel like the food was just overpriced for an avarege, sloppy sushi. Makoto has downgraded and it is not worth the drive.
Very good food, poor service compared with quality of food and prices.
Disappointing system with reservations: people at the entrance not helpful, almost impossible to book a table in advance and if you go there are plenty of tables empty.
Hard to get in touch by phone.
Should improve considering the quality of food and fantastic location.
We sat in the inner courtyard, which was lovely. Service was so-so which is on par for Miami Beach. Several times I had to request more water in my cup. Additional cocktails were not suggested and had to be requested when glasses had been sitting empty for sometime. The food was pretty good, although not as mind blowing as I had read in reviews. Food was priced accurately. Overall, a lovely restaurant with decent food, but I would not go back.
The food 10/10 super yummy and fresh
We first tried to go a month ago, when we called there were no reservations available but we were encouraged to show up anyway. When we came, they said it would be 2 hours wait but without guarantee, essentially encouraging us to leave. We made new reservations, really looking forward to come back last night. Unfortunately, they were out of many items, especially our top 2 things we waited for (No oysters, No crab). Probably out of other things too, but they wouldn’t make it obvious. Instead, they’d wait for us to order and only then say it’s out. Two very disappointing evenings. My review is generous because we did have a good experience when we first went there a few years ago.
It was almost as good as always. One of the plates that we ordered was way overcooked (fried spicy sushi rice) but the rest was great. Superb service.
We were outdoors in the courtyard
It was great except for the mosquitoes!
1. Three items out of six we wanted to order were not available
2. Size of portions become very small
Excellent food and service, the waiter was very attentive and gave great recommendations from the menu.
Makoto is always good, but has become difficult to make reservations for. We'd go more often if we did not have to reserve so far in advance. However, the food is excellent.
This is the cleanest restaurant in Miami. My husband and I take a lot of precautions against catching Covid. We asked for a table outside dar from anyone else and we got it. The menues are printed on paper and after each use , they are being discarded. Waiters use gloves and change them often. The food and especially the service is impeccable. Always a pleasure to dine here.
Muy rico pero pequeñas las porciones
Amazing as always
