Makimono Sushi Bar & Restaurant- Airport

We visited this place because of it's high reviews and we hadn't visited this particular sushi restaurant before. Staff were friendly enough but didn't come back very often to see if we needed anything. We waited all the way until we finished our appetizers before we were asked about our mains.

We did not go for the buffet, and ordered à la carte.

Food was good, I didn't like the sushi pizza we ordered as they used tempura bits to cover the sashimi on top of the pizza. There were also a lot of tempura bits in the sushi rolls.

Maybe because it is generally all you can eat they use tempura bits as fillers to make the food stretch further and people fill faster.

Nothing major to complain about, but wasn't particularly impressed.

I've enjoyed the food but the service was spotty. Our table got very good service but our friends at the other table were not happy. Service was slow and there were some missing orders. It is also a bit pricier than other All You Can Eat Japanese restaurants. I also want to point out that the 15% service charge was based on the food + tax. Service charge should only be added on food and drinks orders and not on top of the tax. But I am still giving you an Very Good rating overall.

The food was good and the speed of service was well.Only issue was a small hair in one of the sushi's that had been ordered and providing a replacement fork with a plastic fork to eat with my last dish

Food as always was superb. Only reason I give it a 4 and not a 5 is the constant forgetting of at least one item. With your order being submitted through iPad, it should at least be accurate. Without fail, each time we’ve been here, there’s been at least one item forgotten that needs to be reordered. Other than that, great place to dine! Service is normally with a smile. Food is always fresh and tasty.

The food was delicious, all fresh and tasty, the worst part of our dinner for 4 persons was service, the waiting time for sushi, sashimi, noodles, was really long and we order lot of food waiting for previous orders, waitress was just RUDE, not just normal service they throw the food on our table instead of serving us with culture, the worst happened when I paid the bill and don’t give the tip, because I was disappointed about service, the waitress ask me why I didn’t include the tip? I ask her if tip is mandatory she said that now she need to explain to her manager why I didn’t give her a tip? I was totally in shock that waitress ask me that question, I wanted to talk with manager of this person to explain her rude behaviour but my wife stopped me. Never again I love sushi and sashimi but have to find other place, don’t recommend to anyone even if food is delicious and I was customer who back from time to time to makimono sushi.

My go to place for bentos and sashimi’s, the prices went up and my friends noticed that the shrimps are not as big as before. The Staff are just wonderful and amazing though, I recommended this place for quality and affordability but now that the prices went up I am not sure if I can recommend it as most people going out is a treat.

We've been here several times the last couple of years and always enjoyed ourselves.

Very rude server (her name was Leona if I recall correctly.) They charge for leftover food, which is listed on the menu, but we missed it when we looked at the menu the first time. So we agreed to the charge and asked for the bill. But even after we agreed to the charge, she insisted on trying to prove how it's listed on the menu, bringing me a menu to show the note, instead of my bill. So I said "I understand and I don't need to see the menu, can you please just charge me and get me the bill." She then proceeds to throwing the bill at me 😂 She needs to learn customer service and keeping her cool. Yes, I missed the note about the leftover charge, so I agreed to a charge. I don't need a menu shoved into my face with "proof."

Tell people that after 9pm the buffet is not available

Terrible servicio, hicimos reservación con OpenTable y se tardaron media hora en sentarnos, las meseras tenían mucha prisa y aventaban la comida. Es un lugar para ir a comer como cerdo el buffette “all you can eat” les urge que te vayas. Pedimos a la carta y fue un desastre

Enjoyed our celebratory dinner at the restaurant. Food was very good and our servers helpful.

Rolls were Jumbo size making it impossible to eat. Wished I was given tea pot with hot water instead of just a glass. Staff was good and environment as well. Food came out quickly

They do not serve their All You Can Eat Menu during Anime North, which is the last weekend in May, but that is not posted anywhere. The reason we chose this restaurant was for All You Can Eat, so that was very disappointing that they do not tell you it's not offered until after you've sat down. Wish they were more communicative about changes to their menu for special events. Otherwise, food was good!

This restaurant is advertised as an all-you-can-eat restaurant. It was not. Apparently since it was a busy weekend they decided to cancel it because they could make more money. Food was average. Definitely would not recommend it to anyone, and am definitely not going back. There's two other sushi places within walking distance, better off going there.

Swamped with the Anime North crowd, but still good service and excellent food.

Clean, good food, good service. I went for my birthday on a Saturday night. I ordered from the all you can eat menu and left extremely full and satisfied. For a group of 2 we paid roughly $75.

Was nice but felt rushed to leave. But it was Saturday night and busy so I understand.

Overall food was good. The Salmon sashimi was excellent as were the hand rolls and maki rolls.
Service is just ok. The restaurant seemed very loud but not in a good vibe way.

If you've never had sushi before, this is the place to go. The reason: you don't know what good sushi actually tastes like so you would think this place is great. It tastes like they add water to the soy sauce in order to reduce costs. Their beef cannot be chewed because it is so tough with sinew. Oh, you order through an iPad whose screen hasn't been cleaned in 5 years. Other than all that, it's not a bad place. It's just not for me.

Great, convenient location, yummy sushi, great servers. Lunch menu for AYCE sushi was good. Price for lunch was a bit much, but probably because of its proximity to the airport.

The service was awful. We were a group of 11, using two iPads to order food. None of it came to the right area, and orders were incomplete, and some never came at all.. The Sashimi at lunchtime is a joke.

Took a while to be seated. Not busy when we arrived.
