We’re a diverse team of makers — baristas, bartenders, chefs, mixologists, roasters, distillers and brewers — who came together to create a neighborhood place we all need.
It’s a place that brings people together morning, noon and night. A place with crazy delicious food and destination drinks. A place to grab a crave-worthy bite on the fly or to hang awhile with a book and coffee. A place to brunch with your besties or happy hour with your work crew. A place to roll solo with your laptop or roll deep with your family and friends.
It’s a place for you. It’s a place for us. It’s a pub for the people.

This was a very late birthday celebration and our waiter was awesome! Food came out perfectly and even got free dessert with a happy birthday on it completely unexpected!

Sadly our experience fell short of what I had high hopes for. I was so excited to check out this new restaurant in our beloved Reston Town Center. We had dinner on Mother’s Day, and they were overwhelmed with a combination of their late brunch crowd and a special day. The kitchen couldn’t keep up. There was a lot of waiting (at many tables) for appetizers, meals, and drinks. Aside from being Mother’s Day and they were unusually busy, a few things still stood out. A bathroom stall was “out of order” and one of the remaining 2 did not flush and both were dirty. Appetizer (calamari) and the Mac n cheese were both lukewarm/cold-ish. Mocktails were overpriced for being poorly made. Rockfish was delicious as was the ceaser salad. Service was understandably under pressure, but VERY helpful and kind. Beautiful decor. Unfortunately the average food for the price will prevent us from returning.

Maker's Union was very busy as it was Mother's Day. Waiter was awkward but efficient. My daughter and I both ordered the ribeye medium rare. My daughter's steak came back medium rare and mine was more on the medium to well done side. Informed Maria, who said she would remove my steak from the bill, which she did. I was disappointed that my food did not come out as I had ordered it.
The restaurant was also very very noisy, which made having any conversations difficult.

This was our first time there. We had reservations at 4pm on Mothers Day. When we arrived we were seated immediately and a waiter came soon after. Shortly after we placed orders for appetizers. After 35 minutes we stopped a gentleman (I believe was one of the managers) and told him. He displayed concern and then 10 minutes later the appetizers came out. Our dinner came 15-20 min after. During the time the manager provided great service and kept apologizing. He removed the appetizers charge off our bill and also said he would give us another 20% off our total bill for the long wait. However, during this whole time our waiter never once acknowledged how long we had to wait, rarely checked on us, never apologized, etc. It would have been the least he could have done even if it was the kitchens fault and not his (we weren't entirely sure what happened). We would probably return because the food was excellent. But if we return again and have service like that again, it will be our last visit.

I had been here two times before and had a great experience. I was so disappointed. We ordered cappuccinos. And they were so bad and not at all cappuccinos but only coffee with milk. Then my brunch scramble was so bad. I had it before and loved it. This time it was watery and the potatoes were cold. Hoping this was just a one off bad experience.

Food was OK for brunch. Asked server to hold our order so we could enjoy the monkey bread. Long wait, then everything came out at once.

Would be nice to have more “mock tails.” Only two were on the menu, three if you count peach tea. Realize it’s a pub, but would be nice and more welcoming if they offered more nonalcoholic treats.

Good was great, I had been before and the service was definitely lacking this time, maybe because it was a bit more crowded than previously but I’ll definitely ALWAYS come back. My server came by maybe 3-4 times and I had been there over 2 hrs. But the manager came over and had great customer service explaining that monkey bread would take a while but I wasn’t in a rush so it was all fine.

Great brunch! Monkey bread was amazing and servings were generous. The potatoes need to be smaller and crispier and the scramble was fine but not exciting. Bacon excellent and eggs benedict yummy. Looking forward to going back!

My husband & I had THE BEST first experience on this past Friday 04/30.

We came for brunch and our waiter was soo attentive, friendly, & very helpful. He made sure we were taken care of the ENTIRE time.

We can’t remember his name but he was tall, African American, & worked in the far corner of the restaurant closest to the servers station.

(We asked him if he knew any hookah lounge spots in the area & he volunteered to ask around for us)

Please keep him!! He’s great!!

First time trying Makers Union; chose outdoor dining. Food was great, service good, too. (Food arrived promptly, although they seemed a little short on wait staff.) I got oysters on the half shell and a lobster roll, which were both really tasty to me even though we're in VA and not Cape Cod. The brussels sprouts appetizer was really great, too.

Loved the brunch at Makers Union! We ordered a la carte but we'll be back to try their bottomless brunch for just $30/pp. So good. Bottomless mimosas are $17 + $0.25/refill!

So just for base level details - this place has some delicious food, delicious drinks, and great service. We had a brunch reservation that was seamless from start to finish, plus we were able to have our dog hang out with us on their patio. Highly recommend the bottomless food option for brunch, especially if you’re with a group.

Now, here’s the real deal...if Connie, one of the owners, is there...you better be hungry. Homegirl was sending extra food to our table, giving our dog a pup-friendly brunch meal, and overall guaranteeing we were having a good time. Her personality is infectious and she has such a huge passion for her restaurant. Honestly, I kind of want her to adopt me.

Finding places in NoVa with a solid menu/close-knit team double whammy is rare. I will absolutely be back here and I can’t wait to see what else Makers Union has in store!

The food was great! They feature local Virginia distilleries, breweries, and farms. Our server David was amazing, knowledgeable, polite, attentive, and great with recommendations. The place and staff were clean and actively cleaning the entire time - felt very safe and comfortable there. We’ll definitely visit again soon.

My wife and I had dinner at 7pm on a Saturday, our first time at the restaurant. We dined outdoors, which was pleasant enough even with cars stopped constantly despite no parking on that side of the street. (There was also an obnoxious drunk woman talking way too loud at the next table, but that's always a risk when dining out.) The signature cocktails were nothing to write home about. The calamari was excellent but covered in an aioli I didn't care for. The server brought some more with a marinara sauce. My wife's crabcakes were good. My hangar steak, ordered medium rare, was way overdone.
