The subtly lit French oak paneled Bar greets you with booth banquettes and
tables amenable to serve Jacques’ Bar Menu, all day.
The Club Room; its coffered ceilings and fireplace create familiarity in the comfort
of a warm elegant home.
Both the Lounge and the Bar menus offer spontaneously prepared French delicacies, savory and sweet with distinct Mediterranean and Moroccan influence.
“Majorelle” restaurant; its vaulted ceiling, marble columns, and trellised garden with up-lighted fountains set the stage for fine French Cuisine and Service in an atmosphere of harmony and luxury for all the senses.
Food is fabulous as it the ambiance. One small criticism,, service was rushed. We were there to relax and before we even ordered drinks they served amuse bouche,,, waiter kept pushing us to order.
Beautiful French restaurant.
Efficient staff always appears at the right time.
Food is the star.
First time at this establishment. Good food and service. We will definitely be back
Excellent in every way!
The absolute best restaurant in all of New York City!!
The best restaurant with the best atmosphere in all of New York City!
We had a wonderful evening!
Outstanding ambience, food, and service. Always a special spot for an excellent dinner. Will certainly return and recommend without hesitation.
Excellent food- creative cuisine - beautiful space.
Excellent traditional French haute cuisine professionally served in an elegant room with superb lighting, tasteful floral arrangements. Good wine list. A first rate
and welcome member of New York’s restaurant assemblage. Lunch and dinner
are equally well presented in this well located spot, close to Central Park and Midtown Fifth Avenue shopping. Whether you are a local looking for a romantic restaurant setting or a first time visitor learning about American hosted European food, you will be pleasantly surprised at the
good value found here. Highly reconmended.
Among the best restaurant experiences in NYC
Beautiful restaurant; impressive fresh flowers in the foyer, the dining room and the individual tables. Informed waiters, attentive without over doing it. The food is just OK. The oysters and endives were bland: the halibut special was perfectly cooked as was the Dover sole but there were no memorable flavors, sides or dressing. Your palate is left waiting for that special wake up.. the soufflé was undercooked and basically not edible. The sauce that came with it was completely blah.. The pear tarte was also ordinary. The place has all the accoutrements it needs in order to be successful, including that rare human element, but the cuisine needs to find more personality. Otherwise the expense is hard to justify and could easily be spent elsewhere..
Absolutely exceptional in every way. Warm and knowledgeable staff, impeccable food and lovely ambiance. Can’t wait to return!
Perfect place for anniversary dinner. Great food and even better service.
Majorelle and Charles Masson never disappoint. It is not just because of the exceptionally delicious food, but because Masson has created a dining experience that is of the highest quality. The ambiance is pure elegance and beauty. The Dover Sole is divine.
Fine dining and service in one of New York’s most elegant spaces
Too wonderful. When you enter you are greeted with the delicious aroma of the Lillies. Then more flowers and more beauty. Visually gorgeous. The choice of the price fix is very clever. I never eat desert and so I chose the 2 course meal. My husband chose the 3 course meal since he loves desert. The menu is varied and there are many choices. Of course the food is amazing as is the service. All in all it is a perfect experience. I can’t wait to go back.
All of the characteristics of a top top restaurant - fantastic food, beautiful setting and top-notch service. Pricey but wonderful for that special occasion!
Such a lovely and elegant place, but understated. Went here for an impromptu dinner the other evening. Specifically, we were seeking out a place that was quiet enough for conversation, but also where the food would be exceptional and we got it all. I've been dying to try this place for awhile as I've been here several times for drinks and/or tea (upstairs). The Lowell is a gorgeous hotel and all of its dining/drinks venues live up to the task and Majorelle is certainly no exception. If you are looking for a lovely, elegant, and subdued evening, Majorelle fits the bill. It's also worth noting that the waitstaff are so lovely and attentive. Be forewarned, it's a bit pricey, but worth it for a night on the town and a splurge.
Everything about our meal was exceptional. All the dishes we ordered were phenomenal and the service was outstanding. They were very attentive without being at all intrusive. I was there with my parents for a birthday celebration, which they somehow realized and surprised us with a festive dessert!
The restaurant is beautiful and decorated with amazing flowers..drinks at the lovely bar and then a superb meal served at just the right level
Food was fabulous! Service was great and atmosphere was sleek sophistication.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff was very warm and welcoming. The food was beautifully prepared and served. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant again soon.
5 Star service accompanied by 5 star food!! The foi gras terrine and seared were impeccable. Would definitely come back!!
As always, impeccable service, highly creative menu, dishes are beautifully executed; since it opened, it has been our clear favorite for upscale dining in NYC
Wonderful lunch although with the pricing I’ll only be able to go back for special occasions
My favorite spot for entertaining. Flawless service is unusual but Marjorelle has it
Very attentive waiters, gorgeous flowers, beautiful setting, delicious food! Loved it all! Great for a birthday celebration:)))
I write this review with mixed emotions, My wife and I have dined at most, if not all of the leading gourmet restaurants in New York as well as many elsewhere. Majorelle is outstanding by any measure. The ambiance, the menu selections, the service, the food preparation are all superb. We have dined there several times and each experience has been extraordinary by any standards.
The "mixed emotions"? We wish Majorelle all the best, but I am concerned that this honest review does not prevent our continued desire to dine there as frequently as we desire.
excellent overall experience starting from transition from the street to the entrance to reception to the assigned table to the discrete but attentive maitre d' ; presentation and quality of food, the actual reason for going to any restaurant, ranks among the best, in my experience, from NYC.
Price quite high but you get your monies worth throughout the time spent there.
Luxurious. Spectacular ambiance. Perfection.
Impeccably clean. Every single thing to meet the eye is harmonious.
Service impeccable, formal yet friendly.
Way over priced. The steak tartare was boarderline inedible, filled with a mayonaisse sauce made it sour. (What are they thinking?) The waiter practically jerked the plate out from under the hands of my dining partner while she was buttering a last biece of bread, leaving her wondering what to do with the bread and knife in her hands before the first course came. It was truly breathtaking. Her cheese souffle was, at least, wonderful but came with with asalad and sauce that left us both puzzled. Way too many misfires at this late date.
Beautiful, very good food and excellent service. A little expensive for the bang!
One of the best meals we ever had. My appetizer was a snapper ceviche - beautiful and delicious - with grilled toast that made the dish perfect. Then I had a veal scallopine that was the BEST veal I have ever eaten - tender, delicious. Dessert was a chocolate souffle, yummy. My wife's salad, which I happily sampled, was made with crisp Romaine lettuce leaves filled with chopped cucumber and herbs - she loved it. She loved her fish. She loved her wild strawberry dessert. The next time we are in NY, we will dine at Majorelle. Our primary waiter was French and my wife, who is also French, communicated with verve. It is expensive ($122/pp for the meal), but worth it.
Went there for the ambiance and was happily satisfied. Ask to be seated in their garden alcove if daytime. It was light, airy, green, and most of all quiet. Beautiful.
This is my favorite restaurant in NYC! The whole place works perfectly. It looks beautiful and the food and service match it. It is a fancy as restaurants used to be. Nothing casual here if that’s what you like. The four gras was as good as Paris. The whole roast chicken for two was juicy and highly recommended. There are so many waiters that you never wait for something to happen.
No surprise Majorelle surpassed our expectations. We were a party of five, cared for from the moment we stepped into the bar for a drink to the moment we left after dessert. Food was excellent! We ordered dorade, vegetable tajine with harissa, and the steak au poivre. We had the sense every component of each meal, down to the roast potatoes, was custom-prepared especially for us. Add to that a fantastic wine list, gracious service, and a very elegant dining room you get a five-star experience by any measure. So well done!
