Maiz honors the corn as one of the most important and traditional ingredients in Latin cuisine, providing a whole new experience to the guest with products made out organic corn locally grown.
After working in Europe and some prestigious restaurants in Toronto, Chef Fernando combines healthy food with a delicious and unforgettable experience.
We seasoned our offerings taking things a little beyond the obvious.

1. So loud! 2. The food is SO SALTY! we were brushing salt off it was so bad. 3. A bit expensive for what you actually get. 4. Our server was inattentive, had to ask for refills, sides, etc. 5. Will not be back.

Went to Maíz to celebrate my birthday and the food was fantastic. Our server was super friendly and we can’t wait to go back!

This is my second time at Maiz. The first time was at the Junction location. Ambiance The space is cozy, mood lighting and dark furniture. Cool artwork on the wall. Overall style is what you see in most taco joints around the city. In both cases I first noticed how tight the seating was. Perhaps 2 inches between some tables. When we were directed to our table we actually declined and were lucky to wait an extra 10 minutes for a new table that had more surrounding space. The staff was fine with us moving around. Food I had their pulled pork plate- Bandeja Paisa -It was delicious and well priced. At the junction location I had tacos. Chicken was dry but the pork and beef were good. Drinks Their specialty mixed drinks are on the sweet side but have beautiful presentation and are tasty. Service The food came in good time. The servers were friendly and accommodating. There are a lot of servers, yet we kept having to ask for our water refills - tiny glasses. You always hope for attentive service when you eat out, I think. I hope this helps.

The service here was slow and disorganized. We had to ask multiple times to get any servers' attention, and we didn't even know which one was ours by the end because so many different people had come to our table. Our bills were all wrong and had items on there that none of us had ordered.
