Maison Pucha Bistro
I haven't been to this place in awhile. They changed the menu a little and it was wonderful. We had good cocktails. Whiskey Manhattan was delicious- I love a bartender who doesn't kill it with sweet vermouth and bitters. We had the table side Cesar salad, which was almost perfect - I ordered more anchovies - but I'm a weirdo who loves them. They didn't have my favorite coq au vin- but omg. I had the chicken Fricassee, and it was truly an amazing array of spices. Saffron and turmeric and the chicken was falling off the bone and bursting with flavor. I already want some more. I have had roast chicken almost every where in the city. This place is ok the top now. So glad to see a neighborhood doing good food and doing well.
Our server was amazing. He spoke about each of the dishes offered and convinced us to have desert which was mouth watering .
The food was delicious and came out fast.
Glad we picked this place!
Great place to eat in the Heights. Beautiful restuarant and terrific drinks.
Fish and seafood was excellent and always enjoy the soufflé for dessert.
It was quiet enough for good conversation and our waiter was excellent as well.
Terrific lunch! My SIL had the fish special of the day and she really loved it. I had the shrimp cerviche (really good) and the Thai chicken salad (superb!). It was pricey ($40.00 for the special and $32.00 for my two items) but it was a special occasion. Something to be aware of - they bring a bottle of Pellegrino ( $7.00) to the table immediately and ask if you'd like some. If you don't really care what type of water you want, ask for tap.
Food was amazing for brunch definitely get the empanadas
Our meal took over 45 minutes to make and my steak was over cooked. No one from management ever came by to say anything. Extremely disappointing considering I had a big bill.
Really enjoyed this place its our third time , you must try their deserts !
We had brunch at Maison Pucha and the presentation, food and service were all wonderful.
Not a good Valentine Dinner spot-
Overall, the food was good and the ambience was OK, but, was not at all romantic. Most of the tables were right next to each other so a private conversation was not really possible. Also, it wasn't that crowded yet the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed as the service was not that great. Spending $240 with no alcohol seemed a bit much for what we got.
My wife as nd I like the food presentation, flavor, detailed preparation, nice desserts, new dishes every two or three months full of surprise, the nice combination of food and desserts. Great attention by all the restaurant team, even we got visita from the Chefs. We will. Is it soon.
Popular dinner service. Excellent relaxed ambiance and very good food which is clearly derivative of the previous connections to 'La Table'. Great presentation of entrees, sides lack real imagination. Souffles not particularly notable. Very fair value for food and drink. Online menus still not available.
Perfectly cooked and artfully presented food paired with half price bottles of wine make for a perfect date night restaurant. Wonderful late birthday dinner! We enjoyed Prosecco with warm yummy bread, Caesar Salad hand tossed tableside, Seafood Bouillabaisse, Trout Almondine, and an amazing Chocolate Soufflé. Service is friendly, personable and impeccable. The Brothers Pucha should be very proud of the outstanding establishment that they have built and the amazing food, bread and wine list that they have curated. Bravo!
Food was good, kitchen was screwed up and took long time between orders, Got bouillebaise ( sp) but no bagette for dipping. Waiter told me kitchen told him they were "too busy to toast bagette", restaurant was about 1/2 full so waits would have been interminable if more customers were there
Brought our friend for birthday dinner and it was outstanding. Special dessert with personalized service. Keep up the good work!
As always, the food was delicious and presentation brilliant and the service was impeccable. Can't wait until the next dining opportunity there.
We attended for my birthday dinner and our waiter wasn’t very attentive. We were seated at a table near a high traffic area and had to flag down people for help. I noted that the waiter for the table next to ours was much more attentive and engaged. The food was as I remembered, the cheese plate was great, I typically do not like blue cheese but this cheese plate had a divine selection of blue cheese. For a main course I had the duck (my favorite), another guest has filet mignon and another had steak frites. We enjoyed our main courses. The waiter asked if I wanted to order dessert and I said yes - he says well the soufflé takes 12 minutes so if you want it let me know. I let him know but wondered why he asked as the reservation said birthday which usually means a dessert (right?). At the end of our meal, the pastry chef brought the chocolate soufflé which was delicious and said happy birthday, which was a nice touch. Over all the food was great, the ambiance was okay - table was super loud next to us and loudly discussed their intimate affairs - sigh - the dessert was divine.
We arrived at 5:30pm and left at 8pm. 24.00 for a tasteless Cesar salad. Table side not even made the true way. The steak with grn peppercorn sauce was weak. The sauce tasted like licorice. My chicken came-out lukewarm. The bus help kept taking away dishes and drinks before we were done. The waiter was a amateur. He never came to check on us. We left without ordering any dessert. To pay 179.00 for fair - poor service and not great food is a big disappointment. Not a polished operation.
Excellent bouillebaise, fish was tender and not overcooked. Octupus appetizer was tender and a large portion unlike at many restaurants. Brut champagne from Alsace was very good as was the stellar tokaji.
Creative Ecuadorian brothers making French food, is a winning combination in this place. Went to HH and loved it, took my husband and we have all the night specials. It was one of the best dinners we’ve ever had. Service is great, ambiance beautiful, food amazing! It’ll be one of our favorite places for special occasions.
Really fantastic food!!
This was our third time dining at Maison Pucha Bistro. We took friends who were in town from Dallas. They and we loved it! The food is fantastic!
Excellent food, the ceviche is always excellent and did not disappoint on this visit. The trout main course was very tasty. We took guests who had not visited the restaurant before and they considered the meal one of the most enjoyable they had had in Houston. Service was also excellent.
Overall, delightful. Excellent fish dishes of Salmon and trout, with tasty sides! The Onion Soup was good, not inspirational. The only disappointment food-wise, was the celebrated table side prepared Caesar salad, just blah, needed some pep. Server, has been there since the inception of this enjoyable restaurant, and all service was first class. They needs to coach their bar tender on how to really make a cold martini with ice on top. (either sitting too long after shaking, or more-likely, too quick on the shake).
Overall, will keep coming occasionally, and hope the community will support this dining style!
We were celebrating a special occasion and had a large party. I asked if we could have a table that would give us a little privacy and they really delivered! We were seated in the wine room. It was beautiful, the service was top notch the food was fantastic. Great experience!
Mushroom ravioli and soufflé were unique and outstanding!
Did a little brunch hopping in The Heights and finally gave Maison a try. I was not disappointed. Deciding on the three course brunch was a great idea. I had the beef empanadas, the french toast, and the creme brulee. Not too much that I was stuffed, and not too little that I left starving. The bellini options were better than any place I've been to. The lychee bellini was probably my favorite. Great portions. Great flavor. And the service was even better. I will definitely be dining here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Service we as excellent. Food top-notch. We will definitely retrun. If you are like us and enjoy trying places around town, Maison Pucha Bistro is at the top of our list. You will not be disappointed.
If I had one suggestion for them, it is to add Savignon Blanc from New Zealand. Why they do not carry a single Savignon Blanc from the worlds #1 SB country is beyond me. Other than that, put Maison Pucha on your list.
Maison Pucha always delivers gorgeous, perfectly cooked food. We had the business lunch special with the trout, brick chicken and shrimp and grits. EVERYTHING was plated beautifully and was delicious!
Great place for lunch - good service and excellent food
Great food. Great service. Overpriced for the location and ambiance.
This is not just the best restaurant where I've had a meal in Houston, it is among the best restaurants where I have eaten anywhere.
We went there for our weeding anniversary to find a great surprise! Food was great as well as the service! It will be a repeat with special people in our lives!
Lovely atmosphere wonderful food French/Latin fusion. Awesome service
Love this restaurant. Our waiter, Anthony, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Recommend this restaurant for special evenings in particular.
If you’re looking for an outstanding, carefully crafted meal with a beautiful presentation, Maison Pucha is the place to go. And Sunday night is very quiet (for those with hearing issues). It is more vibrant for brunch or Fri/Sat nights. And of course the chocolate soufflé due is not to be missed (but all of the desserts are also fantastic). From many visits, I can recommend the watermelon salad, kale salad, duck l’aronge, steak frites, salmon, trout, and scallops. Basically whatever appeals.
Nice place. Interesting food with a twist of French/South America.
I really wish I had more good to say. The waiter either had something going on, personally, or he was just terrible. The food wasn’t great. In fact, Of the many French restaurants in Houston, it rates near the bottom.
Went for New Year's Eve. Had a 3 course prix fixe menu that looked good but was better on paper than on the plate. One of the dishes had a single boiled and peeled whole potato as a side. For the price charged, we expected outstanding but got ok.
Excellent food great service portions could be a bit larger esp the duck. Mashed potatoes amazing! Beef short ribs very good.
