Maison Pucha Bistro
We love MP, oysters are in point & the Wagyu tatare w/quail egg was great. Probably our 10th visit, be back soon. Wednesday is half off wine, go.
Maison Pucha Bistro was FABULOUS. It was my birthday; I chose the place, and my daughter treated. The salmon ceviche was superb, the coq au vin was great, seafood risotto was outstanding, and the chocolate soufflé was out of this world. We also shared a superb bottle of Chablis which was 1/2 price since it was a Tuesday. Wines are half-price all day Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. The restaurant is especially beautiful also, and we and our husbands will going to dinner soon.
What presentation! What taste! What service! This is the best restaurant that I've tried in ages. Will definitely return. Was there at lunch and it wasn't noisy or too crowded. Will definitely return.
Food was flavorful! Delicious! Staff very attentive. Will go back. There was a private side room that was beautiful and set up for a private dinner. Will remember this place for a special occassion dinner party.
Everything was outstanding. Wish I could give them more stars!!
Nice mix of French and Ecuadorian food. Great service. The scallops were great
Good food, beautifully presented. The 4 of us enjoyed our salads. The coq au vin, pork cheeks, and market catch of the day salmon were very good.
Was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Went for lunch with a friend and found wonderful special options as well as many delicious items on the regular menu. The fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everything was perfection start to finish. !
Impeccable cocktails by Rico. Service could be more attentive considering the prices. Outstanding menu
Terrific meal! Joy was a “joy” to have serve us!
We arrived Friday night (2/1/19) party of 4. Many things went wrong that night. Our waiter was one of the worst servers I have ever had. He took our drink orders for some cocktails which took a while to get those. My friend ordered a split of champagne which server dropped off bottle at the table unopened and did not bring her a glass with it. When we ordered our food waiter took orders for two of four at the table left to go to another table for service then came back to our table to finish taking the order. One of the sides ordered was truffle mashed potatoes which had to be sent back as they were plain mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the Callos De Hacha which was described as jumbo scallops and corn grits. The dish was served with small scallops and barely any grits. (which was why he ordered that dish). My friend ordered two bottles of wine for table which took 10-15 minutes to arrive. We told waiter that was unacceptable which he offered no apologies. One mistake we should have spoken to manager on duty as to the deplorable service we received and that food did not meet acceptable standards. I never write reviews but this was incredibly subpar considering the amount of money we spent for prices at this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. The duck special is a sublime experience! Best french onion soup in town. The chocolate soufle was delicate and delicious!
Food was excellent, as was the service ...
Food very good. Service is finally up to par with the food quality.
Easily the best restaurant in the Heights! Top 5 in the city! Delicious food...beautiful presentation and Waylon is a fantastic waiter! Thanks for a great evening!
Meals and dessert were excellent, but the bar orders were flubbed several times.
This wonderful French restaurant is consistently wonderful. We will return!
It was great! The food was all very good!
We dined at Maison Pucha Bistro on our 20th anniversary. We were there on a rainy Wednesday night. Not crowded and mercifully, quiet. The food was beyond excellent and we hit a sweet spot in the timing as we got a half price bottle of wine. Jack was our waiter and he was terrific as well as knowledgeable. It's so nice to see places like this in The Heights. We hope The Heights community as well as other Houstonians will support this gem.
My first time at Maison Pucha and was very impressed. A beautiful restaurant. Service and food were excellent. A great restaurant! Highly recommended.
I drove 2.5 hours to Houston for an extremely important lunch date only to find that the restaurant was hosting an "audition" for a band. They played for a full hour and it made it impossible for me to hear my date. The venue was WAY too small for that noise level and I NEVER would have booked it if I'd had any idea the band would be playing. I made my feelings clear to the hostess, the bartender, and the waiter, and while they did ask the band to turn it down, it didn't make much difference -- the band should have been asked to leave and frankly, should not have been there in the first place just for an audition. This lunch date was incredibly important for me, possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience with an extremely special person, and the band put me and my date in a sour mood and absolutely ruined the first half of my date.
The overall experience was amazing.
Yum! The food at Maison Pucha is DELICIOUS! WE were a group of 4 each ordered a different entree - each entree was beautifully served and so tasty. I definitely recommend the trout almandine which many places is so-so, but at Maison Pucha, it is fantastic. Another person in our group raved about the moist, tender duck. The foie gras appetizer - always a favorite! A happy ending - the black and white soufflé was the perfect complement to this wonderful meal.
Lovely in every way!
We had a very average New Year’s eve dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant itself looked great. Very inviting with lots of celebratory balloons. They offered a four course meal that included surf and turf. Appetizers and dessert were very tasty. Steak and lobster - ah, not so much. Both were overdone and the steak was tough.
The server for our table was overworked. Granted, she didn’t have to deal with any menu options for the evening, but she had too many tables and twice we had to search for her just to get basic refills.
It’s really a shame, this restaurant is near our home. This is twice we’ve gone in and had a very average experience. Houston’s restaurant scene is way too competitive to be satisfied with “ok” (like the commercial). We’ll drive a little further to get a better meal next time.
Went for half price wine happy hour on NYE. Awesome wine selection. Kitchen was closed so we weren’t able to sample the food.
Excellent! On our first visit, the kitchen produced one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had...Maison Pucha Bistro has made it into our top 5 all-time favorite restaurant list! Now we plan to try their brunch and hope to provide an equally glowing update of their mid-day cuisine.....
EXCELLENT service and food!
Outstanding food. It is clear the chef is classically trained. Always an enjoyable meal. No hoopla just well prepared well served food in a lovely spot.
Had a great meal as ususal and the services was perfect.
Beautiful presentation of all courses. I dream of the mushroom ravioli.
Christmas Eve dinner was amazing. Every course was special and the service was excellent. A special place!
We didn't know what to expect from a prix fixe menu on Christmas Eve. The owner and chef certainly know how to make an impression. All of our four diners thought this was one of the best meals we have ever had! I really can't put into words how exceptional the food was presented and tasted. Every course just kept getting better, ending with their soufflé, which was definitely the best dessert ever. My husband and I are not chocoholics, but we were licking the spoon over this dessert.
Waylon, our server, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, and even had the bar make a special cocktail for me.
Truly a lovely evening.
Great service and food was exceptional! I recommend trying the seafood appetizers, very delicious.
The food and service were excellent on a Saturday night. The scallop entree I had was exquisite as was the white and dark chocolate souffle. Salads were generous (enough to share) and interesting. Although I had only one glass of very good Sancere, the wine selection seemed to match the quality of the food. Maison Pucha is a welcome French fine dining, albeit pricey, addition to the Heights, which has plenty of casual dining options.
Great meal. Soufflé was out of this world
Great time and amazing food! Thank you to everyone!
I took my nieces out to lunch for doing well on their first semester of college, and we had a wonderful time. the food was outstanding, and the service was super professional. they both really enjoyed their meal. the Ceviche is worth the drive and I will be craving their soufflé. will definitely return :)
Very good preparation
Loved the menu items
Definitely worth a try
