Great food as always. This is our number one spot when we get the chance to go out and eat.
The menu is limited, but the food is excellent! I had the wild mushroom gnocchi and my boyfriend had the duck. We'll definitely go back and try something else! Seating is a little crowded, but that's part of the farm-to-table atmosphere.
We had a wonderful dinner Saturday night. We were lucky to be seated at the chef's counter which was a great treat. We were able to stay late and finish our wine which was much appreciated.
We had a delightful experience at Maison. The employees were helpful and friendly, the food was exceptional and the ambiance was cozy French country style. It is quite expensive but the experience was worth it.
I enjoyed the small space dining. The noise level was loud making it difficult to hold a conversation. The food was good, but over salted.
Food combinations were unique and delicious. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The food is expensive, but the presentation is lovely, and the food is fresh and perfectly prepared. The fact that you can bring your own bottle of wine helps save on cost (despite the $6 corkage fee). I see this as more of a special occasion restaurant than everyday dining, but we plan to try it again over the summer when there are lots of fresh local ingredients available.
Maison is best described as a wannabee " French" restaurant whose employees deceive themselves into the false belief that their chef's cuisine is extraordinary. In fact, it is a pretentious shallow American restaurant with very ordinary cuisine, which serves moules that are insipid and that serves gnocchi that have more salt than Morton's mines. It doesn't even provide menus to its guests. The service does have some of the well-known French condescension, so at least there is a fiber of the true France at Maison. In short, the restaurant is staffed by a host of "poseurs" and I would never ever recommend it to anyone who was born in France, like me.
Great first time experience. Open table told them only 2 people but I had reserved for 5. Open table and maison were not in coordination. Luckily we were able to be seated.
Still a good choice in Lancaster especially if you were never there in past. The food has been a let down since Luca opened. Service is still outstanding but food no longer blows the mind.
Great Food and Service - Quaint location - servers were able to describe meal selections and make recommendations to each diner's tastes.
The food and service was wonderful as always. It is always a tough decision as far as what to order but the kitchen never disappoints. Ask if you can have some of Chef Matt’s famous chips to take home.
Another wonderful meal at our favorite place!
Attentive and friendly service.
Everything we had were top notch! A true farm to table restaurant, for sure! Loved the play in different textures and flavors that all came together so well. Making my next reservation now!
My husband and I don’t get to have an evening meal together very often, so when we do, we want it to be memorable. Our meal far exceeded our expectations. It was fun, inventive, delicious, etc etc etc. IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED! Thank you for an exquisite date night.
Noise level was annoying. Such a small restaurant packed with people is very close proximity meant I had a difficult time conversing with my wife in anything but a loud voice.
Food was tasty and service was very good.
Really great food and service; cant wait to go back!
It is a very cute little place in an old rowhouse. They staff was super nice, very friendly. The menu is limit to five entrees due to the size of the kitchen. The food was good. The appetizer was very good - a house tartan with goat cheese, bacon and pears. The prices are high. We enjoyed it but probably would not go back due to the high costs.
We had a great dinner. We wanted to go closer to Valentines Day but seating was limited and did not match our schedule. We had a starter and the main meal paired with BYOB of our favorite wine!
We had the most enjoyable evening and the food was absolutely delicious. It’s one of favorite places to dine when I am in town!
Delicious tartine for our app, split the duck breast which was AMAZING, and the BEST CAKE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE - the Basque cake. I have had this cake 2 times and it is still the best dessert I have ever eaten. We will be back again and again.
Awesome dinner I can’t think of one thing that could be better
We enjoyed warm, kind, unrushed service and a delicious small plate followed by entrees with distinct, well-paired flavors.
Maison is simply THE place to go for a special night. This visit held true to that. Great servers, great menu, great food. What else do you want!?
Absolutely wonderful experience - marvelous food and great service. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had received a gift certificate for Maison from a dear friend at Christmas. We enjoyed the experience immensely and will definitely return. The food was fresh and hot and delicious. The service was friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive but not overwhelming. We had appetizers and entree selections and we were so pleased with the presentation and flavors in all. Desert was delectable as well. A little pricey but a real treat for sure. Casual, comfortable atmosphere was most appreciated as you must feel welcome and comfortable or what’s the point! Will return many times over.
Maison lived up to the hype. Friendly and comforting service and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful night out on Saturday. Our food was incredible and timing between courses was perfect. Service is always good with everyone working as a team. We totally recommend the roast duck!! Yummmm!
Early Valentine’s Day celebration. I love the select menu offering unique items and wonderful preparations. The restaurant is quaint, but a little tight. We will definitely be returning to Maison in the near future!
My wife and I have had the good fortune of enjoying fine meals at some of our nation’s top-rated restaurants, but when it comes to choosing our favorite dining spot, we only have to travel a few miles from our home.
Maison is a world-class restaurant. It continues to be our favorite spot for special occasions in our lives. Unbelievably savory food, fresh ingredients, attentive service and awesome presentation.
We went for a special hard cider pairing prix fixe menu. Outstanding food and generous portions! I would definitely come again for one of these. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Lancaster.
True 5 star. We plan on returning. The best of Lancaster.
A nice night out for my wife’s birthday. Short menu of small plates and entrees. The duck breast and bouillabaisse were delicious.
Amazing! Fun experience mushroom gnocchi amazing! Make reservations ahead of time. I haven't been there for a while because I was forget I have to make a reservation. Best food in Lancaster!
We have visited Luca several times but this was our first time at Maison. Wow! Two of the top restaurants in Lancaster (and we are blessed with many great ones)!
The food is absolutely excellent and the service is great! I would highly recommend this place to any visitors.
We were looking forward to a very special dinning experience at a 5 star restaurant. Food was ok at best. Price is inflated. Vegetarian options- forget. Seats uncomfortable. Menu on board behind you and very limited. Extra bread - $1, you got to be kidding. Very disappointing.
We live an hour & half drive away but have been to Maison 3 or 4 times over the past few years and it's always been a treat. This time was no exception. Friendly waiter, wonderful food, and a great ambiance. It's clearly stated on the website and in the opentable reservation page but reminder it's BYOB, which we like ($6 corkage seems perfectly fair).
Our only minor quibble is that if they offer after-dinner tea or coffee, we did not know about it.
