About Maison - Lancaster
In its most simple form, we are in the business of feeding people.
A business that we love and take a great deal of pride in and
an act at the core of what it is to be human.
To us, there is nothing more satisfying than inviting you: our friends, family, farmers and neighbors into our home, nourishing you with soul satisfying food and allowing you to escape the rigors of daily life… if only for a short time.
We believe that passion, hard work and love all fall into the same category.
We have taken the dichotomy of ‘work life’ and ‘real life’ and distilled them into one—we live above the restaurant. The people we know and love are all around us, we share our home with them and couldn’t be happier about it.

Maison - Lancaster Ratings and Reviews
The interesting menu drew us to the restaurant. It was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded delicious. The chef prepared a vegetarian meal for me that was absolutely amazing. The presentation of the food was beautiful. I’ve already decided this is a “must return to” restaurant. And last but not least, the staff was friendly and very informative. Bottom line, a great evening!!!
This was our first visit to Maison. A friend who lives in Lancaster recommended the restaurant, which exceeded our high expectations. The food was excellent, and the desserts were incredible! The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet and convivial.
I've never had a bad meal at Maison. They have unique dishes and a rotating menu of local ingredients. I often take out of town guests there and they are consistently blown away by the food. Christian takes great care of us with recommendations and service. Highly recommend for foodies. It is BYOB which helps keep the cost reasonable for an evening out.
I had heard a lot about Maison before my visit, and it definitely lived up to expectations. The space, although tiny, never felt cramped. The restaurant has a big city vibe, but also has a touch of Lancaster in the decor and food itself. My table shared two appetizers: foie gras with preserved strawberry jam and then shrimp & corn fritters. Both were amazing! For my entree, I had duck with a peach sauce and roasted reaches and cherry tomatoes. It was so full of flavor! And for dessert, we shared a chocolate mousse, which was like a whipped up brownie. Our server even added a small birthday candle since we were there to celebrate a birthday in the group. So, overall, everything tasted amazing, the food was presented well, and our service was impeccable. I would go back to Maison in a heartbeat. Even with such a tiny menu, I wanted to try just about everything on it.
We arrived at Maison for an 8:45pm reservation and were seated right away. The atmosphere is very cozy and you can see the cooks working from the small open kitchen in the back. I can't say enough great things about the service, as the three (3) waiters that circled the room were very attentive to every table. I understand the menu changes often, but I'd highly recommend the lamb crepes and the duck entree if available. I'd say the duck was probably one of the best I've ever had. Great restaurant, and will be back!
I'd been hearing about this place for so long, and I was so excited to try it. It exceeded my expectations. The food is incredible, the servers were so attentive and helpful, the atmosphere was great. It's definitely for a night you want a fancy, more expensive meal, but it's absolutely worth the price.
There is nothing French in that cuisine.
I've ordered the mousse de foie gras. The mousse was ok but the bred on the side was not toasted but burned!
The pork belly and snails squewers were simply disgusting. Out of the 3 I barely could finish one. Snails over cooked and pork belly under cooked.
My husband was happy with his steak but the Lyonnaise salad was nothing but vinegar.
We were so excited to try maison, what a disappointment.
Maison is always great but this week's menu was outstanding. There were so many items we wanted to try, we need to go back again and again. Where else can you choose from fresh burrito, crab profiteroles, foie gras and more? Then for entrees - tuna, cod, smokey steak and rabbit. And you always need room for dessert. Maison is without equalin our area.
