Love this restaurant. The food never disappoints. Authentic French. BYO makes it even better. Waitstaff is always welcoming and attentive.
Make reservations in advance.
Had such a lovely time at Ma(i)son. Delicious food from beginning to end. My favorite was the spare rib entree with delicious seasonal vegetables. The chocolate mousse dessert was also to die for!
We were from Phila for a conference.
So wonderful! Food, ingredients and service. We stayed to go a second time and weren't disappointed. Best Heritage Pork! If we lived in Lancaster we would go regularly!
Not executed at a level that one would assume. The dishes were inventive but seemed a little confusing and not well thought out. Considering it was rated best in town, I hoped for a better experience. That said, the wait staff was very good.
This was our first visit to Maison. A friend who lives in Lancaster recommended the restaurant, which exceeded our high expectations. The food was excellent, and the desserts were incredible! The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet and convivial.
Some of the food was excellent, desert and pork ribs were not
The food was excellent and the quality was top notch. The menu was fun and creative, and the service was great. A great cozy BYOB in the heart of Lancaster.
What a great night out for my birthday! The Glazed Duck was melt in your mouth deliciousness! My husband enjoyed the Cod and smoked mussels. Everything was so fresh and Earls Eggs Deviled were so unique! Highly recommend a visit
Won't go back to an expensive restaurant that doesn't understand steak temps. It's fundamental. Entree choices very repetitive and in sone cases straight up boring.
The best meal we’ve had in Lancaster. We just had several pricey dinners in NYC and none compared to Maison. Ambience is lovely, servers friendly and attentive and pound cake dessert was to die for! My new favorite restaurant. 5 stars all around!
Keep in mind--Bring Your Booze.
Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to coming back to try more.
Very good meal with interesting options. Wish they called my back after I left a meaaage later that evening wondering about ingredients because of an allergic reaction. They didn't have that courtesy.
We have dined here about half a dozen times. The last few times in the past year were not as good.
Overall awesome experience- kind of like dining in your home but with exceptional food and no clean up!- friendly staff, very accommodating, felt like family. Loved the whole vibe.
Have the duck; it was outstanding. The rest of our group of 4 were pleased as well with the cod and the beef.
Outstanding, fresh, creative.
I've never had a bad meal at Maison. They have unique dishes and a rotating menu of local ingredients. I often take out of town guests there and they are consistently blown away by the food. Christian takes great care of us with recommendations and service. Highly recommend for foodies. It is BYOB which helps keep the cost reasonable for an evening out.
I had heard a lot about Maison before my visit, and it definitely lived up to expectations. The space, although tiny, never felt cramped. The restaurant has a big city vibe, but also has a touch of Lancaster in the decor and food itself. My table shared two appetizers: foie gras with preserved strawberry jam and then shrimp & corn fritters. Both were amazing! For my entree, I had duck with a peach sauce and roasted reaches and cherry tomatoes. It was so full of flavor! And for dessert, we shared a chocolate mousse, which was like a whipped up brownie. Our server even added a small birthday candle since we were there to celebrate a birthday in the group. So, overall, everything tasted amazing, the food was presented well, and our service was impeccable. I would go back to Maison in a heartbeat. Even with such a tiny menu, I wanted to try just about everything on it.
An absolute wonderful dining experience. Attentive servers who know just when to stop at your table, and allow you to enjoy when they are not needed. Fabulous food, simply superb. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
We arrived at Maison for an 8:45pm reservation and were seated right away. The atmosphere is very cozy and you can see the cooks working from the small open kitchen in the back. I can't say enough great things about the service, as the three (3) waiters that circled the room were very attentive to every table. I understand the menu changes often, but I'd highly recommend the lamb crepes and the duck entree if available. I'd say the duck was probably one of the best I've ever had. Great restaurant, and will be back!
I'd been hearing about this place for so long, and I was so excited to try it. It exceeded my expectations. The food is incredible, the servers were so attentive and helpful, the atmosphere was great. It's definitely for a night you want a fancy, more expensive meal, but it's absolutely worth the price.
My Wife and I had a fantastic evening celebrating our anniversary. The service was exceptional and the food did not disappoint. If you enjoy food, this place is a must visit.
It was a quiet & rainy evening. We sat at the chef's counter, a very large table for only 2 people. The service & food was excellent! Highly recommended!
We had heard wonderful things about Maison and perhaps that built it up too much. The food was fine but not amazing. The service was great, but the overall experience was just mediocre.
Food was phenomenal, atmosphere is cozy and service was fantastic. Highly accommodating as we had a late addition to our party and the reservation was easily modified. We look forward to returning.
One of our favorites in Lancaster. Always friendly, attentive service and creative kitchen. The burrata and the duck are excellent choices on the fall menu.
There is nothing French in that cuisine.
I've ordered the mousse de foie gras. The mousse was ok but the bred on the side was not toasted but burned!
The pork belly and snails squewers were simply disgusting. Out of the 3 I barely could finish one. Snails over cooked and pork belly under cooked.
My husband was happy with his steak but the Lyonnaise salad was nothing but vinegar.
We were so excited to try maison, what a disappointment.
My favorite Lancaster eatery. I will continue to go back. Not a large place so you need to make reservations well in advance.
This is absolutely the best food experience you've ever had. There's nothing quite like it --especially in Lancaster. The menu changes seasonally and the chef's creativity will leave you talking about your meal for weeks.
Lovely dinner for our anniversary. The burrata was delectable and the steak exceptionally tender. Our service was attentive and kind.
Amazing little Gem. Service was phenomenal! Had great recommendations and fresh ingredients! Would deff come back again!
Excellent farm-to-table restaurant; attentive wait staff.
Normally everything is divine but I just felt that this meal fell short. Clearly there were several dishes we did not care for and the server didn't seem like they wanted to address.
The tuna was fabulous and the bed of fresh vegetables was divine!
Maison is always great but this week's menu was outstanding. There were so many items we wanted to try, we need to go back again and again. Where else can you choose from fresh burrito, crab profiteroles, foie gras and more? Then for entrees - tuna, cod, smokey steak and rabbit. And you always need room for dessert. Maison is without equalin our area.
We were a party of 5 and everyone in our party raved about the meal. The waiter asked us if we wished to choose from the menu or have the chef decide on plates to share at our table. We decided to go with chef's selections and were so glad we did. We had four different appetizer/small plates and 2 different entrees. And 5 different desserts. We were presented with 2 plates of each choice (only one each of the desserts) to share We all had different favorites but agreed ALL WERE DELICIOUS! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful throughout the meal.
This was a wonderful dining experience! A week prior to this my husband and I had dinner at an award winning restaurant in Philadelphia and this excellent experience at Maison had me asking "Are we really eating like this in Lancaster?"
Our party of five all agreed - we will return to Maison!
Amazing food and great service! Best food in Lancaster!
Excellent vegetarian options including chef's choice entree.
My husband and I had a fantastic meal at maison. We had only ever been there before during winter months. This was our first time dining there during summer and the menu totally reflected that. Everything we had was prepared to perfection! We can't wait to go back.
