About Maison - Lancaster
In its most simple form, we are in the business of feeding people.
A business that we love and take a great deal of pride in and
an act at the core of what it is to be human.
To us, there is nothing more satisfying than inviting you: our friends, family, farmers and neighbors into our home, nourishing you with soul satisfying food and allowing you to escape the rigors of daily life… if only for a short time.
We believe that passion, hard work and love all fall into the same category.
We have taken the dichotomy of ‘work life’ and ‘real life’ and distilled them into one—we live above the restaurant. The people we know and love are all around us, we share our home with them and couldn’t be happier about it.

Maison - Lancaster Ratings and Reviews
I'd been hearing about this place for so long, and I was so excited to try it. It exceeded my expectations. The food is incredible, the servers were so attentive and helpful, the atmosphere was great. It's definitely for a night you want a fancy, more expensive meal, but it's absolutely worth the price.
There is nothing French in that cuisine.
I've ordered the mousse de foie gras. The mousse was ok but the bred on the side was not toasted but burned!
The pork belly and snails squewers were simply disgusting. Out of the 3 I barely could finish one. Snails over cooked and pork belly under cooked.
My husband was happy with his steak but the Lyonnaise salad was nothing but vinegar.
We were so excited to try maison, what a disappointment.
Maison is always great but this week's menu was outstanding. There were so many items we wanted to try, we need to go back again and again. Where else can you choose from fresh burrito, crab profiteroles, foie gras and more? Then for entrees - tuna, cod, smokey steak and rabbit. And you always need room for dessert. Maison is without equalin our area.
We were a party of 5 and everyone in our party raved about the meal. The waiter asked us if we wished to choose from the menu or have the chef decide on plates to share at our table. We decided to go with chef's selections and were so glad we did. We had four different appetizer/small plates and 2 different entrees. And 5 different desserts. We were presented with 2 plates of each choice (only one each of the desserts) to share We all had different favorites but agreed ALL WERE DELICIOUS! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful throughout the meal.
This was a wonderful dining experience! A week prior to this my husband and I had dinner at an award winning restaurant in Philadelphia and this excellent experience at Maison had me asking "Are we really eating like this in Lancaster?"
Our party of five all agreed - we will return to Maison!
My husband and I had a fantastic meal at maison. We had only ever been there before during winter months. This was our first time dining there during summer and the menu totally reflected that. Everything we had was prepared to perfection! We can't wait to go back.
My husband and I visited Maison last weekend. It was a positive experience over all but don't think we'll be too quick to go back. Thank goodness it's BYOB, since we only had 3 small plates and one entree to share and our bill was still $80. There are so many places in the area that have equally good food but aren't as over priced.
One other diner mentioned the crab and asparagus appetizer and the difficulty of eating the stone crab and we must agree. We've had it in Florida and they serve it that it's so much easier to eat and the claws were extremely small.
The Lyonnaise salad was wonderful but seriously overpriced for a salad.
Alton Brown is correct, the Parisienne style gnocchi is fantastic.
The staff is a delight and atmosphere is classy and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious chef's tasting!
The burratta with stinging nettle pesto was so creative & tasty. A lovely salad was next then we were stretched (in a good way!) by the beef tartar. The lamb meatballs with polenta were the star!
We came here for our wedding anniversary and had an excellent experience. My husband is vegan and I am vegetarian--they prepared delicious meals for both of us (we let them know dietary needs ahead of time). I'd say the food is on par with Vedge in Philly--fresh, local, thoughtfully prepared, and so flavorful. Excellent service and great ambiance. Perfect for special occasions. It is small and intimate--tables are quite close together.
As a regular business traveler and due to working in the restaurant industry, I've been fortunate to sample many local gem restaurants throughout the US. Maison is at or near the top with the freshest ingredients and an impressive creativity with each course. My wife and I loved this restaurant. We would highly recommend Maison to any foodie. The cost is reasonable and yet Maison is perfect for special occasions or to impress clients/friends......an excellent dining experience!
