I’ll be honest, the food was above what I expected in quality and preparation. Our server, Amy, was well versed on the menu, and took great care of us. She was attentive without being in our face every minute, we lacked for nothing during the night.
We’ve been in many of the plethora of trendy restaurants that proliferate the upper King and neck areas, and the majority, in my opinion, are overpriced for the less than spectacular offerings. The kitchen at Maison is pricing their dishes pretty much in line with my expectations.
The noise level in their dining room is an issue that they’re aware of.
Bathrooms were clean and spacious. An observation from one of the ladies; the barn door to the restroom she used did not lock well and another patron opened it while she was in mid use.
We are happy to be ‘regulars’ at this fabulous restaurant. They knock it out of the park every time. The food and service are beyond compare. Our favorite place in Charleston!
Not sure about recommending. Fault could be with us. Our expectations were more of a bistro menu than a classical French one. And that impacted our experience.
Nice but limited menue and wine list. Parking or better the lack therefore a serious problem. Too many other choices in town.
Best dinner I've had in Charleston in a long time and we usually eat out twice a week.
Excellent service & food.
Good food with good service. We will be back.
Maison is a real find in this city where good restaurants abound. Perfect for a delicious meal anytime or for a celebration. Our group was celebrating a recent wedding, and the staff went out of their way to make the night special. The monkfish was delicious as was the duck, and the steak frites made me think I was back in France again. It is a cozy venue. A delightful evening. Make reservations and go ASAP!
This was our first visit to Maison. The staff are very friendly none available except on the street. There are several parking lots nearby but they are all for Melfi's, Little Jack's & Leon's & clearly state NOT for Maison! We parked on Race street near the Greek Orthodox Church, about 1 1/2 blocks away which was as easy walk.
great service and delicious food. looking forward to returning soon!
Great food. Really amazing chicken with black truffle. The bartenders were great. Sat at the bar. Very lively !!
Fantastic dinner and wonderful service.
Food and service were both amazing! Highly recommend!!!
Everything was good. Most memorable thing was the fries. Had 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 1 glass of wine and 1 specialty drink. Total was $186. I rarely feel like a meal just wasn’t worth the money. Maybe if this was a $100-$125 experience I would feel differently. Maybe Charleston rent is just getting too high to expect anything else.
1st time there. Very enjoyable experience. Terrific food!!
Great food and service, limited menu, very noisy
Food and service was outstanding, the aged Duck was great, the chicken was incredibly tender. Limited wine list and very high corkage. The place has more of a "diner" feel then a Bistro but if your there for the food you won't be disappointed.
Food, service, wine, ambience all there!!
Will definitely go again!
The chicken was devine!
I the salad with the nuts had so much flavor!
You must try the pate and frites. Truly yum!
We waited over 45 minutes for our table and we made a reservation weeks before. Very disappointing. Will not be back.
Maison was excellent. I loved the food, drinks, and ambiance.
Our booking was for 8:30 and food didn’t arrive till 9:40. They kept saying there was a big party ahead of us but there didn’t seem to be. They seem to book more tables than they can handle. At 9:30, they came to apologize and then brought some cold stale baguette. Terrible experience, not going back. They surely made us starve for the food. Food wasn’t bad but at that point we would have eaten anything.
I am embarrassed to admit that we didn't think we liked French food, but after Maisson we admit we were wrong! We had read the reviews and heard that it was great plus our last name is Love so we had to try it because it the chef and ownership. We had the steak and triggerfish and both were excellent as well as the incredible desserts (chocolate mousse, Madelines and creme brulee). Highly recommend!
Perfect neighborhood spot and worth the trip if you don’t.
We had an excellent meal and outstanding service. Our server was very friendly and helpful . I didn't get her name but she's from Ohio.
Thoughtful, inspired preparation of high quality ingredients. A good take on French cuisine for ANY part of the country, but especially in food-forward Charleston. Bring a friend and share the duck, trust the specials, and do try the Mattei Cap Corse blanc apertif!
Amazing all around! Food, service, wine selection, ambiance;) it was a fantastic experience!
Not to be petty, but it's in an industrial strip and parking on the side of the building was right in front of huge, fly-laden garbage cans. Not great to see when you are ready to eat. However, if they could fix that, the inside was cute and clean, and the food was decent. Server was very attentive, but we got no bread with our entrees, which I was looking forward to! At a french restaurant, its expected!
Great food and staff but the restaurant is located in a transitional area with no parking.
Was there within a week of opening day and it was outstanding. Didn’t believe there was any room for improvement... our meal, wine, service and gentle guidance from the staff was beings my expectations. Well done!
Absolutely fabulous food from the heirloom tomatoes to vegetable tart and pate. Service friendly and efficient.
A friend recommended Maison and it did not disappoint! Love the veggie tart! Will go back for burger night - Wednesday! Great Steak frites!
Food was outstanding, didn’t have high expectations when I went. Thought it would be an average French restaurant, but my expectations were blown out of the water. Food is incredible, staff is fantastic, and the wine was delicious. Found the pricing to be extremely responsible who the quality of food we enjoyed. Easily one of the best restaurants in Charleston without feeling to fancy!
Easy and expertly showcased!
Bigeye tuna & socca.
Highly recommended for our visit to Charleston and was NOT disappointed!
Looking forward to returning soon!
Fantastic food and professional, attentive, knowledgeable service. Short but relevant wine list. Unique cocktails.
Best French cuisine in CHS. Outstanding large portions integrating lowcountry food using French cooking techniques. Absolutely fabulous. Will be back soon!
Awesome food. Wednesday night burger special is amazing and the mussels were the best I’ve had in Charleston. Service was top notch as well.
A lovely evening dining at Maison. The food, service and ambience was just wonderful.
