Who doesn’t love mimosas? I’ve been looking at brunch spots that sell mimosas, as not all breakfast restaurants do. I was very pleased when I arrived for my reservation. We got their double bubble (mimosas). It appears they have numerous flavors but this time they only had regular orange which I did not mind. The drinks were tasty and effective. The food was tasty and beautiful. The service was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend.

This establishment has a very nice culinary selection, great and personable service staff and restaurant layout was nice! Had a great time with the family and we plan to comeback in the near future!

I asked for standard seating and got a high table. There were plenty of regular tables. Wait staff were all over the place not in set sections. We had the bar tender and she had a hard time taking care of simple tasks. Our food took forever, it wasn’t done right and it wasn’t even that busy. I wouldn’t recommend going unless taking a few hours for dinner in a so so atmosphere is what you want.

Ask for a hightop, the low tables have a very strange seat for one side and you are very close to another table. The food was good especially the nachos but the fried chicken needed more seasoning than just breading and the biscuit needed some honey butter. Overall good but a bit pricey for dinner, maybe just do some appetizers and drinks.

My guests were first time visitors to the Mainzer. Hostess was friendly and efficient. They loved the beer tap and appreciated the chilled beer glasses we got from the bar keep. My guests said they weren't hungry for dinner, but when I ordered the bucket of fried chicken, they dove in! Fried chicken was cooked to perfection. We asked for extra fresh rolls. Server was awesome!

Everything went great. The food, service, and ambiance were terrific. I was surprised they weren't packed during brunch on a Sunday though. But still I definitely would recommend this place.

We were a party of four (two couples) meeting at 1 pm for a late lunch to catch up. Hostess left us in the lobby to go set up our table, then returned to seat us. Servicer took our order promptly, but was not attentive to refills of beverages. Server did not offer the desert menu until after we closed out the tab with the bartender. Theater side was closed for seating. Noise level was very loud due to multiple tables with large parties. We loved the menu and the food. We would not return here due to service and noise levels- we’d go somewhere else.

Our server was wonderful. Very attentive and professional. The only issue I had was though I had a reservation, they had already had our table picked out for us. This was fine, I realize other restaurants do this, but I didn't like the table... When I told the hostess this, she seemed to catch a bit of an attitude, I literally heard her sigh. I just didn't want to be next to the kitchen with heavy traffic, that's all. I asked for a booth and she said that was for large parties, but the two parties that were seated there were parties of 4, and I had a party of 3. I thought she meant large parties like 5 or more. Other than that, the meal was outstanding. I loooooooooooooved the beer wall! I'll be back for brunch again.

the food was wonderful, the drinks tasted good, Scott Patrick is amazing, but service was a little slow. Our waters were empty for awhile, we had to wait a long time to order dessert, and when we went to pay the waitress never came back so I just left the money on the table. overall it is an fantastic venue and we will be back.

Tried this new gathering place in Merced for a second time. The staff was pleasant, entertaining, and attentive. You can tell the Mainzer is utilizing the local university. Ordered the tacos (carne, pescado, and shrimp). When they arrived, the shell was cold and tough to chew. When the food was picked up from it's cute little stand, the shell broke and all the ingredients spilled out (on all four tacos). The taco became a salad which was difficult to eat because of the cute little stand. If the shell had been heated, it would have been more pliable so it could fold without breaking. Got the bill and a bit of shell shock - four tacos, two drinks, and two cocktails came to nearly ninety bucks. Walk two blocks down Main street and get better quality food at a lower price.

The show was great and the food was great. I went with a friend and dinner for both of us was under $40. I enjoyed the fish tacos and my friend had the steak sandwich, which was also delicious. So nice to have a dinner and show in downtown Merced on a Thursday night. My only criticism was the stools (at taller tables) were pretty uncomfortable by the end of the show. The Mainzer is definitely one of my favorite places.

We went for Sunday brunch, early. The food was excellent. It was served beautifully, and in a timely manner. The service was friendly, and helpful. The only draw back was the noise level. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear the conversation from across the table. Given the service, and quality of food, this was a great find.
