This place will get my vote for Best New Restaurant of the Main Line!!! You better get those Brussel sprouts and scallops!!! The best thing I have ever had in my life. Fantastic service from Lori and drinks to die for. Had the pleasure meeting the owner, hats off to Jay Stevens. Job well done.
Excellent food, thin crust pizza highly recommended. A little pricey but overall good dining experience.
Jay the owner and Ray the manager are always very attentive and welcoming. Our waitress Nikki was very knowledgeable and efficient and extremely pleasant to work with. The food is amazing and we have brought several people there all of whom have enjoyed it immensely.Cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful restaurant!
I just really do not think it is worth the price. The food was ok, but not outstanding. The fig toast is delicious, the kale salad was too salty, the maple roasted squash was not good at all. We got Rocky Road Pudding for dessert and it tasted like very average candy bar, too sweet and not chocolaty enough. You may like it if you are used to whatever Hershey calls "chocolate". And there really is no reason to charge $16 for a glass of average wine.
PGood food. stopped in on a Thursday night, but pricey.
It was relatively quiet. We were seated immediately which was good. We skipped the starters, as it is the eating season, and we wanted to see how the main courses tasted. Consider it a scouting trip for upcoming family events and a night out.
Overall the service was fine.
Had the Pork Milanese and the Scallops. The food came relatively quickly. The Milanese Pork was very nicely prepared. The scallops equally so.
Here's the challenge. The price per plate was higher than many other equivalent restaurants. Maybe on a few $, but it set a tone. Perhaps the most challenging value point was the wine list. While we all understand that there will be a markup this one set a new high even compared to New York prices. The markup varied between 3x-5x! Compared to other establishments with a consistent 3X markup this adds up if you host say 6 people.
To start, our server Nikki was awesome. Very pleasant, friendly and professional. Provided us a few lunch ideas. I had one of the lunch specials, Flatbread, that included a salad and warm cookie for dessert, everything was very tasty and served with a smile. My guest had the taco’s, her first experience at M&V, and I am certain she will be back. She said they were delicious.
All in all, a delightful lunch at M&V, I highly recommend going there.
This restaurant has become our favorite "go-to" place for a great meal. The food is interesting, the cocktails
are delicious, and the service is outstanding. We dine here for any excuse: birthday, date night, friends' meeting--we haven't had a bad meal!
Third time here and first 2 times were excellent in all areas except for the noise factor which every restaurant seems to struggle with nowadays because of the decor and hardwood floors.
This time our service was terrible. Our server was cocky and down right rude. Two of the entrées had run out and when we asked about the lasagna he said it wasn’t his favorite. When our friend decided to order it he said it wouldn’t be his fault. Not professional. Then our meals took an extraordinarily long time to receive and while it was noted that there was a delay it wasn’t with any compassion except from the woman who delivered the food. She was very nice and apologetic.
Fiends from out of town joined us for a delicious, reasonably priced meal.
Food, ambience, staff...everything was great but it doesn’t get loud.
The service was impeccable! The restaurant has a fun vibe. I ordered salmon and my husband ordered halibut. Both were excellent! Also the Brussels sprouts were delicious!
We will definitely return!
An amazing meal and excellent service!!!
Special destination for any occasion!!!
Excellent service and excellent food. The ambience was fantastic, the wine list top notch.
I was a little skeptical about this restaurant given its size (large) and location (in a shopping center off Lancaster Ave), but it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The menu was large and varied yet everything we tried was terrific from the Fig Toast appetizer to the seared scallop entree and seasonal cocktails to the amazing sourdough bread. Our waiter Christian was a true professional -- helpful but not overbearing, knowledgeable but not annoyingly so and very accommodating (he brought us samples of two different wines to try before deciding. The prices were very reasonable for the food quality and the portions were ample without being grotesquely large. We would go back again in a heartbeat since we only scratched the surface of the menu. I hope this restaurant catches on with the Main Line community and beyond. It fills a need for a restaurant that has fantastic food and a great atmosphere without a snotty attitude and high prices.
Nice atmosphere with an inviting bar. Friendly, attentive service. I had the onion soup (delicious but a little on the sweet side) and a beet salad (served with ricotta cheese vs the more usual goat cheese). Husband had the cauliflower soup and rainbow trout. Thumbs up for the soup, rainbow trout was a little over cooked. We give the food about a 3.5 but would probably come back and order apps or flatbreads at the bar.
Saturday night dinner with friends. Everything was perfect: drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts and more drinks! Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back!
Main and Vine is a great new spot on the Mainline. It gets crowded early.
First time here. Will be back. Food was great and loved the atmosphere.
interesting menu and food was very good, especially the beet salad!!
All I can say is wow! Was recommended to come to Main and Vine and surpassed all of our expectations! From the drinks, to the service, to the food to the ambiance, it was an amazing experience. This is a hidden gem on the Main line and I will be a customer for life. If you are looking for a 5 star experience, this is the place to go! You will not regret it!
It was our first time at Maine & Vine and we absolutely loved it. Made reservations for the next week end already. Thank you!
First time there and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is inside. The bar is sleek and the food was delicious.
An absolute Pleaser for a refined palate...This dining experience was more than superb. This cool vibe dining experience offered our party delicious and fresh food options along with excellent service.
The bar is absolutely beautiful and the libations truly lifted our spirits !!
We are so impressed that we can't wait to return !!
Restaurant was nearly empty, beautifully done but I doubly they will make it. I invited a good friend to lunch for her birthday, asked for a quiet table, easy to do.
Music was too loud as usual.
We both ordered the crab roll, it came with chips & the crap was on a brioche made by them. $18....a minuscule amount of crab..I let them know & they said it was the 2nd week of lunch being served..brought us more crab, generous amount which was lovely.
The crab itself was not liked that much by either of us, an odd taste. Chips were great!..my friend thought it was just so so, price much to high.
Less bread more crab, perhaps a small salad on the side.
We won’t be back.
Went to dinner here for my birthday and definitely did not disappoint. Food, drinks and service was phenomenal! So happy with this choice... I’ll be going back for sure!
What most people look for in a place they love to dine is consistency- and I can say we have consistently had an amazing dining experience from start to finish each time we come in! We always are treated like VIPs at Main & Vine from the warm greeting at the door from the hostesses and the owner himself, to the top knotch swarm service we get throughout the entire meal. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. She was warm and friendly while at the same time very professional and anticipating our every need before we needed to ask for anything. We appreciated that a couple of servers and the GM stopped over to our table also to bring us more cocktails or water throughout the night. They don’t skip a beat on service. We enjoyed delicious cocktails from the bar, ice cold beer, shared the Salumi pizza and Mushroom Pizzas to start (to die for as usual) For our entrees I had the Flat Iron Steak (for the 5th time- again consistency!) my husband had the Halibut special which he loved, and our friends had the Steak Frites (we are still talking about the garlic fries) and the Burger. Also- word to the wise- get the Crab Mashed Potatoes. It’s a buttery, creamy heavenly dish with fresh crab and sprinkled chives. We had to have dessert of course. The churros were the perfect mix of warm, chewy and crunchy with chocolate and caramel sauces for dipping and the flourless chocolate cake was decadent. They also serve fresh La Colombe coffee which is my favorite. We came early and as our meal came to an end the place was packed with people, the music and the vibe perfect for the place to be on a Saturday night. We love love love this place and can’t wait to go back again soon.
The review is supposed to be 50 words but I only have one - PERFECTION!
Great service, food, and atmosphere. I will definitely be back again.
Attractive place, very good food, fine service.
Pretty space. Halibut tacos not exceptional but good. Very nice service. Will return and try other food items. And big, very inviting bar!
service was outstanding. Menu had something for everyone and everything was fresh, crispy and seasoned just right.
Reminds me of Northern California ; decor is hip/chic
First time visit; fine meal; one negative- entrees came before appetizers were cleared- finished but not cleared. And then we were asked if we wanted a 2nd drink or glass of wine, but they didn’t come until 1/2 the entree was eaten.
Fried oysters were excellent; service very friendly; salmon, mushroom soup, trout and old-fashion were very good.
The location was great even though there was a lot of construction going on. Really liked the menu choices, however would like to see a couple of gluten free options added to the menu - specifically bread for the sandwiches. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and give him 5 stars.
An advantage was that M&V could take a party of six. But it's an acoustically loud space, so hearing each other talk was difficult.
The food was generally good, although I didn't care for the mignonette with the oysters - a ittle syrupy, not much character. Lemon was fine and the oysters were good. There was a complaint about the salmon from one guest: the taste was too much dominated by the oil it came with.
A 70-dollar bottle of wine was indifferent.
I enjoyed my first time to this new restaurant. The ambiance is very nice, the service was excellent, and the food was good overall. My caesar salad was delicious, but my steak was lukewarm and I did not care for the deep fried whipped avocado. The menu did not explain that the avocado was deep fried. I would try it again, but maybe go to the bar next time for lighter bites. I thought it was a little overpriced, especially the wine -- the pours were low (did not warrant the cost). Two glasses of wine cost as much as the meal. Wine prices (by the glass) are getting out of hand.
Gluten free options are not identified but the waitress was knowledgeable about the food and knew what I could and could not eat.
Disappointing! I was looking forward to trying Main & Vine. While nothing was wrong it was not a home run. Food was average. I felt like I was dining in a dressed up airplane hangar. Very sterile decor. The decibel level was unbearable. Conversation was almost impossible. Not worth a second shot. While the wine list was good, it's very pricey. We spend $20 a glass on a wine that retails for $22.99 a bottle. I realize that wines have a huge markup, but that's a little too crazy.
Atmosphere was great... food was Ok and wine list could use a boost..:
