Main and Vine
While famous for producing some of the finest wines in the world, Northern California is also home to several of the top craft breweries in production today, and prides itself on creating such cocktails as the iconic gin martini, pisco punch, and cable car just to name a few.
It is this craft and culinary union that embodies the MAIN & VINE spirit and approach. Our bistro welcomes guests to experience the best of Northern California for themselves, in a sophisticatedly hip, yet relaxed atmosphere.
Cocktails and service was great unfortunately I can’t say the same about the food. Considering how many great restaurants there are in the main line this was not worth the money.
Never disappointed! Sat at the bar and enjoyed drinks, appetizers and the best hamburger and fries on the planet!
The owner, Jay, is a very interactive and exceptional host. He makes every guest feel special. The food is superb. Our waitress Kristen was excellent. We have been here several times and always delighted with the food and service and Ambiance. We have brought several people to the restaurant and they are all extremely pleased with the experience.
1st visit LOVED it. Beautiful atmosphere and great food. Can't wait to go again.
From the moment I arrived to meet my friends to the end of our evening- I can not say enough about the hostess, our server and the general manager not to mention the outstanding meal and libations!
Fabulous!!! Will be back SOON
The food and service were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I stopped in early on a Saturday night and sat at the spacious bar. The bartender upsold my wife on the glass of wine, but otherwise was very professional. Food and service were very good. The crowd was a little late arriving.
Great food. Phenomenal service! Yasmine took great care of us; knows every dish on the menu and can describe each dish so you really get an idea of what you’ll be getting. The bread appetizer is worth the $6, amazingly fresh and outstanding ricotta, olive oil and olive mixture.
My husband had the chicken entree, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the potato puree was a great compliment. I had the bucatini and baby clams and it was simply delicious. Bucatini was cooked to the right texture, baby clams and artichokes in the garlic sauce were perfect. Will definitely go back, plenty more great dishes I want to try!
Great food and service! Bar is great, very accommodating.
Loved the food here! We ate from the raw bar, shared a salad, the sourdough bread, three different entrees, each exceptional. Our only drawbacks: with the restaurant barely half full, the meal for our party of three took more than two hours. Our server was great at checking on us, but the time between the starters and the salad, and the salad and the main courses was excessive. We could not imagine staying even later for dessert. So, once this place fills up (and it will), they need to get their kitchen humming at a better pace. Also, while we enjoyed a couple of cocktails and a bottle of wine, the prices on these were really, really high; the wine mark up, in particular, was excessive.
A bit pretentious Over priced for what it was....service was very attentive and crafted cocktail very good...food was meh
Food is very good. Service is very friendly, however slow.
Food was amazing, our server was a bit slow but nice. The management team was great and stopped at our table to check in multiple times during the evening. Will definitely go back!
Our first time and it was good. Owner very nice and experienced. Good authentic California food. Still working on service but for being only open two months not bad.
Will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our small plates and flatbread. Nice bottle of wine and dessert. Service was excellent!!!
Loved the whole experience ! Great food, great wait staff,
Excellent food. Wonderful ambience. Great service. We had a fantastic dining experience, would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
This was the 3rd time eating here. Every visit the dinner took an hour to arrive. Even without appetizers. Staff always says "it's coming right out". After the 4th time you're told that you know there's a problem. Very Poorly managed kitchen. Worst of all, became ill after last dinner, as well as tonight's. Won't be back for dinner. Too many other great restaurants to choose from. Good place for a drink as food isn't required for that.
Service a bit slow but over all great experience
Waited too long to get a drink as well as when we were ready for the check
Great atmosphere, busy on a Thursday night. Food was a bit overpriced ($20 for a burger, for example), but good.
Service left a bit to be desired - was pretty slow. Appetizers came out timely; drinks were a little slow; main courses were extremely slow (they showed up just as I was about to complain to the manager).
Overall, if they straightened out their service issues and revisited at least some of their pricing, I'd highly recommend it.
That was my 2nd time there, and I'll go back.
4th time here and keeps getting better!!! Really just blown away from the food to the service to the music! Top notch!! Such a fun, hip and cool environment. You must try the sourdough pizza and First Crush cocktail! Already looking for the 5th return! Hands down best spot on the Main Line!
We ordered the flat steak and the Sunday gravy special. Both were very tasty. The flat steak was ordered medium and came out perfect. The Sunday special is a pasta dish with several slow cooked pulled meats. We also ordered cinnamon churros for dessert which were an excellent choice. We both had Californian made beers - Anchor Steam which you'll usually find as a local favorite in the Bay area. Excellent food experience! There are modern decorations and a large open centered bar which added to the fabulous ambiance.
Outstanding food, service and ambiance! Great find in the Main Line
Good food .
Service very slow
We had an enjoyable dinner at Main & Vine. It was our first visit here, and we will definitely be back. The ambiance is great, the service is great, and the menu is very good. I had the bucatini and clams, which was very good. My husband had the salmon, which he said was very good but was overcooked. He mentioned it to the server, and the maitre d' promptly came over and apologized, and comped us our desserts (which we told him was not necessary). I truly feel they care about the customer's experience and want to make it right going forward. This is a really nice place and we look forward to dining here often.
A nice addition to the restaurant scene...the pizza was the "ah Ha!" moment for sure!
I thought the food was okay. I read other reviews and noted folks raved about the sourdough pizza. We had the mushroom, but it was overdone and that took away from the enjoyment of the food. We also ordered the tostadaa and it was a good choice. Nice slow cooked meat with a touch of sour cabbage. We enjoyed that choice. The restaurant was a nice decorated and modern facility. Good ambiance.
It was disappointing.
Service was very slow and food was fair..
I do not think I would Go back
Great apps - artichokes are a must. Cocktails were fantastic. Salmon was delicious. Will visit again!
Great food, beautiful restaurant and excellent service
Server Miguel was excellent and the food was mostly delicious. Fig toast was perfect as was he tuna tataki and the roasted artichokes. The bread is that perfect balance of crunch and soft. Only negative was the scallops. Three scallops is NOT an entree (minimum 4 and preferably 5). Also the risotto was overly salty and mealy. Other diners were loud, especially a table of middle-aged women who had too much to drink.
restaurant is casual. Food is mostly very very good. Service very good although too many stops at our table to ask how everything is.
Main and Vine was excellent! Terrific atmosphere with modern sleek decor, a casual vibe that feels more like fine dining, without the price tag. The bar has a wide selection of unique wine, beer and cocktails and a large area for guests to enjoy with plenty of seats. The blueberry soda is a must try. The ambiance is great when the sun goes down with accent lighting throughout and candles at every table, coupled with music that appeals to all, loud enough to hear, but faint enough so as not to distract from your table’s conversation. The bistro has different areas that all come with a specific vibe to meet your needs, from large groups in the dining room to a couple in the lounge area. The attentiveness of the staff is above anywhere else I’ve been. Water continuously topped off, dishes removed, courteous servers knowledgable of the entire menu’s offerings, and if you get up from your table for a restroom break or to make a phone call, you come back to refolded linen napkins. That’s a nice touch! Now to the food...the flatbread pizza was fantastic! My wife and I are looking forward to the next time so we can sit at the pizza bar that overlooks the sous chef working around the pizza ovens. The warm sourdough bread comes out sliced, soft on the inside with a crisp crust and a side of oils and olives. The King Crabs take the work out of your hands, delivered to the table with the meat ready to remove. Simply dip and eat. There is a beet salad perfect for beet lovers like myself (beets get little respect). We had the trout and the salmon for entrees, both of which came with creative sides you won’t find elsewhere, but will keep you coming back. For dessert, the cinnamon churros (with caramel & chocolate dips), rocky road pudding and lemon cake were amazing. All in all, this is a phenomenal place we’ll be going back to regularly and would highly recommend to anyone. It was a perfect evening with friends at Main & Vine.
Delicious flavors. Somewhat small portions so don't just get one main dish. Ordering from different parts of the menu lets you try some great dishes.
We had a phenomenal meal with great service. Looking forward to going back soon!
Superb experience through and through!
Great venue, delicious food, a bit expensive .
I ordered a steak frites/ medium. Hard to mess up but they did. The center section was undercooked, i.e, not edible. Outer section was overcooked. Won’t go back. Otherwise nice ambience, but quite noisy.
Overall we had a good first experience at Main and Vine. We were seated promptly. Our server was attentive. My husband enjoyed the mussel appetizer. I had the bucatini with cockles. It was tasty but for $23 I expected more than six small crustaceans. My husband had the special, prime rib. He ordered it medium rare. It came medium well and a fourth of it was fat covered in a layer of mushrooms. It was $35. We never balk at prices when we feel we got our money’s worth.
The fried oysters were awful. The beet salad was ok.
Scallops were good—the two sides were not.
