Great meal to close out weekend in NYC. Wait staff delightful and food was superb.
Never disappointing ! Food is always authentic and delicious . We love the view of Gramercy Park from its windows and the elegant simplicity that it exudes. Favorite chic brunch spot in town !
We love this restaurant. We have had dinner here before and it did not disappoint this past Saturday night. Everything from our appetizers (amazing cotechino), to pastas (fabulous carbonara), to our main course (suckling pig which we shared), to John our server, to the patrons sitting next to us...........it was a fun and delicious experience. We will be back. The only thing is that when I called to reserve, they asked if it was a special occasion and I replied that it was our anniversary. They even put this info on our check and then forgot all about it. Oh, well, next time. We will be back soon.
My husband and I met my son and his girlfriend for Brunch at Maialino. The staff is very professional, polite and helpful. We arrived on time but my son was late....no worries, they were happy to seat us at our table and brought our coffee as we waited. The service was great even though the restaurant was completely full. The food was fabulous, everyone was happy with what they had. Ambience is casual but sophisticated.
Went for weekend brunch only. Not accommodating, overpriced for food quality.
Unpleasant surprise for this group of restaurants. Ate at North Avenue Grille later that evening. Also expensive, but the food and service were spectacular and it was worth every penny.
Place is great service is lacking
Food was fine, but for the price, not great value. Pasta with pig disappointing; cacio & pepe very good
Lovely all around except for the provincial mindset that "we only serve rose/rosato in the summer"...get with the program...only in America is rose served only in the summer (or at least in a handful of restaurants)...very disappointing...
Loud drunken party at next table.
With 5 guest we were seated at an extra large round table and it was too big to talk across. I started with 4 guests but when I added one more I was told to come half an hour later. When we got there - there were empty tables
Overall, I would recommend this place to be tried at least once. The food was quite good. I went basically for the sole purpose of trying the Maialino Al Forno (roasted suckling pork) which was indeed very tasty; it had incredible crispy skin with just the right layer of fat and the pork was juicy. I was not that impressed with the size of it though, from reviews I have read and from what the manager was saying, I was expecting something much larger. We shared it as an appetizer among my dining group of 4 but I would say if you were really hungry and a fan of pork, it is definitely doable for one person to eat the whole thing with no problem. All the pastas were good too especially the squid ink tagliolini. Service was a mixed bag; our water was refilled quite often and the waiter was friendly when he first came over but it took them quite a bit before they came to take our orders. The space was nice but was quite cold for most of the evening.
