Danny Meyer’s Gramercy Park Roman Italian restaurant is better than we initially thought, especially for a date or an upscale brunch.

Another fine dining experience. What separates good restaurants from great restaurants is consistency. Maialino consistently serves excellent food and wine. Their pasta is some of the best I ever eaten. Their fish is always fresh and perfectly prepared. I had the trout....excellent.
Save room for desert as everything is baked on the premises.

Seared pork sausage was best ever, a must. The Rigatoni with lentils was , the pasta was cooked al dente just right. The half chicken was -the skin so crispy and the meat was cooked to perfection.......We were too full for anything else........

The tasting menu sounded fantastic! Unfortunately courses were served too cold, with a “sheen” which seemed as if they had been prepared ahead and sitting. This can happen at large catered events and “standard” spots but have never experienced it at any other Danny Meyer restaurant. We enjoyed the ambiance and friendly, professional service but would not necessarily recommend the tasting menu to friends.

Cutting edge cuisine with emphasis on fresh herbs that lend a complexity of flavors
that linger on the palate. Makes you look forward to every bite. Desserts are off the charts, and a huge selection of wines from Italy. Remarkable!

I normally enjoy Maialano and don't want to be too rough here, but my most recent experience was underwhelming in so many ways that I am perplexed. We were greeted immediately, seated promptly, and received water, and then not attended to for another 10 minutes. After realizing we were not being taken care of, we were approached by another server and asked if we would like to order our dinner before the menu was explained and before we were offered a glass of wine or cocktail. The salads and pasta were outstanding, however the pork was tough and dry. Our server said "No problem" to us in reply to our thank you's and requests. I know how important the service aspect is to The Union Square Hospitality Group-this time fell far short of the previous experiences I have had at Maialino.

Great service and ambiance. Server Drew was very knowledgeable- a great asset to Mialialino. Sommelier needs a personality adjustment. Pork shoulder had a little too much fat. Malfatti was ok.
Desserts were excellent. Lively bar. Worth the drive.

I love Maialino. The atmosphere is warm and inviting- it doesn’t feel at all like a run of the mill hotel bar/restaurant. The food is fantastic, not outrageously expensive, and service is usually excellent. This particular time, our waiter, a tallish blonde guy, was inattentive. I immediately ordered a pot of coffee, but though he wordlessly dropped off my friend’s decaf, my coffee still hadn’t arrived when we got the syrup and ketchup for our meal and I had to ask someone else for it. We never got the peach preserves that were supposed to come with our pancakes, but by the time he came over to check in, we were pretty much finished. That guy just wasn’t living up to the Danny Meyer standard when we visited.

Overall great ambiance and service quite attentive but unassuming . Octopus was quite flavorful. The pasta although great presentation were too salty for our taste. Gelato and sorbet were refreshing .

I love this restaurant, and was in NYC for a short time so was excited to have a meal here for my friend's birthday lunch. I didn't complain to the server but my pasta was not hot. I was VERY disappointed. I wanted the meal to be EXCEPTIONAL. It was tasty but come on, serving the food at the right temperature is restaurant 101. It's not something I would ever expect to be so wrong at a Danny Meyer establishment, never mind for Carbonara! It should NEVER be tepid. Ever.

This was a very disappointing experience. The choices on the menu were not appropriate for the Thanksgivng Holiday. We are regulars at the restaurant and will not go back. Pig is not a substitute for Turkey or Lamb? No Fish? Pasta? Or Chicken? And no switching if you pick one main with appetizer? My mother is 88 years old and this was an awful way for her to spend Thanksgiving.

I am a fan of all things Grammercy, all things Danny Meyer, and all things Roman - so this was the perfect spot for a Sunday pre-theatre brunch and it did not disappoint. Delicious coffee, delicious croissants, and delicious entrees!

Was delicious but we had to wait thirty min for a table and I feel they should have thrown in something for our table to enjoy, but they didn’t. Very nice relaxed setting. Actually reminds me a lot of an upscale

I love anything Danny Meyer does. I'm afraid though that the restaurant was not on their game .
The waiter was very nice but the food took forever, one of us got the wrong meal but kept it just so we could eat, 2 out of 4 of our meals weren't hot ...very off...

We were very disappointed. Although the food was still good, the service was awful. It took forever for anyone to attend to us once we were seated. The only shining star was the wine stewart, who actually brought us menus and took our cocktail and wine order. Also, I think he nudged the waiter to pay some attention to us. As someone else wrote, this is not the Danny Meyers we are used to. What ever happend to his carefully trained staff. At one point, a waiter was teaching a busboy how to set a table!!!!!!!! VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! It'll be a while before we go back.
