Hi, muchas gracias por tomarse el tiempo para dejarnos una calificación.
Celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary; love to try new restaurants in the Gables area. Ordered the guacamole for appetizer, it was delicious albeit a bit watery. My wife ordered the snapper and I tried the filet mignon; excellent presentation, cooked as requested and quite tasty. Very nice, modern ambiance with excellent service. A definite recommendation; will return in the near future.
Hi Eduardo, thank you so much for choosing us to celebrate your 60th wedding anniversary. Thank you so much for this 5-star review. We really appreciate you being a customer and helping to share the word about us. We’re here for you anytime.
Located on the first floor of a hotel in Coral Gables is this beautifully decorated hip and modern restaurant with a lounge-like vibe and really, really excellent food. The music is bit loud but it adds a cool vibe to the ambiance. We ordered the guacamole, cauliflower, octopus, sashimi, quesadilla, roasted corn, sea bass and ended with a rich chocolate dome mousse with a side of orange ice cream. Truly all excellent dishes. The octopus stood out for its amazing flavor that included cinnamon. Not sure how they made that work but it was on point. I was accompanied by a chef whose palette is way more sophisticated than mine and agreed that the food was well prepared and tasty. The service was a tad off but our server was inexperienced and that came through. Sweet kid though! 😊
They say location is everything and unfortunately the restaurant is tucked on the side of town that does not get a lot of foot traffic. Change the location to downtown Gables and the place will be a tremendous hit!! Will definitely return. These guys know what they’re doing.
Seeing that you had a 5-Star experience is the best thing we could hope for! Your review means a lot to us. Thank you for choosing Maia House. We look forward to serving you for many years to come!
Excellent food! Excellent service JP our waiter was very nice and took good care of us.
I found the food overprice!

Beautiful ambiance, super chill hip vibe with great food…and your staff is excellent…service was impeccable ….
Hi YulV, thanks for the 5-star review. The team at Maia House is thrilled you’re happy with your recent restaurant visit.
The waiter and manager were extremely nice and thoughtful, but the food was of poor quality and even margaritas were poor. It’s a shame because it’s a nice location and you can see they are struggling, but will not be going back. Would not recommend it.
Thank you for your kind review and visit Yolanda. We are sorry we weren't able to impress you with our food and cocktails. We would love to invite you over for dinner for two on the house. We are positive we will be able to change your perception about us. Please contact our manager Alejandro Puga at firstname.lastname@example.org o m so we can coordinate your next visit. Kind regards.
Food wasn’t anything to write home about. Shrimp aguachile lacked salt and acid. Tortilla soup lacked salt and didn’t have the bold flavor normally associated with Mexican cuisine. Cauliflower and filet mignon sashimi were pretty good but they should thicken the peanut sauce for the filet and it would adhere to the protein better. Worst part was when I asked the waiter for a tequila recommendation for my spicy margarita and he suggested Tito’s vodka. 🤷🏽♂️
Good evening, first of all we want to offer an apology for the bad experience. We would love to give us a second chance to improve your opinion. We would like to offer you a dinner for 2 people with the cocktail of your choice.
We really enjoy this restaurant. Surprisingly it wasn’t too busy on a Saturday night, which was great for us. Food is really really good. Especially octopus. Plus our server made us feel amazing. JP super high energy with great recommendations (try their Kentucky mule with passion fruit!). We will definitely be back. Thank you!

We're happy to see that you had a 5-Star experience at Maia House. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful decor, very tasty food, but the servers brought everything almost at once and we couldn't take a break in between meals. They were understanding when we told them to take back the main course so we can finish eating our appetizers.
Hi EffieK, thank you so much for sharing your experience and your opinion about the restaurant! We are so sorry for the inconvenience. We hope you come back!
Food was good but felt like there was always one ingredient missing to tie it all together. They are relatively new but the service could use some improvement—our server don’t really know anything about the food.
Hi Diners36, we are grateful that you took the time out to leave us a review. Your feedback helps us to improve service for everyone
I be there for Mother’s Day, I make reservation, all good on time, The food was really good, but the service was really mediocre, I expected more, urge retraining the waitress and the all personal in general, just some guy come to the table and try to be nice, the drinks I order before food come alfre the second curse, I need to cancel, really good food is a shame the service was really bad

It’s a typical hotel restaurant. Nothing memorable

It wasn’t busy yet it took my server 12 minutes to say hi or even bother to come by my table. Not happy about that, did not enjoy it honestly. Will prob not come back.
The restaurant is beautiful & the food presentation is wonderful. Gourmet style, smaller portions. They handed out sparklers & a tequila shot to all the guests when the restaurant was full. It was a nice festive touch. The manager was very nice & came by several times to ensure all was well. Our waiter was new and a little slow, but overall a very good experience! We’ll be back with friends and/or family.

Great new hidden gem. Will definitely be back. Creative, gourmet Mexican food and interesting cocktails at a reasonable price.

Knowledgeable crew, very friendly and patient. Definitely a repeat spot!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating. We really appreciate your opinion. Please let us know what we can do for you in the future.
Extraordinary place with great and flavorful food. The only complaint was about drink costs: $18 for each Gin & Tonic in a small size glass (overpriced). The service, ambiance and food is really good!
Hi SamRod, thank you so much for coming here and sharing your experience here! We are sorry you feel this way about our drinks prices. We hope you come back soon!
6 oz filet over priced and SALTY
$50 whole red snapper covered with scales to pick from your mouth and with no flavor.
People and service were nice, maybe trying a bit too hard to create a unique culinary experience.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I chose this restaurant based on a couple of good reviews that I read. The experience was beyond disappointing due to extremely poor and inefficient service. After waiting for more than forty minutes, three appetizers arrived without the drink order. The server apologized profusely ensuring that the drinks were on the way. Fifteen more minutes passed and the drinks never arrived. At this point we asked if it was too complicated we could have just two glasses of champagne but he showed up with bottle of white wine and poured two glasses.
At this point we decided that we needed to ask for the check , pay for what we had and leave.
He again apologized but never brought the check.
We had to stand up and on my way out speak to the manager that apparently was aware of the situation and apologized for the inconvenience.
I must say that the three appetizers that we ordered were very tasty and the presentation was good.
Food was great but service was terrible. This was our second time dining here. First time was great and so we returned. This time we were very disappointed. Drinks took 15-20 minutes to arrive, our meals arrived at different times and then they billed us incorrectly. The manager did not show face til we had payed (twice) and were ready to leave. It’s a shame because the restaurant is beautiful and the chef works hard to produce a good meal.
Food was fabulous and the service was great. Unfortunately their patio faces a really busy road and the traffic noise was really loud.
Awesome Food. Corn crusted Chilean Sea Bass with Broth was amazing. Grilled Octopus was incredible. Food and serviece was great! Mixologist is amazing, Spicy Watermelon Margarita with black salt highly recommend. Pull right in and valet park right at the front door. Overall excellent experience. Only downside is the music is loud.
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for sharing your experience here! We hope you come back soon!
Surprisingly really good. Hidden little gem in the Gables. Modern Mexican cuisine. Extremely flavorful! Great portions and extremely well priced. The cocktails are really good, too!!
Hi Marisol, thank you so much for coming here and left us a review!
Went to dinner for food Friday, so seafood was our only options. Every price of fish we ordered was ehh. Ceviche blah, octopus eh, and branzino tasted like panko crusted fish. Ambiance is cool and sexy, but the value missed its mark.
Great service. Little quiet. Needs some local support from gables. Great food and interesting cocktails. Mexican soon on octopus was tasty. Sea bass was perfect
Hi ToddD, thank you so much for your review and sharing your experience here! We hope you come back!
Thank you so much for coming here!
AMAZING. Food was incredible, service outstanding. Best of luck to this fantastic new venue!!!!
Hi, thank you so much for coming here and left us a review!
Portion sizes were very small.
The menu doesn’t provide much description of the meal
The mashed potatoes were wonderful but everything else lacked seasoning.
Food was good but very overpriced, for example soup for $12 and dessert $14. Nothing was sensational for the price. Also menu did not list some of the ingredients in some dishes, like some kind of pig skin in the soup.
Service was very unattentive even though the place was not crowded.
I would not recommend it.
Great food and drinks!
Thank you so much for left us a review!
The food was delicious and the service was very good except the entrees came out to far apart. The problem was the noise level outside. We sat against the building but the noise from the traffic was still too loud.
This little gem. I just love everything about it, the food the drinks, the ambiance... you must try the bao and octopus and I ask for the recommendation for dessert, everything that I have tried has been fabulous.
The food is excellent and the cocktails are fantastic. I loved the guacamole. It’s a very comfortable outdoor setting also. Barbara the mixologist is great. We will definitely be back.
We had a fabulous meal and dining experience at Maia on Saturday night. We sat outside in the courtyard and although close to LeJeune and occasionally loud, it was very pleasant.
Our server Larry, was fabulously personable, paid attention to detail and gave honest recommendations.
We had delicious cocktails and the bar tender even came out to our table to see if we liked them.
Now to the food.. It was fabulous!! From the guacamole, tortilla soup and roasted cauliflower starters to the pork belly taco, vegan taco, tuna tostados and roast chicken dish. All were throughly enjoyed. The flavors blended beautifully and everything was delicious. My only disappointment was the tres leches bread pudding. I thought it was a bit dense and did not compare with the rest of the meal.
I highly recommend Maia and the prices were very good. You will not be disappointed.
