Please take my advice, do not waste you money here. These folks have no idea about traditional Pakistani cuisine. I have been in the restaurant and hospitality field for over 10 years. I can assure you that ain reason people come out to eat is to be served in comfort and style and great food. These folks should be ashamed of themselves for disrespecting traditional Pakistani cuisine. These folks seemed arrogant and ignorant. The waitress was horrible and highly uninformed of serving etiquettes. I will be passing a message to many folks to never visit this place.
Overpriced, Arrogant, Uninformed and Worst Chefs in the kitchen if there was any!
The Sunday buffet is fantastic
This has become one of my favorite Pakistani restaurants in the DFW area. Their food is incredible and the service is even better! You can’t go wrong with the Malai Boti, the Peshawari Karahi, and their lassis. Highly, highly recommend!!
I love to cook Pakistani food from scratch so I am very critical when it comes to taste... I have never found a desi restaurant where the food tastes like it’s homemade. This place is very authentic and don’t use store bought spices such as Shaan masala which gives the food a monotonous taste. You can actually taste the meat etc.
Great food and service. We were seated right away and the staff checked on us frequently. The manager or owner or someone higher up came and welcomed us seeming to recognize it may be our first time, gave us some insight into the prep and spices used which was interesting. The food was delicious. Would go again and definitely recommend!
Top notch service, food and ambiance. Highly recommend Mai Colachi if you want a fine dining experience for Pakistani food.
The Karahis and Kebabs are excellent
Food was excellent and service was good and good ambiance we have been returning customers and take friends their almost every week
This is so good. I had never tried Pakistan food before, only Indian. This was a wonderful introduction to the difference between the two countries flavors and sauces. If you like Indian then you will love these dishes as they have a familiar yet different taste and texture.
Waiter took forever to take order and once he did and the food came out he was to occupied with other tables and didn’t bother to check in with us. Horrible service but the food was on point!! I care to have good service with good food, shouldn’t have to compromise on the service. Seriously either hire more waiters or train the ones you have to be better.
Food and service is very good. All food was fresh and well prepared. Both veg and meat dishes were well prepared.
Extremely busy restaurant on weekends.
The coordination between servers is lacking.
There are plenty of busy established restuarants that have servers assigned to a certain table and they then coordinate with their assistants to serve each table in a profressional, streamlined manner.
The servers at Mai Colachi were taking orders in a haphazard manner and this resulted in delays, not being able to refill water cups etc.
My suggestion is to assign a lead server to each table, give him or her 1-2 assistants to deliver the food and fill water cups/soft drinks etc.
Our server Maisum was great and we do appreciate good service. Thank you Maisum.
Food was delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was quick and amazing. Will definitely be dining here again.
If you don't have food or help to serve people why you take in. And first come first serve is law of business. What ever how close your family or friend come.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The table given to us was for 2 people however we came with our child as well.
It was disappointing since we booked the table through opentable and we were expecting that a proper table will be available for us.
The service was poor because of no coordination among employees.
The place was overcrowded as they were having a party of 80 people which impacted other guests.
At the end, they didn’t bother to thank us as there was no
Food was good but definitely not recommended for special occasions.
We decided to give Mai Colachi a try, almost on a whim. We were very impressed with the samosas we started with, and the fresh juice drinks. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and our main dishes were excellent! The portions are generous, and prices are quite reasonable. The interior is open and tastefully decorated, appropriately lit, and spacious. Highly recommended for South Asian dining!
Everything thing is wonderful at this restaurant. From service to food everything is excellent. Owner himself checked on us twice making sure everything was perfect.
We love going to this place. Last night was our 5th time since they have opened.
Would recommend it very highly.
Server never came back to check on us if everything we order is on the table. Only few menu cards. Food was good need improvement in customer service.
It was an ok experience . Nothing great about this place. Naan was too hard to chew. Other stuff were ok.
It was good but too expensive
Arrogant attitude with other customers - belittled customers that didn’t have reservations, average food, high price, crammed seating arrangement, and above average ambience.
Though this restaurant had ambience and over all good food, the service was horrible! There was not enough staff. I have been twice and both times they bought out one dish at a time, by the time our plates had been picked up and we were ready to go, they bought the last dish! First time we had it packed to go, second time this happened during my second visit, I returned it, but the waiter would not let me cancel the order, I had to argue with him to get it cancelled. They also gave us a bloody piece of meat— then when we complained they told us that it was ketchup or something... we saw it bleed though.. hmm. Nice staff but they don’t know how to serve people correctly.
BBQ is really good ! Service is great , rest is ok
It a very good place to visit - we ordered 6 dishes and desert - other then bihari kabab everything was awesome.
Food was way too spicy for human consumption. Not enough servers. Service was very poor. They opened the restaurant without proper staffing. The whole ambiance was chaotic.
Great food! Hard to get a table here though as they don’t take walk ins.
The best authentic Pakistani food in town. Most humble, courteous and polite hosts. Loved their ambiance and hospitality. Best food!! Highly recommended.
We visited during Ramadan so they were mainly concentrating on the buffet. It was a little spicier than expected which was disappointing. They didn't have much available on the buffet for kids but they did offer us some chicken nuggets off of the a la carte menu which was really good. The service was very good. All of the workers were very attentive and came to check on us often, but not so much to where it gets annoying. Overall, I'd love to visit again when Ramadan is over and see how the restaurant does on a normal day. Will definitely be back to visit.
Good food with great service and environment. We had a great time.
It was crowded. The food wasn’t that great and neither was the service. I hardly ate anything. However, the food was fresh that’s the only reason I am giving three star. I expected the service to be better if they are charging 25 dollar per person.
Great addition to the local DFW scene, we were missing a nice sit down restaurant and now have a place to take our American colleagues to :)
Great place and much needed change with nice decor and service. Food was excellent
