    A very eclectic blend of "I don't Know" from the fake plants on the deck to the continued Irish theme indoors - with sporadic Easter Island statues - it is difficult to determine what this New restaurant is trying to accomplish. The food was sub par, the service - although very very friendly, was lacking significantly in proper dinner service, or pub service for that matter. This place is having a serious identity crisis and needs to correct that fast, otherwise it will be very short lived.

    Ambiance and food were very nice. The service however, needs a lot of work. Pretty slow and inattentive servers, the dudes in suits looked pretty sharp, but they weren’t doing much other than that.

    Don’t come here. Seriously. Waited 25 minutes for our cocktails, after which no one took our order for so long that I had to flag down someone. When we did put our order in, they messed it up so badly that we just ended up splitting my partner’s meal and never getting mine. I felt kinda bad, but I legitimately had to tip zero percent for the horrible service and awful food and experience. I’m sad, because I was really excited for this place - but I will truly never come back and will never recommend this to anyone. I will instead tell everyone how awful it is for the rest of my days. I am devastated because I used to love the old Mahoney’s, But this is a new owner and they’re doing a terrible terrible terrible job. It seems like they fired all their old staff, and their new staff are completely useless, unattended and untrained. I live literally right next-door, but I will never be back 😭😢

    Don’t go. It’s really kind of terrible. The new ownership has added the most terrible fake cherry blossoms and fake plants to what could have been a really beautiful patio! Service is atrocious - from the confused host staff, to waiting 45 minutes for a drink. Everyone working there looks like a fish out of water- totally overwhelmed and ill prepared. The menu is just as confused and random. That is, if your food ever arrives. Literally, don’t go.

    ⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing experience at BAE SIDE (formerly Mahoney’s) We were excited to try BAE SIDE, the new restaurant that took over Mahoney’s at False Creek, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown from start to finish. Despite the restaurant being less than half full, the service was painfully slow. It took about 20 minutes just to get our drink order taken, and things only went downhill from there. Drinks and food took forever to arrive, and one of our appetizers—just a simple hummus and pita—was completely forgotten. When we reminded the server, there was no real apology or urgency to correct the mistake. On top of that, the food and drinks were wildly overpriced for what they were. Nothing stood out in terms of quality or flavour to justify the cost, especially given how disorganized the service was. Really disappointed and won’t be back anytime soon, despite Mahoney’s patio being a regular stop previous summers. False Creek deserves better.

    Worst experience ever especially went the new ownership. Had much better experiences with the old owners. Service was very slow. Had to wait 20 minutes for a receipt. Portion size extremely small. Happy hour prices aren’t much better than normal prices. Server sent the wrong food. All the staff were watching one person clean up broken glass and just talking to one another. WOULD NEVER GO BACK!!!
