lamb chops, ginger, yogurt
It was not busy but it was early in the evening. Tables began to fill as the evening progressed. Our server was very attentive. The food arrived in a timely manner and was hot ( temperature ). We are all rather timid when it comes to spicy food. My husband and I chose a 1 (out of a 1-4 range) Our son chose a spice level of 2. All our choices were delicious. Next time we will be bolder as the food was not to spicy for us.
The service was very good. They were very accommodating especially considering two of our party of eight arrived 30 minutes after our reservation time. The food was good but not as good as we had hoped for.
great food and the server was very knowledgable and tried to give us background on the various foods and what part of india they are from and the history.
Our first time here. Enjoyed it immensely! Service was terrific and food even better. Nice to have a go-to Indian restaurant in my area. Parking can be a nightmare but they have a dedicated location north of restaurant and across the street.
The food was great as usual. Last time we went service was very slow. This time it was very timely. Zach, who served us was very courteous and punctual. He visited us several times to make sure that everything was OK. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
We loved our entire experience! The staff was very helpful with ordering a variety of foods for us to try since we were new.
I like how dishes can be done non truly non spicy for
The server seemed off-put by our presence and left us without ordering for about half an hour. We usually have a wonderful experience with service, but have never had this server before. We dine here frequently, the food was wonderful as usual.
Maharajah never disappoints. Christmas Eve was incredibly busy but the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Food was spectacular great spice level and fresh flavors. Thank you for making a memorable experience for our family.
The food and service was great. We love Maharaja and it's our Christmas Eve destination.
Love this restaurant, very authentic!
I also love the fact that the owner walks around and greet everyone at their table to see how everything is going!
A solid place for Indian cuisine. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was on our table quickly after we ordered and well prepared.
For a casual Indian meal, it's reasonable and the staff are very nice.
We always enjoy our dining experience at Maharaja. The food and service are always excellent.
We got in late for buffet but the staff accommodated us and made us feel special. They provided food from the menu and also gave us dessert on the house. The owner also provided treats from the closing buffet. Very nice and caring people. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. Overall, a satisfying and rewarding experience.
The food is amazing. We enjoyed the lunch buffet with its many choices. We appreciated the friendly greeting and service and the quiet ambiance for good conversation with friends.
The food is outstanding and is reasonably priced. The staff is friendly.
We were delighted with the service to explain the dishes, ingredients and level of spice. We were also able to determine if some items were available on the luncheon menu and for takeout/delivery. I loved the Mulligatony soup and order it for takeout.
We were pleased with the snack, salad and soup while we waited for our main course. The two dishes were very good and nearly gone but the serving size was appreciated. Next time we will try a dessert.
This was our first time here. Don't be afraid of location or outside look. This is a wonderful restaurant with amazing food and friendly service. We ate early in the evening so we can't comment on noise level when full but for our time it was delightful for conversation. The food was excellent and came out quickly. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu.
Honestly, words can’t describe the amount of amazing flavors I experienced with my taste buds tonight. I whole-heartedly encourage everyone to just try the food at Maharaja once to see for yourself. I’ve been to a plethora of Indian restaurants across the U.S, and can instantly tell the food here is made from scratch, and actually authentic, rather than laced with tomato purée, or made with frozen vegetables. Just try it once and you’ll see. My taste buds can’t wait to be back soon during my next visit to Milwaukee!😃
I use to go to Maharaja years ago and loved it. My brother and I were ecstatic to be back in the city and go to Maharaja. We were very disappointed in the food--it was definitely freshly made but lacked flavor. I remember all the food packing a punch and we were very disappointed. I asked the waitress for some spice and was brought a small ramekin of garlic siracha...it didn't help. I hope that maybe this was a fluke because it used to be the best in Milwaukee.
We have gone to this place so many times, but not anymore. The food quality and service have all gone down hill.
Service was excellent. We always order off menu so that we can take leftovers home but the majority of patrons were here to “tie the feed bag on.” They really turn out for their very successful buffet lunch. The chicken korma was good but I could have done without the pieces of fat. Every korma is different. Everyone has different likes. Not to be negative because the korma was excellent I have to say I prefer Asian Fusion in Waukesha. Also there were no variety of rices to choose from. It’s all balsamic rice. I prefer a more flavored rice. Everything was really excellent. I would definitely go back. If we are downtown again I would like to go back n try other dishes. I do not participate in buffets. Studies have been done that prove the majority of men do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. That was it for me n buffets. I am not using the same serving spoons. The restaurant was almost packed when we left, which proves they have many happy customers. I love Indian food, thank you for enjoyable lunch!
The service and food were outstanding. Our waiter was awesome. Decor and ambiance were dated so it dropped the rating from a 5 to a 4. It is the best Indian food in Milwaukee
Friends visiting from Austin TX
Delicious and fresh food! Lots of options. Excellent service!
Always quality food. Most consistent Indian spot downtown.
This is one of our favorite restaurants with great food and service. We love both their buffet for lunch or their dinner for a nice evening.
Excellent date restaurant or trying something different. I would recommend to anyone. I even got my wife to try lamb. She was pleasantly surprised.
Simply outstanding food, and a great experience. I can’t wait to go back!
We introduced a couple of friends to Indian cuisine at Maharajah on Friday. They enjoyed the food and ambiance and so did my son. We’ll definitely be back!
Perfect as usual. We had the lunch buffet and all the flavors were amazing. Hope to be back soon.
Generally good food on the buffet. Palak paneer was not as good as it usually is. The mango ice cream is amazing.
We always have exceptionally good food and service at Maharaja. I wished we lived closer to this restaurant.
Our family had a wonderful and pleasant meal at Maharaja. The food was delicious, the service was very professional, and the atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming.
This place was amazing!
Love the food, definitely will visit again!
Not an Indian food expert. Was provided great suggestions by server. Food was amazing and great. Will return.
it was valentines day and my friend and i went to the maharaja before going to a show at shank hall. from the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed and well treated by the bright and cheerful staff. after having a bevvy at the bar, we were quickly seated. our table was laid simply but elegantly with a lovely valentines floral arrangement. our very engaging server was patient with us (we had many questions as we had never been there) and offered great recommendations. our choices were all served in a timely manner and were well prepared and very tasty. the owner even came to our table to inquire after our satisfaction to which we gave an enthusiastic two thumbs up. the meal ended with a delicious dessert made especially for the day. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all for a very reasonable price. i would wholeheartedly recommend maharaja.
My husband has been trying to get me to go to Maharaja since we moved to Milwaukee. We only live 5 blocks away. We brought another couple along with us. Portions were large and the food was spiced just right. The shashi korma with lamb was so good. The naan was excellent. We will be back.
always great food and service. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
