I love this place. The hit the mark on original drinks, apps, food, and dessert. Presentation and service are awesome!! cant say enough great things!
I love the atmosphere and drinks at Mahalo but this is my 4th time trying it out for dinner and each time i feel the quality goes down a notch. I invited a friend for (what i was hoping) a cool atmosphere with good food but was disappointed. I would definitely go back but in the summer for drinks on the rooftop.
Huge downgrade in menu quality and ambiance since it opened. Most expensive pile of rice with mayo I've ever had. If you're looking for poke or ramen (what the menu seems to focus on now) there are plenty of better options in the neighborhood.
The restaurant itself is super cute and the food was delicious! I recommend the virgin pina colada
I’ve walked by Mahalo several time and have always wanted to give it a try. Loved the food, energy and experience overall. It’s impossible to leave this place unhappy. I will definitely be back!
It was great
Very good always great service and food. The manager prepared us a drink that was not on the menu and my wife had enjoyed last year while celebrating her birthday, and at the end went us a courtesy dessert! You guys rock!
We went for a birthday and the food was very bland and not at all what I wxpected
Honestly the ramen was bland. The building itself was lovely and the drinks were good though!
We went to Mahalo in preparation for our upcoming honeymoon to Hawaii. Beach theme decor made sense but the high-top chairs were uncomfortable. More importantly, the food was mediocre. Nothing special about the dishes or flavors. Best thing we ate was the ahi tuna nachos.
Awesome vibe and even better drinks. Food was mediocre at best and service was horrible. It took 45 min to get our first round of drinks. We were there from 8:00pm-11:00pm for dinner and only had 2 rounds as no one came back to check on us. Once I complained, Manager did apologize and handled situation well. Highly recommend for a cocktail but would catch dinner somewhere else nearby.
Food is always fresh and delish! Relaxed environment. Nice people. Attentive General Manager.
Birthday dinner, first off we did arrive late, and they did hold our table so I’m thankful! The server as far as I could tell was training, bc they kept bring food that wasn’t for us. Over all we did enjoy the atmosphere, and food!
I was really looking forward to a fun lunch at Mahalo but honestly, the food lacked flavor and the service was really odd. The place was almost completely empty during lunch which was a sign. We ordered the restaurant week menu and I chose the shrimp ramen. It was totally devoid of flavor. The broth was bland, the shrimp were tiny (looked like shrimp sold in the frozen section of a grocery store), and the dish was pretty but flavorless. the weirdest thing about our experience was the service. Although attentive, the server brought everything way too fast. 10 minutes after we got our entrees and were in the middle of eating ramen, she plopped down 2 ice creams on our table and said here is dessert. Clearly, we were not even close to done with entrees and as a result, he ice cream sat untouched, and melted, for another 20 minutes.
A great change of pace for an everyday night out for dinner. Poke bowl was particularly flavorful. Cocktails were a little disappointing
Went jere for lunch during Restaurant Week, and was really pleased with the freshness of the poke, and delicious dessert. A great find, and I will be back!
Service and food were great. Music was fun but I swear they knew my favorite songs and changed the music in the middle of them. Otherwise 10/10
We did the restaurant week brunch menu. The appetizers and entrees were great and generously sized. Loved that they did 2 smaller portions of the appetizer so you could taste both. The potstickers were delicious. Dessert is where things really fell apart. The ice cream was frozen rainbow sherbet that looks like it came in one of the giant tubs from a grocery store. Banana pineapple pudding lacked much flavor. Overall we enjoyed it and I’d go back, but skip dessert.
Came here for restaurant week. Excellent value, fun vibes, creative menu.
We went many times before and food was delicious, something is missing, wasn’t the same, sad and disappointed because used to be wonderful, now just ok.
Loved the aesthetic and most all of the food. Service was fantastic.
Took my little man on a lunch date on a snowy day and we really had a fun time! Good music and easy for him to walk around and mingle haha such as toddlers do. Great coconut shrimp app and my son really enjoyed the bbq platter!!
Food was great! Loved the music and atmosphere!
Ambiance is super fun & probably even better during the summer. You do feel like your in a tropical area depute wearing snow boots.
The menu is fun but not inventive. We tried several appetizers and they were alright but tasted like they were served out of a warming dish in back. None were hot or crisp & they were all over sauced.
Main courses were large & again felt like they were scooped into the plates. Tasted fine.
No rush to go back.
The food was delicious but the service was lacking. Took someone almost 20 minutes to greet us after being seated and the server was pretty much nonexistent the rest of the night, except for when she was trying to get us to buy more food.
I've been here three times now and do really enjoy the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant as a whole. The fruity drinks are fun (if not slightly overpriced) and the food is decent. We took a few friends for New Years Eve and had a nice time.
Loved Mahalo! If you have ever been to Hawaii you can close your eyes and feel like you are sitting right back at a beach restaurant. Awesome vibes and decor with an island feel. The Poke bowls are amazing and half price on Tuesdays!
One of the most disappointing experiences. One of the most disappointing experiences.
Pleasantly surprised with Mahalo. The chicken katsu sandwich was a last second, wildcard order for my entree and it was the right choice. Thin slices of fried chicken with a sweet coleslaw on a brioche bun. Damn Daniel.
So fun! Awesome cocktails and everything we tried I’d order again. Vegetarian ramen can sometimes be underwhelming, this stuff had even carnivores impressed! Huge portions too.
Food and service was good. One disappointment was the appetizer we ordered “ahi tuna nachos” is why we came back was changed to fried nacho chips instead of the taro chips they prepare in their kitchen. Just a note that you should read the menu carefully which I did not and there wasabi aioli in both dishes we ordered had it on. That is my fault not theirs as I hate wasabi on anything I am eating. I wanted to try the fish taco and again was not happy as they have them prepared as stick style cut instead os small pieces and was not happy, but again that was not their fault. It was prepared well and again wasabi aioli on top. Will I come back that would be a big question as I go there for the appetizer really and it changed. So we will see what future they would have on my restaurant list.
Wasn’t quite authentic. Poke was wrong which may have something to do with a Chicago Poke trend - it was just sushi.
Pork rice was strange.
Kona and Maui beers were good. Staff was very friendly
We went for Ramen for my 9 year-old son's birthday. Great food and good pricing! Our waitress was Tatem and she was awesome, catering to both a child and his grandparents with ease. She made great recs and offered great service. The food was great! I like the place - good food and cool vibes.
Had the spicy tuna with rice. Much better than last time.
Kinda bummed they ran out of the wine I was drinking. But other than that everything was perfect.
Waitress sat us on a table of 10 when we were a party of 3. And they keeper bring up food that was not for us. Food was not great either.
The portions are small for the price but the quality and service make up for it. I️ wouldn’t make it a regular spot but I’d visit every once in a while.
Excellent Good! If you're looking for something a little different you'll enjoy Mahalo.
We were looking for something different, and Mahalo delivered. The location was very convenient and the menu was full of great dishes which we will have to return to try. The food was delicious, the portions were decently sized, and dessert was awesome. Highly recommended.
If you enjoy beer, try the Kona Brewing Co. Big Wave Golden Ale.
Great place for boozy brunch! Drinks are fantastic + the poke bowls are a great fresh pairing. Do it!
Go if you want to pay a bunch of money only to order a pizza two hours later, go here.
