Good experience ,delicious food
Enjoyed each dishes
At the end we had special Arabia coffee
Only negative point is menu description was hard to read in dim lights
it was a great meal; we really should get there more often!
I’ve been here a couple of times mainly on special occasions and haven’t had any issues with the waitresses as they’ve always been lovely and 100% excellent service, but this time the waiter we had spoke in a rough, annoyed manner. Her accent was strong so we had to ask back/forth a couple of times so wasn’t sure if that was what annoyed her. The word I used was can we please get the banquet menu and she snapped ‘no banquet here only set menu.’ She was definitely different to the other waitresses we normally get who were friendly and gentle.
We chose the four course option from an excellent selection of set menus with matching wines. The menu items were of middle eastern origin but made from largely locally sourced ingredients. The wines were of diverse origin, French, German and from the Bakkah Valley of Jordan. Each was an excellent accompaniment to the associated dish. Really well matched to the food. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the pace of the meal suited us perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys something a little different.
Maha is a very good restaurant in a basic but developing part of the melbourne CBD. The flavours are very good but for lunch Monday the menu is quite tight which I understand as the patronage will be limited. The service was first class and the wine list ( the most important thing) was very good. Had not been there for 5 years but need to go back ASAP.
Have been to Maha for dinner and lunch on seperate occasions. Food is exceptional as is the service. Maha has an extensive wine list, which includes wines from the middle east. The blanc de blanc from Lebanon went extremely well with the meal. The set menus provide an interesting and well balanced variety.
Always an enjoyable experience with not to much to have to think about. Great degustation.
3 of us have been there before - fourth .. you have a new fan !
The degustation with matching wines were fabulous; the baby barramundi was the best we have ever eaten.
Cosmopolitan’s ... perfect.
Lovely team.
We did the 8 course with matching wines and could not fault one thing that we had! The food and wine was amazing, the staff were attentive and knew what they were talking about.
Will be back.
Excellent food, vibe and service. Will be back.
Amazing flavours, great wine list, relaxing ambience and top service.
For $110pp set menu I would expect a couple of excellent dishes. Food was to salty (lamb main), small portions. This set menu should be valued at $80pp - expensive for no stand out dish. Best dish would be hummus, service was very good
Wonderful food with amazing flavours. Great service and a great wine list. No hesitation recommending Maha to anyone!
After a 3 year wait, and 1 false start, I finally made it to Maha and it was so bloody worth the wait!
Celebrating a friends 50th, we flew from Sydney for the day. We chose the 4 course degustation lunch menu with paired wines.
From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and welcoming. Our Sommelier was very knowledgable and humorous and shared his information well. Our waitress was so fluid and unobtrusive and so knowledgable with the ingredients and menu, not a hesitation when discussing the menu items.
Our food arrived in an expected time (after our champagne!) and was so beautifully presented and every morsel was delightful and delicious. After our lunch, but before dessert, we were afforded a private tour of the wine cellar followed by a meet and greet in the kitchen with the Head Chef. The kitchen shared some new dessert options they were testing which were sublime.
I loved this place and think its one of Melbourne's highlights. Thanks Maha. !
Really great experience here - not just food - its like walking into a genie bottle!
Always amazing food. You won't be disappointed. Reasonably priced food but wine is pretty expensive.
Amazing restaurant. Service fantastic refit brilliant but most importantly the food is exactly what it needs to be, first rate and very yummy.
This is my Second time at MAha, it was equally as enjoyable as the first. It’s quickly becoming a favourite.
Was very fun - everyone looked after us
My friend visiting from Sydney and I went to Maha for a Sunday long lunch. When we arrived we waited and had a cocktail whilst our table was prepared and were warmly welcomed by the host
My friend is vegan and the staff were very accommodating to her dietary restrictions, all of the dishes were thoughtful and delicious.
Great crew and quick express lunch
Checked out the new decor of the newly renovated Maha with a Melbourne Food and Wine Festival lunch special, a choice between two entrees and two mains + a glass of wine, either red or white. I had the cured kingfish and the chicken and a glass og Pinot Grigio.
I went with a group of four for "Restaurant Express" during the Food & Wine festival. Our food was excellent, and the service very good. The advertised 2 course lunch was only a tiny entree and a small main - others restaurants offer any 2 courses off the main menu. But it was still great value. As an older foodie, I find Maha too dark.
Highly recommend this place!
Really enjoyed the lunch and I'll be coming back. My only regret was having time for the 2 course meal only. Next time - I'm making time for the 4 course. Definitely.
Enjoy it lovely Halal in my life actually first time to embrace myself in halal fixed course menu nice well done ~
Had the six course menu and we all loved every bit of it..staff very pleasant & professional
We had one of our group of 4 that didn’t like garlic in her meals and another that didn’t eat seafood but that was easily catered for..thank you for a great night
We had a great afternoon with lovely food and excellent service
Loved our Friday lunch of four courses with matching wines. Delicious and good value.
The food is generous and pretty delicious. I'm not overly enamoured by the subterranean space but I'm sure a lot of people would love it. We enjoyed our meal very much and would return.
It was excellent meal with fantastic staff The staff were knowledgable and super friendly
Food was amazing as always. Love experiencing the new menu and the Spice Journey theme gives a great twist to the Mediterranean theme. The Pomegranate Sour is the best drink hands down. The service was outstanding. Highly recommended.
Ok food but nothing special.
Restaurant was empty but I got the worst Table in whole arra
Invited an Indian guest. First checked the cuisine was suitable. He was blown away & thought MAHA was a great choice. He would never has chosen Middle Eastern cuisine
Great long lunch matched wine menu. We did the four course menu
Earlier dishes in the set lunch were lacking in flavour.
The food was excellent, service was quick and efficient. The staff were informative and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely dine there again.
We booked for a four course weekend spice lunch and we walked away stuffed! So much food and all amazing. Of the table of four, one was vegetarian and one was vegan and everyone was catered for above and beyond.
Fabulous food, superb service, great atmosphere.
Never fails to deliver a great selection of beautiful food. We always have the degustation menu.
It is an all-round experience starting with the discrete entrance into an dusky subterranean den. Excellent service from attentive staff and a great choice of drinks. The degustation menu is simply stunning. The swordfish and olives are so flavoursome. The slow cooked lamb melts in your mouth. The hommus is smooth as silk and delicious. The whole experience ticks all boxes for exceptional food at a reasonable price and excellence in customer service. We recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
Service was excellent, pace of the meal was just right. food was amazing and just the right amount to allow you to eat everythimh and not feel you had had too much!!
We had followed Shane Delia's cooking show on TV and the food definitely lived up to our expectations!
A wonderful 2.5 hour lunch
