On the occasion of my annual trip to Charleston, it’s a must do while I’m here. Service and food was excellent.
What a charming restaurant! We had never been there before and thought the atmosphere was cozy and warm. Very friendly staff. This is a nice place for a quiet romantic quaint dinner. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! This will become a definite spot for us to return to in Old Town. Highly recommend.
This was my first visit for brunch. And because I want this restaurant to be one of my go to places; I would like to return during the week for lunch/dinner before giving a review.
The food and service were outstanding. The staff all seemed to work as a team to ensure that the guests had whatever their table needed. The servings were generous, but not too much. I had enough to share. We went for brunch and will certainly go back for dinner.
I’m a first-timer. I enjoyed the experience; and food was delicious. Initially service was slow due to what appeared to be a high volume of patrons. It was pretty busy. The staff more than made up for the initial delay. I plan to return.
I luv this place, the staff is a little slow but good. This is my go to spot. The food is fantastic and I always recommend this place to my friends.
Food and service was great! I went twice in one weekend! King St best kept secret!
We went for Sunday brunch. The food was good. Enjoyed the fried chicken benedict. It was very filling and the chicken was tender. I wish there was more variety to the menu options. I may come back for dinner sometime.
This place is superb. Perfect spot for a date night. The service and food were both top notch.
We went as a late Valentine’s Day dinner. The ambiance was great, our server was very attentive. Small and quaint. The food was very good, large portions so you can share if you want, wish my daughter and I would have done that. We had the fried chicken with gravy. The fried chicken was tender, the mashed potatoes needed a tad of salt and the sausage gravy was good as well. My husband had the pork chops, again it came with 2 nice size chops so you can share. Some dishes you do have to have to order sides. I would describe it as an upscale soul food restaurant that is very quaint. We were told the upstairs had a bar and lounge area, but we were with our children so we couldn’t partake. The only downside was no children’s menu. Overall we would go back.
Great food and great service. We had a table by the window and the fireplace was nearby. Food was delicious.
Our daughter recommended Magnolias to us and we are so glad that she did. We dined there on Valentine Day and it was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend it for a romantic dinner date.
First, our sever Emily was the best! Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's a warm cozy little room. Good comfort food with a touch of high end flair.
Beautiful restaurant and very kind staff, but our food took almost an hour to come out and our waiter seemed to be avoiding coming to our table rather than apologizing for the wait or letting us know the food would take a bit longer. Overall, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere but won’t be returning due to the wait time and non attentive service.
The owner/chef attended to all the guests and made us feel very comfortable! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! I will be going back for brunch in 2 days!
Fantastic brunch - great food but the staff is the secret ingredient
Celebrated a retirement with our family. The selections were good. The deviled egg and fried pickle appetizers were delicious. The entres were good. The "Bees Knees" gin & Tonic was excellent. Our suggestions are the wait staff should either take the plates back to the kitchen to put them in "take-away" containers or at least do it at the table. Also we had to request clean silverware for each course. We also thought the prices were a little high.
Great service and food was amazing! Had a lovely seat by the window - server was exceptional - very attentive, noise level low and lighting perfect. Had shrimp and grits and pork chops deviled eggs and fried dill pickles and all dishes so flavorful and fresh. I am from the south and so am particular about al these dishes! They exceeded my expectations! Lovely dining experience and we will be back!
Magnolia's is a cozy charming venue serving inspired dishes and drinks with a side of Southern hospitality a part of every offering. While each dining area provides unique ambiance, great food, libations and service, there is just something special about experiencing the second floor Palm Lounge and Bar with it's glowing fireplace and view of sparkling lights on King Street on a chilly winter's night. Great happy hour, brunch and weekly specials to explore! Special thanks to Emily and Luna for making my long anticipated reunion with a friend a night to remember - in all the best ways. Magnolia's is truly a neighborhood gem.
I liked that the waiter knew to hand us two separate checks.
The food and staff were amazing. Cant wait to go back!!
A return visit with friends to a fun restaurant--- excellent food and cocktails. Service was a little awkward and slow, no doubt due to the restaurant week crowds which were filling the place. We'll return again, sometime soon-
Great service. Great food. Crab dip good. Fish and grits great.
Our office team chose Magnolia's for lunch during Restaurant Week. We had been to New Orleans for an annual meeting and wanted to relive our wonderful dining experiences in that 'foodie' city. Magnolia's was perfect! Service was excellent and meals were delicious. We understand that opening for lunch is an experiment for Magnolia's - we hope it was successful!
Very good food and service!
Nice place for brunch!
Came for brunch, standard fare but great atmosphere upstairs.
At either brunch or dinner, if the stuffed dates are offered, order them!
One of my favorite restaurants in Old Town. As to be expected, they were very busy for Alexandria Restaurant Week, but the food and drinks are well worth the wait.
Great dinner for restaurant week. Server was attentive and loved the music.
Loved the meal and the New Old Fashioned drink was super!
First time at Magnolia’s on King and I will definitely be back! If you love authentic southern comfort food then look no further. Delicious shrimp & grits and jambalaya! The maple roasted Brussels sprouts were so yummy!
On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and attentive. That being said, the New Year's Eve menu was very limited and disappointing -- particularly given the price. The food was bland and the noise level was so loud (with only about 15 diners in the room where we were seated) that it was difficult to have a conversation. And the noise was only from people's voices. For this festive evening, there was no special program -- simply a meal with an increased price. But, that being said, as noted, the staff were friendly and attentive.
