Magnolia Brewing – Dogpatch
Magnolia Dogpatch is an independent brewery, full-service restaurant, beer garden, and event space where guests can enjoy a diverse selection of craft beer and modern American fare inspired by San Francisco’s rich culinary heritage. For over 20 years, Magnolia Brewing has been a part of San Francisco’s burgeoning beer scene, producing beloved and award-winning ales in two historic locations: the heart of the Haight and, more recently, the Dogpatch neighborhood. We honor the brewing traditions that fueled our beginnings, introducing new interpretations of classic styles and time-honored serving techniques such as cask conditioned ales and wood-aged beers. It's the way beer, food and hospitality come together that makes a good brewery and restaurant an essential part of the fabric of a community.

Fun, casual place. Nice that they have great beer, but also have a bar. Food was good. Messed up on our order (avocado on salad for person with an allergy), but food and service were very good.
Have always wanted to eat at the Haight location but decided on Dogpatch prior to a concert - great service, yummy food and fab music!
Magnolia Brewing has a very attractive room. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. I'm impressed that there are so many things I would like to try. I plan to go back asap.
Magnolia was a pleasant surprise. Great service and decor, and the food was fantastic. I have food allergies and not only were they helpful and accommodating, I didn't feel like I had to sacrifice choices. Nice wines as well. Would love to go back.
Fabulous food - yum city! Service was friendly and she made great recommendations which is always appreciated when a server knows the menu so well. Truly can’t wait to come back.
Oh and the drinks? Dynamite!
Great for pre Chase dinners !!!
We don’t get to the city very often. Magnolia Brewing was a great casual dinner before the Elton John concert. Service was remarkably good — not only our waiter, but the whole staff.
Excellent fried fish sandwich!
Lunch menu is very limited. Not much to choose from.
Exceeded all expectations for food and beer; service was excellent, knowledgeable and attentive.
The service and recommendations from the server were the best part. This is my second time going there and having Felix as my server. He made great recommendations that were perfect for both me and my friend. This is a great neighborhood spot.
Had a reservation on open table for a special occasion with family in town. Arrived on time only for them to say “sorry we double booked and have no tables for you”... even though there was another open table for 4 open right in front us. Seriously baffled, was it our appearance or race? They clearly preferred the other table of 4 that hadn’t shown up yet.
On top of it, the “manager” got nasty and hostile with me, to the point my guests saw the exchange and walked up to stop his barking at me, saying they didn’t want to be there anymore... Luckily walked next door to a better place- Serpentine. They too were booked for the night but after explaining what happened next door, they kindly adjusted and seated us at a table. Wonderful service at Serpentine, joke of a management at Mongolia. Can’t wait to see this place and joke of a “brewery” shut down.
The waiter forgot to put our order in and they were short staffed. Comped a drink, but it was still a very disappointing experience considering I’ve had a good time there before
The experience was great other than finding the windows of our 2 week old car smashed. Nothing to do with the restaurant of course but we’ll be super careful parking next time!
Very friendly staff. We did have to wait quite a while for our server to bring us our check. We kept looking for him. Other than that, good experience.
THe food was very yummy, but the value appears to have declined since our last visit which was shortly after they reopened. The large caesar salad was the smallest "large" I've every experienced. We even checked with the waiter to see if he heard "large". The steak entree was that - just steak at $28. They are definitely catering to the tech crowd not locals :(
Lovely space. Delicious donuts
Such an awesome spot!
Kind and friendly staff.
Solid place to grab lunch and a beer. The black lager is one of my favs. Also, salt and pepper shrimp all day every day.
Had the veggie flatbread. Was great! Also had the chicken, also great! Good food and good drink overall.
Great beer selection (duh) and good food. more than just burgers. Flatbreads are excellent.
The broken falafel salad is always a winner, but this time the falafel was overdone. The team there is very nice.
Server didn’t write down our order and had to come back and ask
Good Bloody Mary, but for the price I expected a full pint
Burger was yummy! Had deviled eggs to start and my friend ordered the fried shrimp and peppers which was also great. It was a busy night so service was a little slow but overall enjoyed the food and beer!
The general manager, Brandon, was amazing! He took such great care of my friends and I.
Sat at the bar and had great service from bartender...let me try many samples before ordering...food arrive promptly ...couldn’t be happier
They didn’t have an opening for us despite showing an opening at every time slot. There was a mix up on their end and they waited for me to arrive before telling me. The options were sit at the bar or on their bleachers with no table. We were content sitting at the bar but then there was a problem with everything we ordered from beer to the main courses. I have been before and had much better experiences.
We are long time Dogpatch residents and generally love the new Magnolia. However, we have noticed on the last few visits that the service is really poor. On Friday night, there were several hostesses who just stood at the hostess stand chatting. They should have been helping the servers, especially ours, who left us waiting for over 20 minutes before taking our order. We witnessed the manager (we think it was him....the guy in the baseball hat, who wandered around but never interacted with the guests) having a beer toast with the bartender and chef. The food is consistent and good, but we are really put off by the inconsistent, lackadaisical service. It’s a restaurant not a college gathering.
Worst service I’ve ever experienced
Great beer and a new menu/chef which rock!
Best for brunch or apps/drinks.
Great food! went for the SF Restaurant Week and the menu was delicious and generous portions. beer pairing was tasty and interesting, toning down the sweetness of the courses with some bitterness. Would love to come back for more.
SF Restaurant Week
We are now obsessed with magnolia. The staff is so helpful and knowledge about the beer list. Great service and ambiance. Even though they are big for beer, the Cocktails are great too!
Pleasantly surprised by this Magnolia Brewing location - great beer and a beautifully designed space. The staff was really nice too.
Most brunch places in Dogpatch can be difficult to reserve for a Sunday brunch and can be a bit pricey (you never know what your friends can really spend). This place is much easier to coordinate for larger groups and the prices are really decent. It's an energetic spot, sort of like a modern beer hall. We had a good time and everyone was happy with their food.
