Magnolia Dogpatch is an independent brewery, full-service restaurant, beer garden, and event space where guests can enjoy a diverse selection of craft beer and modern American fare inspired by San Francisco’s rich culinary heritage. For over 20 years, Magnolia Brewing has been a part of San Francisco’s burgeoning beer scene, producing beloved and award-winning ales in two historic locations: the heart of the Haight and, more recently, the Dogpatch neighborhood. We honor the brewing traditions that fueled our beginnings, introducing new interpretations of classic styles and time-honored serving techniques such as cask conditioned ales and wood-aged beers. Worst service I’ve ever experienced
Great beer and a new menu/chef which rock!
Best for brunch or apps/drinks.
Great food! went for the SF Restaurant Week and the menu was delicious and generous portions. beer pairing was tasty and interesting, toning down the sweetness of the courses with some bitterness. Would love to come back for more.

We are now obsessed with magnolia. The staff is so helpful and knowledge about the beer list. Great service and ambiance. Even though they are big for beer, the Cocktails are great too!

Most brunch places in Dogpatch can be difficult to reserve for a Sunday brunch and can be a bit pricey (you never know what your friends can really spend). This place is much easier to coordinate for larger groups and the prices are really decent. It's an energetic spot, sort of like a modern beer hall. We had a good time and everyone was happy with their food.
This place is. Ear our home and I had attended a college function here not long ago. The food is good offering many vegetarian options. The noise level especially in the back “bleacher” section is over the top LOUD! They’ve recently remodeled but still need to work on improving the acoustics-too many hard surfaces they need some cloth or cork to tone things down. It’s hard to hear your guests while dining-which is a bummer
My friends and I went for brunch this weekend. The food was absolutely amazing, the beer cheese was to die for and the mimosas were delicious! I will be coming back here to try the beer ASAP. The atmosphere was great and the decorations were lovely.
Came for brunch on a Saturday. While the menu looked appealing I didn’t enjoy the food too much. We shared the deviled eggs and the donuts and they were very average, I wouldn’t recommend. I got the eggs Benedict and that was a disappointment: the sauce was bland and too liquid and the overall dish wasn’t great.
I think it’s probably a much better place for a happy hour or some bites with friends so I would give it another try at night time!

Our server (Caitlin) was fantastic, bringing a few beer samples to help us select the final pint. Food was great, the ambiance was energetic (except for a few moments when a toddler was having a fit, but those things are unavoidable). The interior is AMAZING, really unique architecture and decor. Would definitely go again with friends or the husband!
Food is good, lots of drink selection
We stumbled upon Magnolia while searching for a place to eat before attending a show at the Midway SF. I’ve been a fan of the Haight St. location for many years, but did not realize that they had opened another location in the Dogpatch! Lucky surprise for us! Very hip ambiance, friendly, attentive service and delicious and well-portioned food. We enjoyed it very much!
We loved our food and the experience at Magnolia. We tried several beers, all of which were unique and delicious. We had the chicken, the fish sandwich, and the rigatoni. The favorite was definitely the fish sandwich— so yummy! Overall, I’ll definitely be back and would recommend.
Rigatoni was terrible. Confessed to waiter and they comped the entree. Beer good, food bad.
Second visit to Magnolia. This time for brunch. Our collective is that they are still figuring it all out. I have no doubt they’ll get there.
Small bites&appetizers are on point. Delicious/ good value. We had deviled eggs with bacon and fries: yum. And Bloody Marys and beer were all terrific.
The mains are still hit or miss. For the second visit in a row, my main arrived cold. The egg was poached niceley and smoked ham had terrific flavor. But egg& hollandaise & ham were cool (yikes). Greens and tomato: cold. Biscuit under it all: refrigerator cold.
As were everyone else’s Eggs Benedict at the table. Not something you want in an egg dish.
Service is getting there—friendly and quick. But details are lacking sometimes (ie asked for condiments that never came/ asked how ham in our breakfast was prepared and server didn’t know).
So we’ll be back. For bites and drinks. But no more meals for a few months. Till the kinks have been ironed out.
We loved it here! They just opened a week ago. Staff was friendly and accommodating, service was speedy, food, cocktails, and beer were yummy! Love the decor. There's a "beer garden" in the back (it's indoor seating). They have the Impossible Burger and it was delicious! My carnivore SO even said so! 10/10 would recommend
Magnolia Dogpatch is dressed up in 60’s-mod meets stripped-down-warehouse. Beautiful custom lighting, cool painted walls and stylish booths make for a pleasing aesthetic.
Service was friendly, attentive and speedy.
We ordered a flight of beer and fondue to start—definitely recommend.
Had the pork chop and an Impossible Burger. Pork chop was one of the best we’ve had in town: crispy, juicy, perfect accoutrements. Will order again.
Impossible burger was barely cooked and cold. Thumbs down. Pretty sure those need to reach a certain internal temp... just sayin.
Fries were crispy and perfect.
We’ll be back as we live down the block. Just ordering something else...maybe the fish sandwich!? Mmm.
We went here after it relaunched, being a fan of Smokestack before. The beer is just as good, but the food is terrible. It has the run of the mill California cuisine restaurant menu without any edge to it. At least Smokestack was distinct, and beer and meat go well together. Will still go back for the beers, but not the food.
