Magnolia Brewing - Haight
the torch while pushing the envelope with eclectic ingredients, innovative
techniques, and community focused business practices.
Our Haight St. location has come a long way from an artisan brewery
shoe-horned into a tiny basement of a storied building, but we’re still true to
our roots. The Haight Street brewpub is where it all began and features our
innovative beer matched with San Francisco-Inspired fare. What
better place to enjoy a Magnolia Beer than where it was born?
Good...limited menu for food, but good selection from their brewery.
The beer was disappointing. All of the beers I tried in my beer flight sounded great, on-paper, but didn’t live up to their promise. The beer was better when I was last here, several years ago, before the sale to New Belgium. I do t know if this is coincidental.
Fresh, delicious, out-of-the-box food and fantastic beer! Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Neat decor.
Awesome experience. Excellent service and food!
The beer selection is usually stellar but unfortunately, the Sunday we were there, they were out of most of their beers, due to the Outside Lands 3-day concert in Golden Gate Park. The food is always tasty, especially the rustic pate, hand-made sausages and short ribs entree.
Too loud and music was also blaring... Food was disappointing, greasy and the chicken was rubbery.
My go-to place in the hood. Great spot for beer and cheese, and more beer.
One of the 1st bars I fell in love with in San Francisco. I booked a table because I wanted to bring my father here to show off. I won’t be bringing anyone else again.
The table I was put at was beside the door, behind a wooden panel with no view of anything else except the door that kept swinging open and a big wooden a panel. I asked to move but was told it was too busy even though there was 3/4 empty tables. People were sat no problem at these tables by just walking in. But people who reserve a seat get sat in the worst seat in San Francisco? Strange.
It then took 20 minutes for anyone to take our order.
I ordered a beer and when it came, it had 3 ice cubes in it! The server did change it when asked.
The food was average, so was the service, the beer was a bit better. But overall a sub standard experience.
This place can and does so much better. But I won’t be recommending to a friend anymore.
I’ll be back but only in hope that this experience won’t happen again.
Yummy brunch we all loved, fit for foodies and great service 😊!
Booked a table bc .. Saturday and it is in a popular tourist area, really glad I did bc they had a booth ready for us when we arrived. Our server was friendly, food was good and came out fast considering how busy they were. The deviled eggs were super good so were the beignets! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the experience!
Good selections of food and beer, and the service is always great. Wouldn’t necessarily suggest if you trying to have a conversational dinner though, as it’s a bit noisy.
Damn good place! We live close and are determined to go more often.
Tim McShane and Rick Burnham
Never had a bad meal here. Staff and food is great.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Very accommodating of my small girl (age four)
Excellent service and food!
Best service we had while in town. Bill did a fantastic job.
We literally went for the “Full English Breakfast” listed on the menu on Opentable, but it is not actually on their menu. They did try to make it up to us with beignets, which was very nice of them.
We were underwhelmed. Root beer was great but the meal was good. Fried chicken sandwich had to be abandoned as a sandwich and eaten with fork. My dining partner order sausage. She through it tasted good but came swimming in sauce that you couldn’t physically eat. No spoon and nothing to pick it up with. Overall not my favorite meal here ever.
good pub food and great house brews on tap. not the cheapest but avearge $$ for sf. all around great local spot
No one was there by 10:30 for bunch but they filled up by 11. Food was ok, egg sandwich and steak and eggs were good, French toast, too. Skip the heuvos rancheros.
The $45 bottle of Brut was a good deal with a single glass of OJ for mimosas but when we ordered a second they didn’t have one chilled. At 11am on a Sunday. Go figure, so we left and got drinks elsewhere. Odd for a brewery to run out of booze...
Valentine’s Day. Got a reservation after work about 9:30 pm. Got lucky and had a street parking right across. We were welcomed as we go in and we pick a booth to sit. The owner and servers were very nice and friendly. The owner also recommend their best sellers for a light beer and IPA. We got the Kalifornia Kolsch and the Oyster Stout (both beers have their own unique taste and very refreshing).
For the food I got the sweet chili chicken wings (hella good!) and the steamed mussels with toasted bread (omg get this! They gave me like a big bowl of mussels! And it is very delicious!) The hubz got the Magnolia Burger with fries which is also very good! I can’t stop eating the burger and fries!
Total is about $70 for 4 pint of beers and good food, not bad! We will be back!
It was a slow evening, just after the Super Bowl. Since there no TVs over the bar, it was a quiet Sunday evening for dinner and beer. The beer is great, and the burger was decent, too. The salad that came with it was fresh and a light touch with the dressing, which is perfect.
We had a great overall experience at Magnolia Brewing. The staff was very friendly and responsive, and even helped us settle an internal dispute about the Sound of Music. We ordered from the restaurant week menus and loved everything we ate. We were bummed out that they had run out of one of the desserts by the end of the night (our reservation was at 8pm) but the coffee cake we had was delicious. Overall, great beer, great food, great value.
We had a great time. We were seated immediately upon arriving, our server was attentive, no mistakes in food or beer. Everything was very tasty and a good amount. We got the prix fixe menu for restaurant week and it was very tasty. It was pretty loud when we got there at 8 pm, but had chilled out and gotten quieter by the time we left. The ambience was nice and the haight is a fun area. I'd definitely go back.
Best burger in San Francisco! Great rotating beer selection.
Good beer selection, food menu is a mixed bag. Best thing we ate were the meatball appetizers. The trout main oddly had croutons on it, and tons of bones which made it virtually inedible. Sandwiched between a rowdy group of 6 women and a family with a baby we could hardly hear each other.
Thoroughly enjoyed an early dinner at Magnolia. The queso and grilled bread will bring us back. Nice beer selection and super upbeat service.
Service is great, excellent gastro pub cuisine. Casual and no fuss spot with great beers too!
What a great spot! Fantastic Beer...eclectic setting--wonderful staff--very attentive and pleasant.
Food was delicious.
Great food, drink, and space!
Got to try 2 different beers and they were good. Food was great and service was very attentive and pleasant
Always lovely to spend time there, its lively without being noisy, you can actually talk to your party !
Sad to see the English breakfast has left the menu, but the rest of the brunch was great.
My mom and I came here while she visiting San Francisco after I took her a walking tour around the Haight. She said after her trip that this was her favorite place that we ate. The food was delicious and the beer menu was great. What stood out the most was the service. Our waitress was wonderful and answered any question we had. She let my mom try a few different beers until she found one that she liked. All in all a great experience!
Great service and food, out of town guest who were here with kids felt welcomed
Well done in every respect.
And then there’s the amazing beer
