The service was superb…wish I could say the same about the food. My shrimp bisque and Chilean sea bass were very good, but my wife’s French onion soup was terrible…way too much salt, and this was confirmed by the chef. He rack of lamb was terrible! Four of the pieces were fat and bone with no meat. All the pieces looked like they had been carelessly tossed on the plate. Neither entree plate was well arranged. I have very fond memories of Magic Lamp Inn dating back to the mid-1960s. Even our last visit several years ago was memorable. Last night was a very bad, and the meals weren’t anywhere near what we’d come to expect from Magic Lamp Inn. It definitely wasn’t worth the price we paid. We won’t be back. One good thing. Our server Lynn was superb!

After it's recent refurbishment and relaunch, the Magic Lamp has returned to it's former excellence. We had a drink in the bar before dinner in the main dining room. The fillet mignon was perfectly done, our dietary requests were honored, the noise level was enough to feel some energy but not loud. We were able to avoid a table by the Elvis impersonator (we wanted to talk to each other) without issue. We've had dinner in the bar a few weeks ago and that was excellent too with a limited and cheaper menu and no reservation required. It's definitely more expensive than other places but at least not it's worth it.

We went to Magic Lamp yesterday to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. The staff was so amazing, welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious! We started off with the prawns for an appetizer. Then we had the New York Strip and Lamb. Both were cooked to our liking. We also had dessert. We ordered the Birds Milk. It was so good. One of my favorites of the night. I also ordered the French Martini. I liked it so much I ordered two. We also enjoyed the live music. We would definitely come back. We would recommend to anyone!

This place is retro magic. We drove all the way from Palm Springs and it was worth it. The service was friendly. Drinks were amazing. The light up menu was a delight. The crispy fresh relish plate and bread basket were retro perfection. Even the butter was formed into balls. The decor was a dream come true. A gem of old route 66. Don’t get me started on the world class Frank Sinatra impersonator. He WAS Frank, blue eyes and all with the voice to match. I can’t wait to go back. The food was amazing too.

Last night we went to the Magic Lamp for the first time. We decided to celebrate our anniversary there. It did not disappoint. We loved all of the small touches which are actually big touches. They had balloons on the table for us. The owner or manager Edward was wonderful. He came by to check on us to ensure all was going well. He shared some history with us and wished us a happy anniversary. vur server Lynn was tantasuc. one was kind, funny and attentive but not intrusive. She brought out a relish tray that has been a tradition for 50 years. It was yummy. Then she brought out a variety of bread. We ordered and everything was so amazing. I highly recommend the filet minion bruschetta. I had filet minion for my meal and my husband had the Airline chicken. We shared the lobster Mac and cheese and creamed corn, again great sides. Both meals were amazing. Then we had dessert. Both we also great. Nothing was a disappointment. Everyone was so friendly. We loved the singer. He just added to the ambiance. We thought the inside was so beautiful. We look forward to going again. This is now in my top 5 steak houses. We will make the drive from Temecula again. Our server Lynn was fantastic. Our server Amy was superb, friendly and efficient. Food was delicious. Elvis was very entertaining. Ed the manager stopped by to make sure everything was good and chatted with us. Great experience.

Overall the experience at Magic Lamp was great! The Frank Sinatra impersonator was a surprise we didn't expect. He made the evening.
