Ce restaurant est au coeur d'un ensemble architectural l'hotel William Gray qui fait le lien entre le passé et des espaces bien intégrés, lumineux qui appellent à la détente et au repos. Le service est courtois, efficace et affable. Les plats sont créatifs, savoureux et équilibrés (santé) ce qui est la marque des nouveaux chefs en émergence. L'atmosphère du restaurant est très agréable sans être bruyant. Idéal pour des rencontres d'affaires.

Three strikes really. Waiter forgot to bring our coffee, twice. Then we had to wait an extra 5 minutes for a stir spoon. Never did get the toast that was supposed to come with the omelette.

Je suis allé à ce resto à 3 occasions. La nourrirture est bonne mais c est beaucoup trop long. Le service est très ordinaire . Dommage , mes attentes pour ce resto qui devait être un hit c est avereré un flop.

L ambiance est nulle. J avais aussi specifié vouloir avoir une vue sur l extérieur pour un rdv doux. L hôte n'a pas pris en compte commentaire et le resto était peu achalandé. J ai du prendre un extra de saumon fumé pour pouvoir en avoir tout nu dans une assieste pas de citron pas capte pcq l assieste n est pas au menu. SÉRIEUSEMENT ! !!!

An amazing ambiance. Very little options for vegan, let alone vegetarian food. But nevertheless, my squash was still really good! The waiter was not very warm to us, maybe because we were English and we did not get alcohol.

Tout etait bien , appart le fait que la serveuse s’est trompé avec notre commande 2fois. J’ai commandé des huîtres et j’ai eu une autre sorte d'huître j’ai commandé un steak tomahawk et j’ai reçu un portehouse. Elle était gentille la serveuse mais elle est un peu perdu même s’il y avait juste 3tables dans le restaurant.

$47 steak had to be sent back to the kitchen three times.
My wife originally asked for it to be cooked medium well.
The first time it came, it was seared on the outside and raw in the middle.
The second time it came, it was charred on the outside and less raw, but still raw. Both times, even the waiter and Maitre D fully agreed with what my wife was served. One would have thought someone would have looked at it the second time, since it had already been cut into, the level of cooking could have been easily checked.
It finally came back a third time, cooked properly in the center, but the outside was so charred, it was like a shoe. By that time, because my wife and I enjoy eating WITH each other, and I had decided to wait until her meal arrived to begin eating mine, my salmon was cold.
The Maitre D was kind enough to offer us his apologies which we thanked him for and a shot of liqueur which we said no to.
We also each ordered a glass of wine. The waiter came and poured the wine. When the bill came, we were charged for the larger $16 servings rather than the $10 serving, which I had ordered. I was so upset with the entire experience, I just wanted to get out of there. My biggest regret was leaving as large a tip as I had. I was so upset, I didn't think about how much to leave and just did what I normally do in a restaurant.
In a better restaurant such as Maggie Oakes aspires to be, the proper thing to do would have been to comp one of the meals, or the wine, at the very least................ but neither was done.
Being in a hotel, with a largely transient clientele, I suppose they don't care about treating their customers well, because most of them probably won't be coming back anyway.

Having been here in June when visiting Montreal it’s changed.

I was a bit disappointed that when I noticed they didn’t offer Scallops as a starter but offered them as sides I thought like other restaurants they could have made a starter but it was a clear no.

Steak was like I remember perfect. Pity they could have a chef that was capable of rustling up a sauce for 3/4 Scallops.

-They 1st offered to serve our martinis in a champagne glass, when we responded that our preference would be a martini glass, the server let us know he was going to the basement to take them out of a box. Not discreet and not necessary to make us feel that we were being difficult.
-I'd rate the martini a 2 out of 5, over shaken and under-poured.
-My venison was ordered medium rare, was delivered blue (confirmed by 3 people including the waiter agreed). They offered either to re-cook the same meat or asked if I wanted a new one, the rest of my group had their meals in front of them, I didn't feel necessary to request they redo the entire plate simply re-cook the piece of meat, but I left that to the chef to decide, what do I know? So my plate was taken and when the same piece of meat returned, I had less sides/vegetables on the plate compared to when I handed it in. I suppose to make it more attractive, but 1/4 of the meal I was paying for was missing. The meat was still blue, but I chose not to return it a 2nd time.
-The restaurant wasn't full however they sat us in front of the gateway of the kitchen/bar, plus there was a large tray drop with loud glass breaking at one point. There is also a small barrier from the rest of the restaurant, and it would have been nice to soak up the ambiance from the center of the room, we were a party of 4 and dressed up and not in need of privacy or a tete-a-tete date or anything. We were there for a night out, but weren't tempted to stay and spend more time or money.
-I sensed a lack of management in the establishment surveying on this evening. The overall comportment of a few of the staff seemed slack at best or perhaps short-staffed.
-This restaurant has a high-end design, a high-end price but didn't delivery on high-end service or experience.
-The waiter did kindly remove the cost of one glass of red-wine from my bill for the mis-cooked meat, this was the only tactful part of the experience that evening.

C'était très bien ! Ma bavette de cerf était bien cuite, mais était extrêmement grillée tout autour. Peut-être est-ce normal pour une bavette de cerf. Tout le reste était excellent ! Les cocktails étaient par contre à notre avis trop chers pour la quantité. Merci de participer a Mtlàtable!

Bien comme soirée outre le fait que la serveuse nous aille oubliez à deux remises. Nous avons finalement reçu notre addition 25 minutes après avec été débarrassé du dessert.

Les plats manque d’assaisonnement, voire même de saveur. Il y a un manque d'équilibre dans les plats qui les rend fade même si la description est alléchante. Bref, ce sont de bons ingrédients, mais il y a un manque de raffinement. Le décor est beau, mais c’est le goût qui compte et il n’est pas au rendez-vous. Il y a trop de bons restaurant à Montréal pour aller une 2e fois à cet endroit.

Nous sommes allés entre amis dans le cadre de MTL à table. Ils auraient dû y penser avant de participer! La serveuse était pas dans son assiette donc le service était médiocre. La bavette de cerf était de toute évidence trop cuite pour les 5 personnes qui l’ont commandé. Même les autres tables ont retourné leurs assiettes tellement ce n’é Pas mangeable. Pour le reste, nous avons tous pas été impressionnés; ni par l’ambiance! C’est définitivement un resto touristique que tu vas dans réservation et sans attente

We got the MTL a Table and it was extremely disappointing. I didn't see the value-added in the meals. I had tuna as my main and it was super over-cooked. Would not recommend.

Atmosphere was quite nice.
The service seemed overwhelmed and rushed
The food was mediocre. The burger was over cooked and dry, had the potential to be good but totally missed the mark. The gnocchi was dense and bland but the lobster within the dish was excellent.
The menu has the potential to be excellent but the preparation of the food is lacking quality.

We asked for a steak medium rare and it came out all black, close to calcination, and the inside was medium to well cooked at best. But because we had waited so long to get the food and it was late, we just had to go along with it.

Esmettin Made everything about our meal phenomenal. Yes, the food was fantastic and quite honestly one of (if not the best) meals I’ve ever had but Esmettin made the experience complete. Never have I felt so comfortable talking to a server and enjoyed their input. He was knowledgeable, positive, charismatic, and attentive. Fantastic and unexpectedly delicious meal. We will absolutely drive back from Boston for another visit soon!

Fun place to go eat. Lots of action at this place. The food was good we had steaks and burgers. The fries are very good. Best if you are a big group, if you go you will understand because this restaurant appeals to a 20 to 30 year old crowd. Servers however need to better trained. Ordered a few drinks and they never showed. Atleast we weren't charged for them.

We were highly disappointed with the meal. Claims to be a steak house but both our steaks weren't great at all. My filet mignon was overcooked and not tender. Even my apple martini was potent. Service was "ok" but we were often left alone for long periods of time and had to call the waiter over.
For the amount of money that was spent, it definitely wasn't worth it.

I stopped in for afternoon lunch while walking around rue Sainte-Paul and Notre Dame. It was too cold to eat outdoors but I had a pleasant booth inside. Good selection of wines by the glass which I chose a Saint Emilion to go with my Maggie Oakes burger. It"s great meat mixed with part dry age beef. It's a big burger so get the side salad unless you're very hungry. Entrance is right on the Bousecours Market.

Plutôt déçus de notre expérience.
Joli restaurant, bon service. Par contre, la nourriture a été très décevante pour le prix total de la facture. Nous sommes fervents de bons restaurants, nous n’avons aucun problème à payer pour une bonne table, nous avons donc été très déçus de la qualité de nos plats. Le gravlax de saumon était ok, le tataki de thon ressemblait à une tranche épaisse de thon salé fumé, le canard n’était pas tendre, il y avait à peine de purée de panais dans l’assiette, le tartare de bison était très gras (trop d’huile ajoutée au tartare) et avait très peu de saveur. Finalement, les desserts étaient ok, sans plus.
En revanche, les cocktails étaient bons.
Nous nous attendions à autre chose disons.
Nous déconseillons ce restaurant dû au mauvais rapport qualité/prix.

We enjoyed our meal -primarily due to the delightful waitress.
The food was mostly good; however inconsistent.
The salads and vegetables were marvelous
But the meat (highly touted aged meat) was not very tender, undercooked (had to be sent back to be “rared”) and the dishes were far too heavy on salt.
In contrast the fish was outstanding! Perfectly prepared and cooked-firm, delicate flavors-yum.
Excellent wine list
But like most of Montreal-far too expensive for the end result.
Disappointing.
