This was the perfect place for a business meeting breakfast. I have been to a few other restaurant locations around the area for breakfast and some tend to get too loud. It was nice as this was a quiet spot to actually have a conversation.
Food was good, service was alright. Had to ask for extra plates twice before they were brought over. The individual we first asked for plates was the person who should've checked us in but apparently didn't do that either.
Horrible service upstairs and down
Food and service were very good. The only suggestion I have is that the server should not put the check down without asking if we were interested in having coffee/tea, etc.
The food is good and service accommodating, but the noise level is unbearable.
Great find just off the busy area around the NYPL and close to Grand Central Station. Modest menu but hits all the major categories.
I’d go back.
So loud that you literally cannot have a conversation
Can’t go back
Restaurant staff is very responsive and polite. When my guest and I wanted to try sourdough toast, it was served on 2 plates with each toast cut up! Great service!
The cheese plate was excellent! I didn't have the hamburger, but my friend did and it looked fantastic. I will definitely try it next time.
I do not recommend
The food was phenomenal. And the service was great !
I chose the restaurant because of the location, but we were also very happy with the meal and the service. In particular, I'd like to commend the hostess for her responsiveness. When we arrived, the only table available was located next to a woman with a 'comfort dog' who was running around under the table as its owner fed it snacks. Had it been a service dog, we wouldn't have objected, but this seemed to be a pretty blatant attempt at bending the rules. We were not the only ones who complained. Instead of making things difficult, the hostess kindly re-seated us in another area of the restaurant as soon as a table opened up. Unfortunately, the other table remained empty until the dog's owner left the restaurant. The table service was also very good. Overall, it was a really nice lunch.
Seated outside small table little noisy but food was excellent and staff was great!
All was really well done, service was great.
Noisy space with expansive midiocre food.
Not great food, service was mediocre and they made mistakes in our orders
TOO NOISY. TOO NOISY. TOO NOISY. WISH THERE WAS A SOLUTION TO THE HIGH NOISE LEVEL. SERVICE WAS GOOD AS WAS THE FOOD.
Service was great but selection is limited and taste average
We had lunch there and everything was fine except for the noise level.
It was really hard to have a good conversation since one had to listen either very carefully or speak really loud.
Was there a few days before for drinks after work: much nicer!
Unfortunately, the door was kept open and was too loud in the restaurant for my business meal. Have always had great meals & service here - just too loud Friday.
This was all of our first time there. It is a bar and restaurant, it seems to attract after work people, and was noisy but dies down. The drinks and food menu were not over the top, not too many suggestions. We all enjoyed what we had. Perhaps we were just hungry, but we intend to go back.
TOO NOISY. FOOD IS MEDIOCRE AND SERVICE WAS AUTOMATIC.
Cozy haunt near Grand Central. Good food and atmosphere. Will be back!
Fast and very efficient service. Tasty pasta dish, perfect after a long flight. Moderately noisy. Good menu and very convenient location.
Late lunch .... Great Vine Burgers and Chicken Paillard. Super service and a refreshing Pinot Grigio. Daughter especially enjoyed the fresh orange juice and lemonade combo. Would happily visit again when in NYC.
Chose Madison & Vine due its proximity to Grand Central Station. Have had the food previously when stayed at Library Hotel but this was first time dining in the restaurant. Could not hear myself think. Tables are too close together and the noise level was off the charts. Food and service were good but could not enjoy due to cramped table and noise.
Always enjoy the lunch menu. Good select of wine by the glass. Looking forward to trying breakfast.
I thought the food was excellent! I tried something unusual and it was just great.
A convenient location, nice food and service for mid-town dining for lunch or dinner.
We got together for a colleague's birthday in my office. The place was very noisy, so if you want to talk it's not a perfect place to go. The food took a very very long time to come out, considering it is a small restaurant and not that many tables. We kept having to ask when our meal was coming. They did come around and refill iced tea glasses often. When food came, it was good.
This was our first visit to Madison & Vine, which we picked because it is close to Grand Central Station. Both my friend and I enjoyed our lunch meals, and the service was great: attentive but not hovering. I would go again.
We love Madison and Vine. The food and wine are amazing!!
Staff was friendly but the place is small and very crowded and the noise level can get painful.
The food was okay although portions were small. Crab cakes were Devine and the wine list was good.
I've been to Mdison & Vine on several occasions, mostly for dinner and drinks.
The atmosphere is appropriate for business and upscale drinks after work.
This is the first time I've been here for an afternoon business occasion; three out of the five guests ordered a light lunch as it was a late afternoon and rushed for time. My order came out wrong, and disturbed our flow of conversation. The server was not quick in getting our check; I would think kktwice about going there during the day, but have always enjoyed evenings.
I really enjoyed the food here and the atmosphere was very nice. The only complaint I have, is that my friend and I weren't "drinking" so we both ordered seltzer water with lime. I asked if I could have an extra large glass... and at the end they charged me for 2 soft drinks for my large glass. My friend's was $4 for a small sparkling water and mine was $8 for a large sparkling water... really? When it comes down to it, it's water. I thought that was excessive. I'm a big fan of refillable soft drinks and I understand that they would want to charge me more for a larger glass... but double?
Love this place a must stop every time I visit :)
There are better, more affordable places in the area. The restaurant was empty when I was there. Service was prompt. However, water glasses and coffee were not filled unless I flagged the server down.
My dish tasted a little sour, as though ingredients were a little past their prime.
Nice people. Wife and I had simple dinner splitting kale salad, macaroni, and a burger washed down with drinks from the bar. Just right
Food was ok, overpriced for what it was. Vibe wasn't as exciting as expected.
Food was delicious!
