The food was sooooo delicious! Especially that eggplant appetizer. The ambiance is nice, and staff friendly. I will return.
The space is small & comfortable.
Pricing on the wine per glass is steep. Portion sizes are generous.
Attention by the servers is very good and unobtrusive
Table was ready upon arrival. It was a warm evening and they kept all of the doors open so there was no AC. The tables are placed very close together so it is difficult to have a conversation. The service was excellent and they took our order quickly and the wait was not long. We both ordered the chicken with an arugula salad and it was well presented. We shared shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were a big size and they serve 5 in the appetizer portion. We each had a glass of wine and we spent 2 hours together. If you are using grand central station, it is a perfect meeting spot.
Great food, service, and ambience. Perfect place for a business lunch or a date. Their sweet potato fries are amazing!
This such a hidden gem. Our server tonight was amazing. This is a great choice for lunch or dinner.
Great restaurant I love eating there yummy food and ambience
I want to preface this by saying that while I did not give this restaurant five stars and would likely not choose to go back here again, I would tell others to give it a try. Some of the food was truly outstanding and service is excellent when there aren't many people in the restaurant but it seems that they aren't equipped to handle more than 10 active tables at a time so as soon as that happens, the food isn't piping hot, you might not get salt/pepper until you're essentially done and nobody comes over to see if you need anything while you're eating (I'm still wondering what that sherry vinaigrette tastes like). That being said, if you're interested in reading on about specifics, here they are.
The specialty drinks - Tasty but very weak. For $16, my friend and I want more than one shot in a rocks glass that has tons of ice in it. We had two drinks before moving to our table.
The appetizer - Outstanding - Veal meatballs. I actually preferred the grilled sourdough the next day. I'm not sure why but when it first came out it had a weird taste.
The Entree - Chicken Paillard. Super thin chicken breast that was very dry. I don't know if this is due to it sitting before it was brought to the table or if it was due to little to no cheese or the absence of the dressing but I am sure this is an anomaly. It was seared as it should be but perhaps it just sat too long and dried out (that gets back to the service I referenced above).
My friend had the cavatappi (I had a taste) and it was great. The side of spinach was terrific as well.
Since I had decided to take the appetizer with me after having a few bites of it in order to have room for my main course (which I disliked), I did opt to order dessert and it was super yummy.
In closing, I'm not sure I'd go back here again, but I would not discourage others from giving it a try. There is no doubting the quality of the food, but without stepping up the investment in employees and service that is what separates this place.
Crammed in a bit and horrid toilets. A little expensive and would not go back.
Limited appeal of menu items and sooo noisy.
Our waiter was fantastic! Very personable and helpful! I don’t remember his name, but he deserves a pat on the back!
I eat out a lot. At many different calibers of Resteraunt. Madison and Vine is definitely one to have on your list!
Great food and atmosphere, the service was fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful.
Food was nothing special. Servers were very nice. Too expensive for the quality of the food
Been here numerous times mainly at the weekend and it has been fantastic but my first time there for lunch midweek and I was very disappointed. Server was rushing us even though it was a 1pm booking so not sure what he wanted us off the table for. He was not interested n merely going through the motions. The food was average which hasn’t been the case before. Not rushing back.
Always a treat
lovely place with open air feel, when the weather is nice. We split a burger and a cobb salad with bacon, and a warm spinach dip with chips. All in all very nice but pricey, but then again so is all of manhattan. No one rushed us, very friendly ambiance. go if you haven't already.
great food and service, attentive servers and nice food presentation
Outstanding brunch on a gorgeous day!
Awesome and convenient spot! Don’t miss for any type of meeting
Super loud with after-work drinkers! Great service though and good food.
We came at 5 pm for a drink and early dinner. Very good service, excellent roast chicken dish too!
Great service, great food
Small, but inviting atmosphere. Noise level is high so plan to join the party! Bar and table seating, but tight quarters! Drinks and food were both exceptional as well as the service.
The food is always good- The Vine Burger is one of the best in the city.
The Bistro Steak Sandwich and the Vine Burger (with Applewood Smoked Bacon) were both outstanding! I highly recommend both and will be returning to M&V soon.
The roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes & shallot hash with applewood smoked bacon in mustard jus was tres magnifique. There was a lovely Boudreaux rose to accompany it.
My companion and I both thought the food was very good and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We appreciated not being rushed. We agreed we would definitely go back when the opportunity presents itself. One "criticism" might be its limited menu.
Pretty generic. Nothing bad, but nothing special either. Wines by glass list is above average in variety
Food was very good, both the tuna and the salmon entrees as well as the crab cake appetizer. Well prepared as ordered with good sides and very nicely presented. The service was also very good, attentive but not intrusive. The place is a bit on the loud side but, as it's also a bar, that's to be expected.
Great Service, a great place for a business lunch.
My daughter and I enjoyed a pre-show dinner. We had plenty of time to relax and order exactly what we wanted versus a set pre-show menu choice selection. I will definitely return for another delicious meal next time I’m in NYC!
I like this place because its very convenient to my office. The chicken pallaird is delicious. The problem is that it is very noisy in the evenings. Does not control noise too well
It is incredibly loud.
a little pricy for what you get. maybe only because of its location. but really the food wasnt so great... just ok. burger they say award winning, but how? was it a bad day for kitchen to not mee6 the restaurant standard? i added bacon to my burger but they forgot too. not recommending it.
Roosevelt is an outstanding waiter!! His knowledge of wine and fantastic customer service keep us coming back.
Always a great experience at Madison and Vine .... but particularly this time.
Our Waiter, Roosevelt, was AMAZING!!
Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and perfect timing through the entire meal. A true professional!!
The Smokey Cider Margarita is spectacular. Get it!!!
Fun cute spot with good selection and nice wine selection
Dinner with my 3 years-old, perfect wine, perfect apple-cider, perfect warm dip fries and steaks.
Great spot for a breakfast or lunch meeting. The staff was very flexible for us. Nice Job!
