Great food and service at an awesome place! Well worth it!
Great food!
Outstanding brunch!
We always enjoy the food at Mader’s
Excellent service. Food was delicious! I traveled 4 hrs to eat here. I was not disappointed.
German food was so-so, quite bland and of course overload of meat. Service was spotty and they played disco music inside!
Had a nice lunch today!
We enjoyed our lunch and the experience at the restaurant . The food was delicious. Service was great and we enjoyed our lovely day. A favorite family place to travel to from Green Bay.
Great place with good traditional German food. A nice change of pace.
They did not recognize our anniversary that was listed on our reservation..
It wasn’t open when it was supposed to be.
Mader's is excellent every time. The food is generally a little expensive, but the phrase "you get what you pay for" really, really applies.
We literally drive 150 miles to eat German food, which we're not even especially fans of generally, so that should tell you something. The service is great, the food is great, the atmosphere is great.
Oh, and the staff all wear masks, the tables are distanced, etc.
Great food. Good service.
Mader's is a genuine treasure for Milwaukee. Authentic and charming and delicious. We had the goulash and a few sides. The Black Forrest Cake was amazing. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is enticing.
I love taking people to a true Milwaukee restaurant when they visit and Mader’s delivers every time.
Food and service was fantastic! It was it crowded (during COVID times), and some of the waitstaff did not wear their masks over their nose.
I will happily return once COVID is over, but for the time being, I will be staying away from Mader's. For the food price point I would like to see more COVID safety measures!
We had a delicious meal at Maders. Recommend their combination plates so you can try several different items. I had the Weiner Schnitzel and goulash combo with spaezlte. My husband had the Weiner Schnitzel, goulash and Sauerbraten with spaetzle. Our server Amberley was excellent!
It was pricier than we expected. But the food was very good.
You can’t go wrong at Mader’s
Maders was closed on Tuesday, so hopefully Opentable and Maders can communicate on the days they are open.
Not the same level of quality as in years past.
The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was friendly and attentive! It was an exceeding enjoyable experience!
New Year’s Eve dinner
Maders is an annual tradition for our family. We always enjoy our meal and experience, but the food was even more exceptional this last time. They also renovated and it looks beautiful!
We really enjoyed the quality and selection if the the food. Perfectly prepared. The drink menu was especially tempting and well crafted. The Apple strudel was literally the best I’d ever eaten.
Good Food as always.......Service was amazing......
The only negative - there was a wedding party in the room adjacent to ours (no door on the room) and they were wandering in and out of our dining room and not wearing masks and not being quiet. I don't think the group was to be blamed, but the manager should not have allowed this situation to occur.
A very enjoyable dining experience.
Honestly it was a disappointment. We selected the restaurant to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. Our server and host were great, as were the surroundings but the food was tasteless and Luke warm. Prices are high and we expected better. Loved the giant pretzel but that was the only highlight of the food. Maybe just an off night but really thought food needed work
Our family has been coming here for generations and the food & ambiance have always been outstanding!
We had not been to Mader's in a number of years. It was everything we remembered and were very happy to be there again. It is a treasure of a place and we hope that it can continue on for many more years.
Very attentive service
I’m not a German food kind of person but I will certainly be back!
Maders is classic Milwaukee! Updated menu has more options than in the past and when you go here you can enjoy a classic German dining hall feel, but also there is a nice bar (with booths and bar counter) and outside patio, both with TV's so if you want to watch Sports it's great. Excellent and attentive service and the food is the best German food we have ever had (and we have been to Germany). We highly recommend Maders!!
Best German Restaurant in the Midwest. Had the German Sampler and everything was great. So full we couldn't eat dessert at Mader's, so they packed up the strudel for us to heat at home. Service is friendly and just the right amount of interaction.
Maders is truly a Milwaukee treasure. My family has been going there for generations, and it was nice to enjoy the authentic German cuisine and Old World ambiance with my daughter while we were in town. Staff was friendly, food was great, just like I remember. Definitely a must if you're in the area!
Great ambiance! The food and drinks were very good! Amberly was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, and knew exactly what to recommend for us.
We got there a bit early for our reservation, and they seated us right away.
We will be back next year!! Highly recommend the Rouladen and the German Sampler. The Rheinischer Sauerbraten was phenomenal!!
First off I want to say the food was great, we had the Reuben rolls which were delicious as was the rest of the meal. However we just didn’t feel comfortable in this place due to the lack of social distancing and laissez faire attitude of some staff relating to wearing masks. The maitre’d (who was wearing a full respirator mask) wanted to initially sit us in a booth in a very busy bar area with every booth occupied and customers sitting literally back to back. When we asked to be more socially distanced he managed after a few minutes to find another table in the smaller dining area which was properly distanced although in a main thoroughfare to the restrooms. However what concerned us was that a number of key staff such as the barman ( a tall dark haired guy who made our drinks )and a blonde male member of the waiting team either weren’t wearing a mask or had at times their mouth and nose uncovered. The blonde guy coughing as he walked by our table. Several other diners were seen wandering around the restaurant again all without masks and without staff asking them to wear one. Coupling this with slow service and for reasons of safety we wouldn’t recommend this place. Which is a shame as the food was great!
Great service. Always fun!
Always a must when visiting MKE-the giant pretzel!!
Great authentic German cuisine and beer . The strudel is the perfect dessert after the meal
The best German food outside of Germany. I had the Rouladen and my companion had the Pork shank. Wunderbar!!!
