The staff at Madera did a good job as usual. Why is it necessary to give them your credit card information when making a reservation? This is a royal pain.

Excellent food and service but tables feel a bit too close together. An unmasked kid kept wandering near our table giving us anxiety.

The food, service, and ambience are great. The outside heat tubes were not sufficient for the 50 degree weather, it was really cold. Perhaps throw blankets and tea selection for each chair would be nice, but understandably not feasible with COVID.

I have been to this restaurant a few times but first time since Covid. I know business is tpugh now for restaurants but a $75 corkage fee for a special bottle to celebrate a birthday? and when i asked for 2 more small triangle of pita for the dip that inly came with 4 small pieces to start- i was charged $5 and not told there would be a fee? seriously ridiculous to be charged such exorbitant prices- I wont be going back.

Felt immense pressure to order immediately, food so-so, server didn’t acknowledge birthday even though I (previously) requested a cupcake ( or something) with a candle, 75.00 corkage excessive especially when all wine was not poured (didn’t realize until time to leave), Very, very limited menu, in dining resulted in restaurant cold and draft with servers going in and out to serve outdoor patrons. We were ask to leave promptly at 10:00 our reservation was 7:45
Getting out and dressing up was fun in light of COVID tho and we had a good time anyway!

Madera provided a safe and relaxing location outside on the terrace to enjoy a wonderful early afternoon meal during these times where social distancing is a must. We had great service and throughly enjoyed the food. My wife had an excellent and very flavorful cucumber and melon soup followed by a tasty ahi tuna dish. I “settled” for the iron steak dish that was perfectly grilled and accompanied with a tasty mix of roasted small potatoes, arugula and chopped almonds.

Beautiful venue for dining. We had a table out of doors and the view of the grounds and the distant landscape is breathtaking. The wait staff were excellent. The foods delicious. We were about to spend about 90 minutes enjoying our lunch of beverages, appetizer, main course, and desert.

Madera used to be a favorite. For all kinds of occasions. I’m the first to admit COVID has darn near killed everything and that said it’s not fair to blame COVID for lousy value, limited selection and way over the top prices. It used to be expensive now it’s very expensive. A bottle of water, $12. Seriously? A hamburger ( the only sandwich on the menu for $35. Huh? Only 1 salad on the menu. Basic Gem lettuce for $20. Ok I can handle that. “Oh, you don’t want any protein? The lid favorite “Cobb Salad” oil long gone. Bread - 2 small pieces each $7. Menu says “ loaf”—we both had a hard time ordering because nothing was appealing. I’m trying to look at the glass half full. It’s hard because I’m comparing to the old menu, quality, service.
We ate outside, a bit hot but wonderful and safer experience. Bottom line, until management wakes up I’d try another site. No bar open. Wine served. By the glass average $22. Drinkable but not memorable.
This place is a real experience, service was excellent, but the food was below average. My wife and I ordered a classic tuna poke bowl, and it was tasteless.

I have really tried to like this restaurant for years- ever since they opened. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the food and drinks always seem to be lacking. They make the worst bloody marys and mojitos I've ever had and the food is at best "okay" Plus, the hostess and waiters seem to have attitude problems. Really? during a pandemic and so few people actually dining out these days, you need to drop the 'tude! I will likely wait another couple of years before I try them again.

Not a place to be when it's hot, if you're seating outside, no fans, no misters, and only minimal relief from the heat by the awning. So if you want to be outside doing covid, pick a day when the air quality is high and the heat is low.
