Went there for our anniversary dinner. It was Prix Fixe menu with choices. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was great!
Breakfast was basic and uninspired. Served cold food omelet and potatoes. Breakfast potatoes were cold and had no seasoning.
Enjoyed a great Sunday Brunch. Our server was a delight and the food was delicious. Madera never disappoints and we were so glad to return to one of our favorite places and see it unscathed and unchanged post-Covid!
Celebrated my one year anniversary here a year after also meeting my girlfriend here for our first date.
The server got our order wrong and the food was not as we had expected from before.
Madera offers a beautiful dining room and patio, stellar service and delicious food. This is our second stay at this pretty property and all the staff greeted us by name. Darling Audrey at the front hostess stand and awesome server Nancy remembered us immediately. Peter, Kevin and Eric are all great too. Breakfast and lunch daily were delicious- you can’t go wrong. I would recommend sitting on the pretty patio. We only had dinner once during our stay - the steak and the sea bass were excellent.
Such a lovely spot!
All guests really enjoyed “everything”!
Horrible service. The waiter was rude and incredibly slow.
It was a great place to have business meeting.
The ambiance and the outdoor view to the mountains was spectacular. The service was fantastic very great service. The busy boys was so excellent service at the table. Our waiter was excellent in providing us the food and menu information. Very great staff. And the place is beautiful. My daughter and totally enjoyed our dinner.
It was lovely sitting outside and food was excellent.
The food was amazing - especially the caviar bite and the Brie cheesecake (Heaven!!). Service was on-point. I can’t wait to go back. Perfection!
While the ambiance was perfectly nice, and the service was courteous, the food (breakfast) was underwhelming and not what I expect from a place of this nature. I’d booked this to kick off the birthday of my wife and frankly it wasn’t worth the trip and set things off at a mediocre note. Would recommend they spend some more energies on this meal.
Great experience per usual! The hostess welcomed us with a nice greeting. Our waiter Michael was knowledgeable about the menu and checked in with perfect frequency. Been here several times and the service, food, drinks and total experience is terrific.
Great view, good wine selection, very good food and friendly staff. Prices are somewhat high but great for a special occasion.
I met up with co-workers. Our server was great and helpful. It is a very nice place to have drinks with a great view outside.
Belated birthday luncheon for 3 people in our group of four. My husband and I both had a salad with salmon. The salmon was excellent, however, the greens were nothing special with little dressing, basically Romain of some sort. It was difficult to cut the greens because the salad was served in a deep bowl with straight sides.... the price was outrageous. All four of us ordered coffee and they served each of us with an individual pot (approx. pint size) of coffee and priced accordingly. We were also surprised to see a 4% living wage added on the bill. We have patronized this restaurant several times in the past, however, my husband and I decided this would be our last visit to this restaurant.
The service at Madera was excellent so it felt special from the time we entered until we left. The waiter was very attentive and food very good.
Good customer service. Nice table outside and thanks for meeting our needs to have a larger table for 2 guests to ensure separation.
Setting and food both excellent. Service is perfect
The food, ambience and view was perfect for a small celebration. The service was top notch. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area.
We tried the cauliflower, the Petaluma Half Chicken and the King Salmon. Everything was great but the Cauliflower dish was unique and had a really good balance of crunch, freshness and flavour. Would definitely come back, especially for drinks at sunset.
Delightful afternoon with delicious food, good service and very pleasant atmosphere.
Wonderful experience. Not only was the food great but everyone was so friendly.
I am delighted to say that we had a wonderful Mother's Day dining experience at Madera. It was back to its original amazing quality and experience. Each dish we ordered was exceptional and the service was phenomenal. It was truly a wonderful evening.
Excellent food, service, ambiance, and views. Our waiter, Peter, was excellent. Thank you for making Mother's Day a delight. We will return again soon.
Service was attentive and professional. Dinner menu is very limited and the food is quite salty, greasy, and pricey. It’s a good place to go for special occasions due to its ambiance, but I would forewarn my guests that there are not many food choices. I am surprised that the restaurant had a Michelin one star with that average (at most) food quality.
The food quality was well below expectation. Canned jalapeño on the sandwiches, soggy and overly sweet wings, brown slimy lettuce in the salad. Very disappointing.
Top-notch food, service and atmosphere. Peaceful with a beautiful view from outside table.
Wonderful server, she was excellent!
Our group very much enjoyed their breakfast on Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021. Our waiter, Michael, was outstanding! It was a business meeting, so the noise level was perfect. Please tell Michael this is from the lady that ordered "tea," but he thought I said "cheese!" We were all laughing when we realized the mix-up!
Michelin Star price, food quality is not. Service is very slow
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. The views of the hillside was beautiful. All together an unforgettable experience.
Sanitary with attention to covid protocols. To provide a superb experience in the middle of a pandemic deserves praise.
Poor value. Quality of food vent down. I hope this helps.
Beautiful and relaxing, great food! Highly recommend outdoor seating
Hello Jewel, Thank you for leaving this stellar review. We are so glad to hear you had a fantastic time. Thank you for your support and loyalty! Best, Michael
This is our first time back to Madera since COVID started and we went to celebrate a birthday. There were fewer tables and more spread out than before and they were very good at keeping everything cleaned and sanitized, so that made us feel more comfortable on our first experience back to the restaurant.
The food: the menu is a lot more casual (i.e. salad bowls and burgers) than they used to have prior to COVID. Waiters were very nice and pleasant, but service was slow. We were told that the menu is smaller because they are just trying to restart the restaurant now that they re-opened and that staff is all new. Food was good but I guess we got spoiled with the food and service that it used to have before. BTW, there was no sommelier either.
We hope things improve at the restaurant as things get better.
We had a wonderful time mostly due to the great service and gorgeous setting. The food was very good although the menu was greatly and understandably changed from what we remembered from past excellent dinners. It was our first real night out in more than a year, much needed and much enjoyed.
Hello Openmouth, Thank you for sharing this review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the service and the unique setting. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the food too. There are some exciting changes coming up in our spring menu change! We hope to see you again soon. Warmest, Michael
Location was great, pool view was awesome. Food was just OK --especially for a michellin star restaurant. Considering the price, value for money was not great...
Dear Bianca, Thank you for sharing a review about your recent visit. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant, however naturally disappointed that you weren't thrilled with the food quality, which must have impacted your value perception. We will work diligently to get it better next time! Warm regards, Michael
Wonderful as always
