Best experience ever
Decor is amazing. Great place for food and drinks.
I only give a 1 Star overall because we came in with a party of 12. 3 of the 12 entrees didn't come out until the other 9 were finished dinner. We causally mentioned how we were uphappy with it and expected either a break on the $1,000 bill or a free desert.
Fantastic dinning experience and attentive staff.
The food was excellent but for the price the service was atrocious. The booking was made on open table and the restaurant called twice to confirm. However on arrival we were told by the restaurant they had no record of us. Then the server was not attentive. They forgot an entire meal when bringing out orders. It was hard to get a server to let them know that it was missing as he did not notice. It took quite a long time for that dish to come out , while everyone else waited to eat. There was really no apology for this.
The food was phenomenal omg I had the lobster claw and added salmon it was delicious for starters we had the buffalo chicken dip
To diee for😋the food was perfect will definitely visit again
We enjoyed good and entertainment. My nephews enjoyed the VR room. Thank mad rex
Overall this place was amazing can’t wait to go back. Everyone was beyond helpful and knowledgeable.
We made reservation for this restaurant because the steam punk decor and the virtual reality option. The menu looked interesting.
We were greeted upon entrance and seated right away. We order some drinks to start. My drink was good but my bf's wasn't. Normally we wouldn't complain but for the price per drink, he should enjoy it so we ask if they can fix it. The waiter was cool with it. Then, I ordered the lobster fettuccini and bf ordered lamp lollipop dish. The lamb was so salty.. I mean like eating a whole spoon of salt with just a hint of meat.
We found out the AC unit was broken which is why we were sweating in our seats. There was no filtration system and someone ordered the cooking meat block across from us. There was just smoke everywhere. At this point, we were kind of over it. The waiter did his best but we just wanted to leave. He gave us a coupon for the VR which we used for a 3min experience. Honestly, we had better VR experience at D&B. $110 later.. and not quite happy but it wasn't entirely horrible. My drink was good.
Excellent food and an amazing atmosphere!
It's gimmicky and has a weird menu. Like a dirtier grill version of the melting pot. If you like to pay to cook your own food, go for it. If you don't like to overpay for cooking your own food, skip it. Waaaaay too expensive. It also felt dirty given all the food smoke in the air.
Waiter was great, food took a VERY long time to come out.
I had made a reservation to celebrate my wife’s first year of sobriety which I explained in an email to management hoping they could provide some mock-tails for the occasion.
Ten minutes before the reservation I received a text from the restaurant saying everything was all set for us and the bartenders were ready with some great mock-tail recipes. Very excited we were seated and and when the waiter (who had terrible body order) came to our table he asked if we wanted any drinks and proceeded to bring us a traditional drink menu- with all their alcoholic options... I asked him if he had any mock-tails we could order to which he seemed to not understand what I was talking about and offers a Shirley temple. Not exactly what we had in mind. My wife had the same drink she gets on every special occasion at places that don’t have a drink menu that doesn’t have alcohol. Disappointing. We were asked two more times during the night if we wanted drinks which made my wife very uncomfortable.
In addition to the negligence of our request to make our occasion special our meals didn’t come out together (10-15 min between) and our check was wrong- twice. Not happy with our experience at all.
I was so excited about going to this restaurant it looked so cool on the website. We got there and it appeared that the air conditioning wasn't working. No problem it was a beautiful night so we decided to sit outside. The place is cool and just exactly what you would expect it to be a post Apocalypse themed restaurant. After we got our seats we sat there for a while and noticed
a few servers walking around. The place was empty. We sat there for at least 5 to 7 minutes without anyone coming over to the table. The hostess took it upon herself to bring us some water. After about 10 - 12 minutes or so our server greeted us. He was a server that we saw walking around servicing one other table and walked by us before multiple time. If he was in the weeds all he could have done previously was to greer us, take a drink order but he ignored us.
We placed our drink order and wait it and finally our drinks came. We then placed our dinner order and we ordered 2 entrees with the salt block. The waiter said he would come by and explain to us how to cook on the salt block and how it worked. The waiter disappeared again and he finally came over for our 2nd drink order. I switch my drink and ordered a beer and we waited. When they drinks of kindly came over the beer was warm. The food then showed up and a waiter was still nowhere to be found. He never took the time to explain to us how the salt park was never took the time to check one us to make sure everything was alright. This was absolutely the worst service we have ever had. On top of that the food wasn't that tasty. I had the Burger my wife had the salmon which was very plain with rice and 4 whole chickpeas. The best thing we had was a side of roasted brussel sprouts.
Stay away from this restaurant like it is still radioactive, suffering from post Apocalypse fall out.
Everything was good except the live music was too loud. Otherwise, great place great food definitely recommend.
This is a great place for terrific food and having a great time.
This was our first time here and it was different. It was hot-no air conditioning also no fans!! When I asked about the air conditioner the staff member said the air conditioner was stolen off the roof, so why weren't there fans????? We tried the virtual room, not really the best quality VR equipment. Over rated experience.
We dined in with the kids on a week night. Kellen was our server. He was phenomenal!!! attentive, thoughtful and very personable. Welcome the survivor menu, filet mignon was awesome. The flame thrower cocktail was on fire! It was delicious. Recommend
Poor management led to an overall disappointing experience. Was over 45 minutes before our salads came out and came out with our meals. Meal was poorly cooked. Management tried to argue with us and then brought something we didn’t order in an attempt to make it right. Garden salad was excellent. Lobster Mac and cheese was incredibly salty. Ultimately will never go back. Too bad. We were really excited to try it.
Love the atmosphere! Good food. The survivor menus was pretty cool.
Loved it! Great atmosphere. We came here for lunch because it was close to the Filmore and the Casino. The décor was great a lot to look at and different than the norm. The food was good (Shrimp Po Boy & Pizza) and they had something for every price level. The Flamethrower drink was definitely a WOW moment and something I had to get. Overall I would definitely come back and recommend Mad Rex to friends.
While the food was really good, the service was absolutely awful.
Dirty, sticky, broken tables. So gross. Sloooooow service. Survivalist menu is a cool idea but terribly executed. Cooking your own food on a 600-degree rock? Kinda dangerous and I got spattered by searing hot butter. Not to mention sweating the whole time because, well, 600-degree rock 12 inches from your lap.
I had the best scallops I have ever tasted!!!!!!! And the service was phenomenal! We will definitely be returning.
Not worth the money
It was awesome, the lava stone was an awesome feature to cook our steaks on.
The restaurant has potential, but it is not being well executed. We had a reservation and upon arrival, had to wait over 15 minutes for our table to be ready. There were multiple open tables, not many diners in the restaurant. When we gave eyes to the host to indicate our displeasure, they said that it would be another few minutes while they "put the menus on the table". This is not something we should be waiting for. The temperature inside was hot and humid. The drinks were not great (out of a few key cocktail ingredients), and the food was mediocre. Multiple typos on the menu, and strange layout (starters on the right side). I don't think I'd go back or recommend to anyone.
Very awesome place, cool atmosphere, fun time, and very awesome drink choices
Great place for a business meeting
Was a fun and great dining experience we will definitely be back.
The staff was great and took great care of all my family's needs. i've been there a few times prior and thought i would love to bring my family to enjoy this place. was an over all great experience and with open table they were ready for my group with no issues.
Pretty good, was a little expensive for a suburbanite as myself. Worth the experience
The food was really good. I would suggest calling before you go to see what kind of event is there for the day you attend. You may or may not want to go depending on what they have going on.
The food was great, the restaurant itself was beautiful, however our server was not very attentive to us.
Hi, Thank you for coming in and giving us feedback about your visit. We have a standard of excellence here and I apologize if that was not met on your visit. Our servers do sometimes get busy and I am glad your food was able to make up for any service issues you may have had. Feedback helps us improve and I hope you see the improvements we are making on your next visit. Best, Paul
Our server was amazing and the food was great! We had five adults and two kids and everything came out quickly and perfectly. Everything was described to us in great detail. The food may be a little pricey but it’s totally worth it.
The service was very good with the exception of the manager who stunk like a cigarette butt. It was very offensive. Food was so-so.
Hi, I am very sorry about that cigarette smell. We do not allow managers to smoke during their shifts and we than you for bringing the issue to our attention. We do hope to have you dine with us again. Thank you, Paul
It’s a nice place to hang out but NOT kid friendly and the food was not all that good
Hi, I do thank you for coming in. We only use the highest quality, GMO free, and antibiotic free local products. I do apologize that our standard of excellence was not met on your visit. We love having family's and kids in our establishment and do hope to see you and your family come again. Thank you for the feedback. Paul
Awesome food and dining, the VR process needs a little attention.
Mad Rex is quite possibly the best food I’ve ever had.
We loved having you!
