Outdoor seating was great! Service was pretty slow with ling periods between check-ins for drink refills. Don't order cocktails here. They aren't that great.
Group of five hold annual get together. Food (burgers, pizza, salad, schnitzel) was good; minor complaints that the burger buns were awfully thick and the blondie in our dessert was kind of hard. Sampled a variety of beers and all were very good / excellent. Service was good and our server was lots of fun. Convenient free parking. Overall a very good experience.
Mad Fox obviously has some of the regions best beers. Bill constantly changes the beer list and I can always find something new and delicious. The food is just as innovative and delicious. Especially the different pizza, the Fig Pizza is one of our favorites.
Another great experience. Our server was Makenzie. She was friendly and well versed in the menu. Love the beer.
Good food. Great beer.
service is slow. food is okay. great brewed beers
I've been before and thought a pleasant place with a nice varied menu. Checked out the brunch menu online and it looked like a good thing to try but when we got there it was only a very expensive buffet, you could not order off the menu. I was with my elderly father who uses a walker so would have never opted for a buffet but nothing was mentioned about it being buffet only. Coffee was another $3 on top of the $28 brunch cost. Won't make that mistake again!
I was very disappointed with our Easter brunch at Mad Fox. We used to love this place for dinner and happy hour and were looking forward to trying it out for brunch with our family. Honestly, I was truly embarrassed that I dragged everyone here on Easter and ended up apologizing to my family afterwards. The buffet food was mediocre (bland, various items were undercooked or overcooked) and others just didn't quite make sense (why did the biscuit gravy taste like it was seasoned with taco seasoning?), and many items seemed to be pre-cooked and then just put out on the buffet. Beyond that, the worst part was the service. I understand that servers have less of a job to do when a buffet is offered, but over and over again (half a dozen times, at least) we had to request things from him several times, had to wait forever to receive the items requested, or even had to walk around the restaurant to try to track him down. We were dining early and the restaurant was virtually empty, so he certainly was not busy. The restaurant visit even started off poorly when one of the employees gave me a weird look and questioned me when I requested a high chair for my toddler. My daughter is tall and looks older than what she is, but it still didn't warrant a strange response. Overall, I was just very surprised by everything that occurred on Easter because in the past we've had such a great time at Mad Fox and loved everything about it. We certainly won't be back though.
I invited some friends who have never been to Mad Fox for a special get together since one was from Honduras. Everyone was pleased with their food and beers. Service was very attentive and the beer and food came out fast. Good value and atmosphere.
Disappointing fish tacos. The Atlantic Cod had no real flavor. The cabbage and green onions on top were cut way to large and overpowered everything. The tortilla was store bought and tasteless. The hand cut fries were good but served cold. Not sure if I will go back. The server was very friendly but the food came out cold for all 4 of us.
Great beers and wonderful food.
We held a small group, pre-wedding brunch get together here and everyone in our group (around 10 people) raved about their food. The restaurant was a little slow for 12pm on a Saturday but it worked out well in our favor - we were able to chat without having to shout over others or over music, the staff was attentive to refilling our drinks, and we breezed in and out in a quick time frame.
Always a fun, congenial place to meet for burgers and beer, both of which are high-quality.
The food was very good, both the appetizers and the entrées. The beer selections, taken from the restaurants own brewery, were also very good. I also tried one of their mixed drinks, which was very good. The issues with the evening were two-fold. First, the kitchen delivered the appetizers and the entrées at the same time, although we specifically requested that there be a reasonable time in between. Second, the restaurant was out of two of their beers. Given Mad Fox has either one or two beers on menu matching each of the principal varietals, their being out of two beers significantly limits the scope of available kinds of beer. That might be understandable with other restaurants, but this establishment is a brewery. I would expect them to have better control over supply and availability of their own beer.
St patty's day, noisy and slow...but normal for a popular day like that
St Patrick’s day was loud but still very family-appropriate for dinner.
Great food. Nutty goat cheese salad and scallops rissoto were excellent. Service was a little slow. Had to keep looking for our waiter. Would return for another try.
We are frequent visitors, once or twice a week since 2012. Never had a bad meal. Food is pub like, new ideas get to the menu frequently while the standards, like meat loaf, great burgers, and pizza March on.
Service has always been good and has been even better on the last few visits.
I come for the beer. Every beer is brewed on site so don’t ask for Bud Light, if you believe Bud Light to be beer. 😅
Good hearty food, great beer...open space and great bar atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or drinks!
Great beer selection and food options. We had the calamari, turkey burger, black bean burger, beef burger, and fig pizza. The food was pretty good. Minor differences between menu and food item served. For example, the pineapple on the black bean burger was not grilled, so a bit difficult to eat. Nice neighborhood joint worth a visit.
Nice atmosphere, server, Keith was great! Able to accommodate a larger group for a work dinner. Would recommend!
Good spot for a casual business dinner on a Tuesday night. Not crowded, good beer, good food.
Great beer, food was pretty good. This restaurant specializes in pizza.
Great beer and a wide variety of food. Pizza is decent.. Frickles are A+
Reservation was on time. Sat in the bar area, with TVs. Full bar menu, of course we had flights to try the beer and all were satisfying. Took a growler home of the love is love ipa. One of my top 3 ipa ever had. The food was better then expected as far as breweries go. We got two different pizzas and both were amazing.
Excellent beers and the barley wine was great. Food is always good.
We attend the barleywine festival every year and once again it was great! Awesome selection of beers, nice waiters, tasty food at a reasonable price. Parking garage accommodated the crowd. We recommend this place for any occasion with its great hand crafted beer brewed on premises, patio seating and good food, especially the sandwiches and pizzas.
Food cold when arrived did not have time to send back; poor service
Mad Fox is a good bet when you have kids along - the kids' menu has a good selection and everything comes with ice cream. I wish they would bring back the fried chicken they used to have around 2014 - that was the best thing on their menu.
We come here pretty often, but the wait for our food was absurd (1hr) and it wasn't even busy! Our child's entree came out pretty quickly, but that was long finished before our entrees even showed up. It took 30 minutes for the kid's ice cream to come to our table and it was clear that had been forgotten about when we asked after waiting for 20 minutes. Very disappointing.
Huge place, mostly for beer. Very limited wine selection. Average food for my taste. We had a nice young guy for a server, but he seemed very inexperienced and we waited over 45 minutes for food and we had informed the waiter we were in a hurry, had a show to catch, and the place was not busy when we were there. We had to get a manager to intervene to get us our drinks and food, which the manager did very quickly. Once we got a manager involved, our experience improved. I'm not sure what our waiter's issue was - needed more training, perhaps.
Beer flight was excellent. So many flavorful choices. Great beer menu.
Wings are the best I've had in area.
Epic burger was delicious and different, but hard to eat. Kept on falling apart. Had to use a fork.
This was sixth or seventh visit by group of retired business executives who gather for lunch every quarter. Obviously it is one of our favorite venues, given our frequent visits. We can eat and renew our friendships at a convenient site.
Great beer and food, what a fun meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went for a family get together on a week night. We enjoyed the food and no problems with service. Great place for a gathering
I had made a reservation for 4. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we'd prefer a high top table or a booth. We said either would be fine. When we were seated at the high top table it was really only a table meant for three. It backed up to another table where my back (because I was the fourth person) actually kept hitting the back of the person behind me. I immediately went back to the hostess and asked that we be moved because the seating was too tight. She said we could start our meal there (due to time constraints since we were going to see a show) and she'd move us just as soon as another table opened. That never happened. I am very disappointed in the service and might find other restaurants to try in the area.
Attended their Scottish festival night; very crowded; salmon entree was dry and disappointing. Usually the food is better. I attribute the poorer quality to the crowd that night. Otherwise recommend it. Good bewpub-airy and convivial.
Great food, drink and atmosphere but a little loud.
Food and beer were pretty good. Even with a reservation we still had to wait almost 20 minutes. Several other reservations were waiting too.
The food was good and the selection was what you would expect for this type of restaurant. Beer choices were great. Service was adequate but the front desk was very unorganized, so it was hard to know when you would be seated, even with a reservation.
