Excellent Service. Our server was very sweet, courteous, and very attentive. The portions were hefty and filling. I ordered the filet mignon and the meat was perfect. Soft, buttery, and perfectly cooked. My only critique would be the sauce I chose that accentuated the filet. It was very salty and drowned out the natural taste of the meat. My wife ordered the same filet without the sauce and hers was delicious. I would recommend not selecting the sauce if you order the filet mignon. Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Thank you so much for your kind and honest review. We have passed along your suggestions to our kitchen regarding the sauce. We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

All our food was overcooked. Salmon was dry from being overcooked and fried shrimp was so well done they were almost black.

Atmosphere was amazing. The food was really good. I got shrimp and crab cakes. The shrimp weren’t the best but all else was really good. Would definitely go back!

There is not many nice sit down restaurants in Wallace but Mad Boar is one of them. Our server was timid but very polite. The food was very good, the regular steak was a bit chewy due to being thick. Overall decent priced. Will return.

Enjoyable evening, great service My husband enjoyed "Endless Shrimp Night" at the Mad Boar. The shrimps are big, sweet and hot. Fantastic. Also hit the salad bar, which is vast and fresh. I added salmon to my salad - perfectly cooked and nice flavor (maybe a pinch too much salt for my liking). Our server Erin was delightful - we will ask for her again.

Have been running back and forth between Greenville and New Hanover County for several years and have always wanted to stop at the Mad Boar. Finally did for lunch on the way down: their salad bar along with a side of onion rings. Rings were outstanding/perfect! Will be gravely disappointed if the kitchen is unable to do repeat performances. And the salad bar, there is something for everybody. When fall rolls around, a selection of soup might be nice. Made a reservation for their Sun buffet as part of the trip back. Was not disappointed. Have already recommended to friends. Some have been and have been just as pleased. To kinda paraphrase Arnold, "we'll be back".

Pulled pork was the est I’ve ever tasted. The ambiance could be updated, but the food was great. The coleslaw was also quite good! Everyone in our party thought their food was good. The waitress was slow getting to us. We had to ask for her to come to the table. She seemed inexperienced. We will return when we’re in the area. Open Table reservations were a plus.

This restaurant was very disappointing. $279 for 6 people to eat. 4 Fliets, a rib eye, and a sirloin along with 2 appetizers. Appetizers were really good, but the steaks were horrible. Never seen a tough Filet Mignon, but you can get one here. Also, it was my daughter's birthday. We asked the waitress if she could gather some folks to help sing. She came back 20 min later and said that she couldn't get anyone to come over, but she brought my daughter a birthday cake instead(3 rice crispy treats toothpicked together with chocolate drizzle). Well, 20 min later when I got the almost $300 bill for horrible food, I realized that we also got charged for the birthday treat that we didnt order. I will never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you like steak, Texas Roadhouse is so much better and a lot cheaper.
