Out with friends and found this gem on Open Table. Chose it for location and last minute availability on a busy Saturday night. What a treat! Excellent food. Friendly, fast and efficient service. Reasonable prices. Something for all tastes and budgets when it comes to fine dining. I had the salmon. Enough for two meals - and delicious! Nice ambiance, too. When in the area, we’ll be back!

Restaurant was almost empty when our group of 5 arrived for our 7 pm reservation. It was a rainy Monday evening so perhaps that was the reason.

The fried green tomatoes were great as usual but the normally wonderful deviled eggs were watery and rubbery! Entrees were hit or miss. Pork chop was huge and well seasoned but my chicken was dry and tasteless. The butternut squash “soufflé” on the side was sweet and more reminiscent of dessert. Best item of the night was the bread pudding. Delicious!

Server was friendly but too much so perhaps because there were few other people in the restaurant. When I am trying to enjoy an evening with my family I don’t want to hear about your wife, travels home, hobbies etc. He went on and on. By the end of our meal we wished he would just go away!

This is NOT Southern. And there just aren't enough options. Would have loved a steak but a $40 filet is more than I pay in downtown Nashville at a great restaurant. Very disappoint in a $100 meal for three people. And I only ate a salad!

Bob was our waiter during this visit. He did an excellent job of explaining the entrees and providing great service. We visit Mack and Kate's regularly. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Franklin.

Our waiter and food were great!
We had great manhattans, shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. I had lobster mac and cheese and my wife had shrimp and grits. Both were fantastic! It’s definitely one of our favorite restaurants!

My wife and I were visiting the area. We saw a recommendation for Mac & Kate's so we decided to try it. The food and service were great. We were there relatively early so the restaurant was not full and we enjoyed the relative quiet atmosphere. We highly recommend Mac & Kate's because it was a delightful dining experience!

The website is a lie. It says they have a lunch menu and it was printed on the site. There IS no lunch menu. We arrived and the host/server was seated by the host stand and pointed us to a table. There was only one other table of customers in the entire restaurant. When we were handed menus and they were not lunch menus (it was 12:30 pm) we asked for them. The server/host informed us that "they haven't had lunch menus for MONTHS!" We mentioned that it was printed on the website and his reaction was "she" (no idea who "She" is) said they make more money catering so they aren't going to do a lunch menu anymore. Huh? What does catering have to do with whether there is a lunch menu or not? The server/host was quite rude and didn't seem to care if the website is incorrect, or if we stayed or not. So, we left.

Service was awesome and nice seasonal menus. While searching for the lavatory, I passed by a private room suited for a small group (10-12) as well as another area suitable for a larger party (20-30)

Nice restaurant ambiance. The service was good. However, both my wife and I were quite underwhelmed with the meal vs the cost. It’s almost been a week since we were there and we are still talking to friends on how disappointed we were. I don’t think we will be back especially when there are better options out there.

I have tried many types of meat loaf over the years in many restaurants across this wonderful nation. The meat loaf at Mack and Kate's is delicious. The next time you are in Franklin, TN. drop by this neighborhood restaurant and try their version for dinner.

Stopped in on a whim on a Friday night. What a pleasant surprise. Our meals were both worth returning for. Nice, comfortable room with a small comfortable bar area. Wine list included some you don't often see on wine lists around town. Nice assortment of cocktails as well. Give it a try, you will enjoy it.

We enjoyed the shrimp and grits one evening, especially with the little bits of andouille sausage. The wine list isn't very extensive and they were out of several different varieties. Overall, a good restaurant.

Our waitress was very good and attentive. The mini-muffins were delicious. The traditional breakfast was a disappointment. The eggs were over-easy and I ordered over-medium. Bacon was crisp like I requested which made me happy. My husband said his chicken and waffles were very good. Our party of six was all on 1 ticket which was fine because part of the group just paid my husband toward their meal; however, the gratuity was already added on the ticket and normally a party of 8 is when the gratuity gets added automatically. The homemade raspberry preserves, muffins, bacon, and the coffee were the best parts of my breakfast.
