Chocolate Mini Chimis
Served with vanilla ice cream & chocolate sauce
Everyone liked their food, and we enjoyed the mini-margaritas.
Great place to eat & celebrate a birthday. Will go again.
Great experience with a brand new waitress who was doing a great job. Super attitude, sweet and helpful and admitted if she wasn’t sure about something. Sorry I don’t have her name but she was a doll! Good selection of employees as always good food and delicious margaritas! Olé’ 💃🏼
The food was really tasty. The service was great. My only issue was the lack of a mask by our server. I have no idea if he had been vaccinated. I can only assume. We wore our mask until we were seated. Next time, I’ll ask for a server that will wear one.
It also appeared that half of them did so the establishment may be allowing it up be optional.
I chose mini chimis from happy hour menu & husband had a combo. Food delicious & hot on arrival.
We have always enjoyed Macayo’s food 😋
Alex was a great server. Love the happy hour specials.
Our waitress was wonderful, after we waited 10-15 minutes after being seated. None of the staff seem to be alerted that we had been seated.
Everything good plus, but we sat outside because inside too, too cold. Turn the AC to a more friendly temp
Because last time we went AC was also too cold.
We read the reviews and hope they had worked the kinks out - sure enough, as promised in previous reviews, the sullen hostesses barely acknowledged us and led us to a table that was wet from the misters and didn’t offer to wipe it down. Our waiter tried his best, but had seven tables that we could count, and no bus help. The guy was working hard but did not have any support. Maybe one of the churlish hostesses could help him by getting chips, salsa and waters when they seat people? The food was tasty and served warm. They forgot our appetizers, but quickly removed them from the bill. They need to get it together in order to become a thriving business at this location.
This Macayo's was a big disappointment and did not live up to the standards the brand has maintained for over 75 years in the Valley. The Sonoran Enchilidas were not even a faint resemblance to what the location on North Scottsdale Road used to serve. The enchiladas are best described as soupy and goopy. There was next to no meat in the enchiladas that were supposed to have meat. The service was ok, but the hostess who seated us acted like she was doing us a big favor of seating us at a dimly lit rocking table way in the back even though we had a reservation, This place has the ambience of a autmotive service center with concrete floors and no decorating - a far cry from what we have nbeen accustomed to before with this brand. We will not return to this location and have second thoughts about patronizing any of the other locations.
Our server Dominic was excellent with providing the best service and was very friendly. Would definitely ask for him again if ever possible. The food was also very good and a very good value for all you get for the price. We look forward to going back to this Macayo's as everything was terrific!
Party of 8 for a birthday. We had a great time. Food was good. Love the new location.
Service was mediocre. The seats were wet from the misters when we reached there and we asked the waiting staff to dry it. One person came with a towel and gave it to us rather than drying the chair. Our waitress was pleasant but quite inexperienced
Our first visit to this new location, not first to Macayo’s. Great food and drinks as we remembered.
Don't go! They do not have enough staff. We waited for a lengthy time for everything!
I was disappointed as they were out of shrimp and then I rushed and had a dish that I did not like. But the Margarita was top notch
Once we got past the gatekeepers at check-in, we had a good experience. Food was great, service at our table the same and it was a nice dining experience.
Unfortunately, the hostesses were in over their heads. Had a 5:15 reservation and got seated at 5:35 after i forced the issue. We checked in well before 5:15, but never had our name called. The hostess said she called our name, but we never heard her and we were standing 6 feet from the checkin area the whole time. Plus, she never looked confident fiddling with the seating plan o gram on her tablet. It’s unfortunate that the first point of contact for patrons on this night was someone who couldn't prioritize those with reservations vs walk-ins. Luckily, our experience was good once i decided to seat us.
We had a party of 12 for a family gathering and our server Sam was exceptional ! The food is always great at Macayo’s - but it was even better with Sam’s attentive service.
Good service. Excellent house margaritas. The chips and salsa were very good. The menu had nice and plentiful offerings. Their previous Scottsdale menu had become very limited.
I was pleased to see they had a dog friendly patio to accommodate all the "Velcro" dogs! May try it next time I visit.
Macayo's has always been a family favorite and we are so pleased they have returned to the Scottsdale area.
Great spot- food is great. Service is a little slow- but obvious they are still brand new and training.
Our waitress was very efficient!
Our margaritas weren’t great.
My food came with beef, I ordered chicken….
Another at our table ordered beef but got chicken.
We sent them back to the kitchen, that exchange took time away from our meals ……..
The Baja sauce was not tasty.
We also think the restaurant needs to make the decor more Mexican restaurant style!
We were there at Cocktail time on Friday so it was noisy.Hard surfaces and floors which
doesn't help. The food was was good and service excellent. We always love Macayos.
the green corn tamales are the best.
Great to see them back in Scottsdale, wait staff seemed to still be getting their feet wet.
Great time and our waiter Sam was very nice and funny. We
know that things aren’t running 100% efficient right now, however we were happy with everything and will be back!
I think this location only open a week. I’m sure they will get their rhythm, service was a bit slow with a few hiccups.
