The lobster roll and the stuffed mushrooms are excellent!
The hostess had no personality and is a poor representative of the restaurant. Our waiter Lorenzo was fabulous!!
Looking for the local experience, this is the place! Great food, nice staff, awesome vibe and music, and fun experience!
Excellent venue living up to their past accolades of being one of the best dining experiences in KPT
Drinks appetizers and entrees were delivered in a timely manner. Waiter was professional and helpful. Overall a wonderful dining experience. This is our third time dining here.
A little tight but other than that everything was great. The food and service were outstanding
Everything about it was top notch! The staff is really amazing, professional and soooooooo nice!
Lobster and steamers were scrumptious.Adorable down home place.
Fantastic as always. Steamers are sooo good. The lobster roll was amazing. Cocktails are excellent. Service on point. This place is a must every time we are in Kennebunkport. The food is outstanding and soooo fresh.
Traveled from Ohio and one place we always visit is Mabels, however the signature dish, Lobster Savannah, was not prepared the same as in years past. Disappointing but still good.
We loved the clam chowder and lobster rolls😊
It was a nice place even after they remodeled....But there was a fly problem ...People in the next booth were visibly annoyed by the flies as the flies were attracted to their wall...Better there's then ours....
We were two people. Our pre-dinner drinks came in plastic cups - the surrounding tables all had glass. We both ordered a small house salad to begin. They brought large salads instead (twice the cost). I ordered fried clams ($42, most expensive we’d experienced in Maine) and my wife ordered “The Dutchess”. While we were about one-third finished with our salad, the server brought the main course. We told him we were not ready and he said he would put it under the lamp until we were ready - not good service. We decided to stop eating our salads before we were finished to allow our main courses to be eaten while they were fresh. The clams were mediocre - the clams were not separate; there were breaded globs of clams that needed to be separated. The “Dutchess” was a melange of precooked lobster, shrimp, and scallops that was presented with unseasoned breadcrumbs which resulted in a gooey mass that was unpalatable. It was so unpleasant that she did not finish the dish. In addition, her plate was served with a scoop of plain rice with one half of a cob of boiled corn placed on top of the rice. This side would not be appropriate for any main course, yet was presented with others. We left without finishing our dinner. Service was also unprofessional. We can not recommend this restaurant.
Moderate food best for their lobster, great service by young students, fair ambience.
Food disappointed. Portions were good.Would not return.
Overall food was good. Wine was warm
Great Kennebunkport restaurant. Excellent food and service and reasonably priced.
Great Lobster Rolls (Hot Butter) and French Fries, had numerous Lunches/Dinners there this past week as it was across the street from Hotel we were staying at.
Everything was very good, salads, appetizers.
Food was plentiful. Table for two very small and when food arrived it became too crowded and uncomfortable. The steamers were very gritty. We both left them. Waiter Lorenzo very welcoming and attentive. Parking very difficult. I prefer Nuna over in the Cape. More table room. Parking on site and pricing better overall .
Great server , fab food !!
Fab experience! General Manager seated us. She was lovely. Waiter was delightful. Food was delicious!!!
This is our favorite kick off vacation start and it was the first time in the last decade of visiting we were overall disappointed. Three kids meals and two lobster rolls for $125 and couldn’t get a water refill; the lobster roll flavor was missing as years past and had to load sale and pepper. We were unsure if management had changed but not sure if we will come back. It’s too pricey for a small family special experience to take the chance again.
The food was amazing ! And the service was very accommodating. We moved from the front porch to an inside table due to street noise, heat, and direct sunlight and they helped us with that. Loved the beer on draft, and the scallops in the Duchess entree was my favorite! The blueberry pie with ice ice cream was excellent!
We were driving through for a few hours and they were able to get us in a bit earlier than our original lunch reservation. Our server was super nice and friendly. We were not rushed the the lobster roll was out of this world!!! Thanks!!!
We had a wonderful lunch at Mabel’s- delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere!
The stuffed mushrooms were incredible and are the reason why we gave this 4 stars. Lobster was a tad over cooked but overall it was great.
Lorenzo, our waiter, got my order wrong & forgot to serve me my soup before the entree. Considering that the restaurant wasn’t crowded, there was no reason. He was busy chatting with coworker. Offered to give us free dessert but that didn’t lessen my disappointment. Overrated restaurant. The salad was wilted. Won’t go back.
Delicious and quick service
Fabulous service. Great sides and delicious lobster. Sorry we didn’t have room for dessert!!
These days folks criticize restaurant staff, and service on a regular basis. I believe anyone working now, is someone who wants to work and is trying to make the best of a difficult situation. The good folks at Mabels showed us a wonderful evening! The food was great, the cocktails excellent and the staff, smiling and patient! Good job Mabels! Thank you all for coming to work every day!
Everything was perfect…food, service (Connie) and, also, the hostess who accommodated our request for patio seating. It was a memorable afternoon with friends! We will be back again this week!
lovely spot to relax. a little slow not who cares when you’re chilling next to a little pond with loons.
We were excited to make it back to Mabels. We dined there 4 years ago & we loved it then & loved it now. The food was excellent the service was great. Mabels is high on my list of places to vidit when in Kennebunkport.
The lobster Savanah was amazing.
Thank you for a very enjoyable dining opportunity.
We had a wonderful meal and dining experience. We ordered the grab & avocado melt which arrived with no avocado. Our wonderful waiter more than rectified the situation.
Our only recommendation would be that if you are out of an item, let the customer know before they order or before the meal arrives.
All in all, excellent though, and can't wait to come again.
Service and food was great. We sat outside on a beautiful day and really enjoyed it!
Nick gave us very pleasant and professional service. Crab cakes were good.
Appetizer came out after our main course ( Lobster Cobb Salad).
Also, even though it’s listed on the menu neither one of our salads came with avocado. Pretty disappointing when paying $30 for a salad.
I’ve been before and really enjoy our visit but this time was very different. Not sure what was the issue.
Overall okay. Waiter never brought muffins and cornbread to our table which others had. Asked for “bread” at main course and got bread. Had to ask for butter (for bread and corn). White wine under chilled. Food was okay and ambiance unique and enjoyable. Reserved almost 6 weeks ago and slots seemed tight but restaurant was half-empty. Seemed like plenty of waitstaff, but service did not quite match the numbers. Staff were overall courteous and seemed well-intentioned, but I am just being honest about the anomalies. They were young and perhaps with more experience will gain more savvy.
