Very impressed with the food. I live in Portland OR but will make sure to stop by every time I'm in LA.
amazing food, amazing decor, nice vibe, good service
Absolutely the best restaurant. My husband and I always enjoy coming to ma’am sir. The food is delicious. The staff is amazing. The ambiance is spectacular! What we love about coming here is the passion, love, and culture that is invested in every aspect of the restaurant from the food, to cocktails, and even the generosity of the people who are working here. I truly appreciate all of that.
Great food and great service! I really appreciated the small things such as being asked what the occasion was for our reservation. It was my partner's birthday and I was really happy to just find a simple birthday candle on the banana bibingka when it came out. Thanks, Ma'am Sir!
Very poor quality food. The worst garlic fried rice I have ever had by overpowering of garlic and oil resulted to indigestion, bad garlic breath for days and bad taste in my mouth. The Bangus dish was topped with ketchup not giving the customer the choice to put in a side which impacted the taste of the dish. The adobo lacked flavor or the garlic fried rice masked the flavor. Limited choice of food (did not offer steam plain rice to substitute garlic fried rice) and price point does not align with the quality of food. I will not be coming back in this establishment.
Modern Filipino cooking at its absolute best and an inventive cocktail program to go with it. Absolutely delicious food.
Amazing food and great service!!! A Los Angeles gem!!
We would like to try Filipino food while in California since we live in the east coast where Filipino restaurant is rare....food is serve in good portions, price is affordable, expecting to hear Filipino music but it’s not, place is too warm & no fan so it’s too uncomfortable to enjoy our food....
I wish there were more of us so we could taste more items on the menu. Earl our server was amazing at guiding us through the menu.
First time to Ma'am Sir and loved the sunny, high-ceilinged room, properly enthusiastic staff and interesting (delicious) food.
Between two of us, we split a special fish and cracklings salad (maybe my fave); Ma'am Sir Lumpia (good!); adobo chicken rice (really tasty and G's fave); and the oxtail (also maybe my fave :).
Walked out having spent less than expected. Conveniently, it's in the neighborhood, so we'll definitely be back.
The service was fine. Our waiter was very nice. The waits weren’t terrible. The food was fine, but I just had that it’s definitely been ‘overhyped’ feeling. We ordered several things on the menu. None of the dishes were remarkable. I’m glad we tried it, but I wouldn’t go back again. Not that special. Seems like many people love it tho.
Always the best idea if you want to have some hearty Filipino food, specially if you have friends who are not yet familiar with the cuisine. The service and staff are always great.
A very nice modern take on traditional Filipino food. The menu was imaginative and varied, and many of the choices were very well done. Portion sizes are quite large. The space is lively and full of life, and the overall vibe is pleasant and imaginative. The server was professional, but didn't seem to have much a clue about the broader Filipino culture.
Went to take my best friend out for her birthday. The food calamansi (sparkling) drink was amazing along with the Pandesal with ube butter 🤤
The Bangus (Milkfish) was pretty good, I think next time, I’d like to try their adobo chicken since thats a Filipino staple.
Everything was great. Food was delicious, cocktails good, service was friendly
We went for brunch. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was tasty and well prepared, but the service was slow and disorganized.
Best dinner by far! Compliments to the chef because he did an amazing job!
Terrific food and service! My only complaint was that there was no fan or air conditioning and the place was very hot.
Fried chicken - Amazing!
Pork Belly - Da Bomb!
Lumpia - Deelishus!
You can go wrong with anything on the menu and the drinks are fantastic!
Hats of to Chef Olalia for creating this spirited fooderie!
Going back again and again and again!
Staff was accommodating, even though a couple in our party arrived later. Brunch was good and the combo was good value. The pan de sal and Ube butter was really delicious. Pichi pichi reminds me of holidays, sticky rice and coconut topping. Longaniza had a good combination of sweetness and tartness. I enjoyed the sisig as well. The tocino was not cured consistently. A bit too loud to hear our conversation.
Great food and service. Noise level so loud that you can’t hold a conversation.
Our second visit...and surprisingly even bettee.the second time. Already planning a 3rd trip.
Good food but odd location. Had a transient come up to our table and seat herself before being removed. That was quite the experience.
Really cute place with great ambiance. The was tasty but there aren't many options for vegetarians.
The ambiance was really nice and the food was exceptional.
Quality food, quality service. One of the best Modern Filipino restaurants in L.A. Two thumbs up 😋
Food was all around delicious and we loved the ambiance.
Everything was so delicious! As a second generation Filipino-American, this is how our food should look and taste like!
Ma'am Sir was excellent. It's my friends and my new favorite place. The customer service was great. The place is beautiful and nice. I'm so excited I finally got to go.
I was taking out guests who were from the Phillipines, and I didn't know anything about the cuisine. All of us were delighted with the food, the service and the general friendliness of all staff. At the end of dinner, as we were leaving, the chef came out to greet us, and say he hoped we enjoyed our meal. It was an entirely wonderful experience, and I will certainly go there again. Also, as we left, there were many people outside waiting for their reservations, obviously a very popular place with non-Phillipinos too. A welcome addition to our eating experience in Silverlake.
Great meal - we all loved this place!
Food was delicious and reasonable. I listed that there was a birthday in my reservation and the runner brought out a candle in our dessert without me even having to remind them, which is awesome!
Good for a meet up with friends for a drink, not a good date spot!
The food was good. Will come again and try the other choices in the menu, but I think I will wait until service gets a little better. My only complain is that the service my wife and I got was sub par.
It was our first time and my wife was very excited to try it. We had a reservation at 8:30 pm and we got there earlier than expected. The host was able to sit us earlier since people were not coming to there reservation. Once we were seated, we waited for our waiter for about 15 mins before he came to our table and take our order. We had to ask another waiter to get our waiter because we were for awhile. But what irked me was that before coming to our table, our waiter acknowledge the table next to us first (a group that did not even wait 2 minutes) before he came to us. So imagine waiting 15 minutes and then seeing the waiter acknowledge another table that barely sat down. Luckily the table next to us did not order yet because they were not ready.
It didn't end there, once our waiter took our order, it felt like we waited longer for our food to arrive. It seemed like our waiter did not turn in our food order nor our drink order. Though we order first, the table next to us got there food right away. What gave it away was that they ordered an item that was the same as ours and yet they got theirs first. At this point I was already irritated and called him to check on our food.
I would write more but I am limited so I would end it with this, I would come back, but I would wait until service gets a little better.
this was so good! Great playlist, good vibes, interesting menu options and good pricing. We had dinner for two, with two cocktails each, for less than $120. That's really amazing in LA!
Enjoyed the Filipino fusion food!
Upon arriving for the reservation, we got seated about 10 minutes late. Once seated, we waited another 20 minutes before having to ask for water and to be served. Waited another 7-10 minutes before just leaving the place and going somewhere else for our dinner. We never got to see a server. We weren’t the only ones that were adequately served. The couple next to us was in the middle of talking to the manager about their bad experience as well. I’ve been here once before and loved the food, and was excited to treat my BF out for a dinner date. I understand it was Friday night on the last day of dine LA, but they seemed way too unprepared for the amount of people that were there. Only one person apologized for the delay, and that was the host guy.
Came here for the first time for Dinela. Nice place, interesting food. Some items were better than others. Good: crab fried rice, lemongrass chicken. Meh: lumpia, dessert. The service was a bit slow, and it was pretty humid and hot inside. Hard to enjoy food while you're sweating. Some of the tables have a shared wall, where you're right next to strangers at another table. it's a little awkward. But i'd give it another shot and try some other items.
Wonderful service. Sat at the bar. Great food.
