First off the food is amazing. The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. And the decor and ambiance is great. A definite recommend. The food is truly great. That's all you need to know. Grab a cocktail too and enjoy yourself.
Food was great especially the sisig! Love the ambience too!
Always order the longaniza burger. Even though it's listed as an "appetizer", it is a full on meal that you will not be disappointed by.
Filipino food made fancy! The delicious flavors really brought out real Filipino hospitality comfort style food that brought me back to my roots! Highly recommend!
I'm Filipino so when I say the food is authentic, it is - but Ma'am Sir's take on sisig, lumpia, and tapa is a breath of fresh air. The cuisine is reminiscent of my childhood but given a modern nuance. The calamansi juice is freshly squeezed (try it! so refreshing) and pairs well with most of the offerings. The sisig is crunchy and chewy. The bibingka is infused with salted egg and has a doughy, crispy mouthfeel - it's amazing (my son said it was like a shapeshifting pancake - he couldn't put into words how much he loved it!).
The interiors are lovely - the palm front wallpaper brings you to the tropics (the yellow light fixtures offer a pop of color) - your senses will perk up in anticipation of the food. The black and white photographs of Filipino basketball players from PBA's golden age is a total throwback.
Service was poor tonight (8 pm reservation on March 14, 2019). We have dined here a few times before, and the service was good. The food is still as good as the first time we dined, but the experience was marred by an inattentive server and inexperienced food runner.
The food was CRAZY DELICIOUS!!!! Oxtail was the best dish i've had this past year.
I read in reviews that they have good days and bad days, depending on whether the chef is there. This must have been a bad day (or so I hope). The desserts were good, everything else was overcooked or oily, or bland. A big disappointment, especially since I liked a lot "Rice Bar", the chef's other restaurant.
LOVE this place. The food was great, the servers knowledgeable and friendly. Totally going back. That longanisa burger though...
Exceptional service and atmosphere.
Food and drink were delightful. Beautiful and delicious. The decor is super super cute, it makes you feel like you have left LA. Service was also great. Although the music was an awesome playlist and kept the energy high it was a tad too loud.
Always love the service and the warm and friendly environment Paulina and Charles have created. Food is amazing to boot!
Poor service, underwhelming food. Criminal lack of crispiness with the sweetbreads.
The food was excellent and our host Emma was superior..the music choices was great, it has the 80s and 90s vibe to it 👍👍👍
Really beautiful and fun decor. Loved the service and everything we ordered (mushrooms, broccolini, eggplant) except the crab noodles which tasted too much like Italian pasta with red sauce. Would definitely come back to try more things!
It's a great experience. Staff is universally excellent; food is very good and the cocktails are imaginative and memorable.
Food was just okay. Service is extremely.
Great mix of flavors and just outstanding eggplant and tofu; marinated mushrooms, happy birthday fried chicken and wishing for happy new year marinated pork and chicken barbecue on sticks. Great dessert also of mango terrine.
Just OK! I did not feel that the food was anything special. Lots of better food in LA. Service was great, and great ambiance.
Service was awesome. Had great suggestions on how to combine dishes into one amazing brunch. The food was extremely filling and complex in its flavoring. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. Felt like home!
A unique Filipino restaurant & bar. My wife and I went for the brunch and ordered the Impossible Meats Tapa, Fried Milkfish & the Lumpia with Uni (being the only one its kind). I've had uni before, but my first lumpia with uni. The portions are generous and very tasty. The Pandan Sweet Tea tasted like Panda (thumbs up) and the bibingka has a custard-like texture with banana slices in it. Elsa, our server, is sweet, friendly & very attentive to our needs. She also has a killer smile. We will go back to this place for dinner since they have more food choices during this time.
Absolutely delicious (but not traditional) Filipino food in the heart of Silver Lake And their cocktail menu is on point. Wish I could have tried more of the menu but I can personally vouch for the lechon and garlic rice!
We called to make sure that it would be fine to be 10 minutes late, and the hostess said it would be perfectly fine and that it wouldn't change anything but when we arrived - our table was given up. We waited 20 minutes before sitting. Why does this always happen at places?
Absolutely loved our dining experience at Ma'am Sir! Had waited at least two months to obtain a Friday night reservation and it was worth the wait!
Fantastic flavors, great cocktails and extremely friendly staff! We can't wait to return!
Thanks for a really fun experience!
Filipino fusion comfort food in the Silverlake area.
We were 30mins late but they still seated us. Thanks so much!!
Hangover rice... so so good. The mushrooms were way too vinegary and I like vinegar. The crab noodles were delicious and second best on our ordering. Apparently carbs won the night. I love me some pork belly, but this was not a shining star on the menu. The cocktails were delicious. Not a lot of people know what bitter melon is, so I was surprised to see it in a cocktail. I don't like sweet drinks, but love flavor. This did not disappoint. The music, an eclectic mixture of Led Zeppelin followed by Beauty and the Beast, was blaring a bit too loud so at times the wait staff was difficult to hear. That said, service was wonderful.
Yummy modern filipino food made palatable to non-filipinos
Food is interesting but not mind blowing. Although I enjoyed the dinner with my family, I will not be rushing back anytime soon. The service was great and they are a very nice warm group from the hostess to the waiter!
Service was great - considerate and fast. Food - well just not that into the sweet sour funk of Filipino food I guess. Fish overcooked, curry too sweet, etc. etc.
Service was prompt and the food was delicious!
Ma’am Sir reminds me of the now closed Cendrillon in SoHo. I love that the chef is taking Filipino food mainstream. I hope they stay creative and continue to push boundaries. I am definitely going back because I need to try their cocktails.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We didn't have to wait long for our food even though the rest was quite full already.
Good Filipino inspired food with international twist. The ambiance is great especially for group of friends hanging out over good food & drinks.
Food was good but not great. Nothing stood out as a dish I'd crave enough to bring me back, but the decor and cocktails were nice. Service was friendly and helpful.
I always enjoy Ma'am Sir. Great for just a drink at the bar or two share plates among friends. Servers are great and will help you navigate the menu.
Food is great
A lovely evening full of interesting flavor combinations. First time trying Filipino food. The Longanissa sandwich is a study in perfection and NOT to be missed. The other dishes were hit or miss, but the overall dining experience and service was enjoyable.
Great service, super interesting and expansive menu, awesome wine
Wonderful experience. Will definitely go back.
It's really a delightful place with fun, colorful decor and a wide open, light-filled space. The service was uncommonly friendly, helpful and attentive. The menu includes lots of seemingly interesting, creative dishes, along side old Filipino favorites. We had fried chicken, which was very tasty, but the eggplant and milkfish dishes were frankly pretty bland and unimpressive.
