Easter brunch. The food was original and tasty. Service was attentive but not intrusive (fresh napkins were offered when the server noticed napkins on the floor).
Absolutely a great neighborhood spot! The food was interesting and delicious, and it felt just the right combination of taking themselves seriously as a kitchen but casual enough to be able to go often - which I plan to do!
Lechon undercooked and therefore impossible to eat. Garlic fried rice was barely warm, unbalanced seasoning--Rice-A-roni!? Cucumber pomelo salad was missing pomelo. Carrots in salad had musty taste of refrigerator. Overall, lacking care and refinement. Taste what you're sending out!!
Not really a fan. It's nice that they're trying to make Filipino food healthier but I feel like their dishes are missing an extra pop to catch my attention. Or maybe it's just a tad too healthy. I prefer Big Boi on Sawtelle for healthy Filipino food.
The longganisa slider felt a bit lazy, it was a smushed sausage with pickled carrots but no sauce and it felt just a bit boring. The sea urchin on the lumpia wasn't the best quality. But yah, just wouldn't come here again.
What a wonderful gem....this place fells welcoming with the open window and air flowing through the restaurant....the chatter of conversations were not too noisy on our Sunday brunch affair...our party of 2 sat at the bar and ordered food and a few cocktails....the bartender was amazing....his explained both the drinks as well as the food/menu...our food was delicious..we will be back again...go and experience this spot...it will be a monthly stop..
Definitely going back to ma’am sir! The food and service were both outstanding. We had the bread with ube butter (YUM), three small plates and one large plate, which was the perfect amount of food for three of us — shout-out to our server for helping us navigate the menu. The cocktails and desserts were also delicious. Can’t wait to go again so I can try more!
Very nice dining experience. Went with a large party and the host, Tom, was especially helpful, friendly, and accommodating.
I love Filipino food and it was such a nice homage to meals that I grew up with!
It’s was good overall only thing was service was slow but not horrible and service got better as the night went on.
One of the best Filipino restaurants around LA with a full service bar. Parking can be tricky but worth the effort to dine here. Ambience is natural and chic and a great way to spend a brunch day with friends or a date night with a special someone. The food. Is. Bomb.
Overall underwhelming relative to the positive reviews. Food was alright but mostly seemed rather oily and/or deep fried, but maybe that’s the way most Filipino food is(?). Wait staff said dishes ideal for sharing family style and are medium to large. However, we found the portions small to medium. Furthermore, the entrees are not large enough to share family style. I’d suggest one entree per person and you could share the appetizers (but they are small). Would I make the effort to go back again? No.
I love the food but it was a bit too loud in there.
Great mix of modern and traditional Filipino cuisine. Super cute atmosphere and fun drinks.
Portions were small for the price. Server was spread too thin, forgot our drinks.
Overrated. Basically a ton of greasy rice and meat. Nothing special.
Good comfort food. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and well maintained establishment.
I just had my 2nd trip to Ma'am Sir after trying it during restaraunt week. The menu changed since we last visited but we were not dissapointed. Our waiter gave us great recommendations, never feeling like we were being upsold, but really getting suggestions for our intro to Filipino food. I spotted Chef Charles overseeing the restaraunt and even taking a picture outside with some adoring fans. This is the kind of place you can visit to support young new chefs trying to share their voice! The crispy pork was next level as was the adobo chicken with garlic rice. Can't wait to go back!
It was my wife’s birthday dinner. We’ve been before but it was our kids first time. We all loved it! The services is great and the food is amazing. We will be back.
It was my first time at Ma'am Sir, but it certainly won't be my last! Everything was delicious, from the ceviche, to the milkfish!
FANTASTIC!! The food was more than what I expected. Service by Jewell was top notch. Will be going back soon!
Food and service were very good. If serving is family style, plates and portions need to be large enough for a group to easily share. We ended up needing to split portions that were not easily split, and that was awkward
What I like is the pandesal and the spread. It was yummy and brings back good memory when I was a child having this type of food as our mirienda .
Overall the restaurant was really good but there are not many vegetarian options
Delicious, well-presented food.
Friendly staff, interesting food with delicious cocktails. The sliders and pork belly two ways were the highlight. Love this place.
This place was just phenomenal
This place is a great place to dine and try some very exotic Filipino cuisine. The service is great and the ambiance is good, except for the noise level is much too high. it is very difficult to carry on a conversation.
Lovely new Filipino spot on Sunset! It’s atmosphere totally takes you away from the bustle of LA right outside. It’s cozy and well appointed. The food is knock down delicious from start to finish. The only course I missed was dessert but we were too full by then. Would definitely recommend as the food is accessible to non Filipinos. Kudos to the team!
Beautiful space ~ the wallpaper is everything! We went for happy hour and enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar before sitting down for our delicious meal.
First off the food is amazing. The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. And the decor and ambiance is great. A definite recommend. The food is truly great. That's all you need to know. Grab a cocktail too and enjoy yourself.
Food was great especially the sisig! Love the ambience too!
Always order the longaniza burger. Even though it's listed as an "appetizer", it is a full on meal that you will not be disappointed by.
Filipino food made fancy! The delicious flavors really brought out real Filipino hospitality comfort style food that brought me back to my roots! Highly recommend!
I'm Filipino so when I say the food is authentic, it is - but Ma'am Sir's take on sisig, lumpia, and tapa is a breath of fresh air. The cuisine is reminiscent of my childhood but given a modern nuance. The calamansi juice is freshly squeezed (try it! so refreshing) and pairs well with most of the offerings. The sisig is crunchy and chewy. The bibingka is infused with salted egg and has a doughy, crispy mouthfeel - it's amazing (my son said it was like a shapeshifting pancake - he couldn't put into words how much he loved it!).
The interiors are lovely - the palm front wallpaper brings you to the tropics (the yellow light fixtures offer a pop of color) - your senses will perk up in anticipation of the food. The black and white photographs of Filipino basketball players from PBA's golden age is a total throwback.
Service was poor tonight (8 pm reservation on March 14, 2019). We have dined here a few times before, and the service was good. The food is still as good as the first time we dined, but the experience was marred by an inattentive server and inexperienced food runner.
The food was CRAZY DELICIOUS!!!! Oxtail was the best dish i've had this past year.
I read in reviews that they have good days and bad days, depending on whether the chef is there. This must have been a bad day (or so I hope). The desserts were good, everything else was overcooked or oily, or bland. A big disappointment, especially since I liked a lot "Rice Bar", the chef's other restaurant.
LOVE this place. The food was great, the servers knowledgeable and friendly. Totally going back. That longanisa burger though...
Exceptional service and atmosphere.
Food and drink were delightful. Beautiful and delicious. The decor is super super cute, it makes you feel like you have left LA. Service was also great. Although the music was an awesome playlist and kept the energy high it was a tad too loud.
