My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Ma Maison yesterday. All dishes were delicious, staff were very friendly and sent us Hazelnut creme brulee for the celebration. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful time and we will for sure come again.
Highly recommend this place. Foods great! Authentic, and great prices! You won’t regret it!
Ma Maison is the best restaurant in Boston in my opinion. The food is fabulous, the price point is wonderful for the quality and the service is great!
Wonderful service, atmosphere, and quality of food! We enjoyed celebrating my fiancé’s birthday here—they even brought us complimentary champagne and dessert!
One of the best traditionally French dining experiences in Boston. We have been many times and it is reliably excellent.
I grew up in Lyon, France, and this bistrot reminded me of the fantastic food there...The service was fast and very friendly and it was well priced. This is highly recommended!
We really enjoyed sitting outside and our lunch and wine were lovely.
Another great experience at Ma Maison!
Food was excellent as always. Service was friendly, but we felt forgotten as our main course ended. Our waitress may have had too many tables, including inside and outside. A waiter stepped in to help.
Went on a Saturday night with parents. We had escargots, onion soup, and mussels to start, they were all great with a special honorable mention to the escargots which were my favorite part of the night. After this, we had the duck magret which was a bit of a disappointment, it lacked character and flavor.
Wine, bread, and french fries were all incredible. Dessert (creme Brule) was a big disappointment (cold both inside and outside, very stiff).
I would like to try the duck confit, if it is as dull as the magret, then I'll become a regular but will only order several starters each meal.
The mussels were the best I’ve ever had
Great food. Nice ambiance. We sat outside.
Service was a little slow when you’re outside but polite and friendly.
This is just a phenomenal French restaurant! Each table is partitioned with clear plexiglass walls for COVID compliance and I actually hope they leave them! You can see the entire restaurant but still be private enough for conversation. We were their for lunch for the first time (usually only have been there for dinner) and it was great! We started with the escargot, which is always a must for us. Then we had the eggs benedict with lobster! It was the best I have ever had. Large chunks of lobster in every bite and the eggs were cooked perfectly. They did serve them with french fries rather than home fries which I thought was odd, but a potato is a potato I guess. This restaurant is a must every time we come into Boston!
Very pleasant experience. Service great
IT WAS FABULOUS. WE WILL RETURN!!!
THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE. THE SERVICE IMPECIBLE. AND THE ATMOSPHERE - JUST RIGHT!
Had lunch at Ma Maison with two friends - we sat outside on the Cambridge Street side of the restaurant and the traffic going by was a little noisy - but the deliciously prepared and presented meal along with the friendly service more than made up for that. My friends ordered the "Sweetbreads" which they said were the best they'd ever had in Boston. Very rich, but light at same time. We shared the amazing Pan Seared Foie Gras as an appetizer along with a green salad. The baguette and delicious butter were an added treat. I had the roast salmon, cooked perfectly rare for me, over ratatouille. It was wonderful. For dessert we shared three wonderful pastries: A French shuffle, Creme Brulee and Jacky's incredible The Pistachio Napoleon. Although it was a bit chilly outside, the heaters kept us toasty warm. It was all just a wonderful experience!!
We happened to be outdoors on a windy evening, the only negative. The food and service were outstanding and we look forward to returning soon.
Had been before, but this time tried the lamb chops, which was a Sunday special. Absolutely delicious as always and top notch service. My date had the scallops and loved them. Will be back.
The food came out quickly and each dish we ordered was perfectly seasoned. We ordered a French onion soup, escargot and steak tartare to start. (Even the butter that came out with our bread was incredibly good.)
My husband ordered the special that day: lamb chops in a red wine sauce. I ordered the duck magret (l’orange) and paired it with a cote du rhone that was a perfect complement for the dish. My son ordered the veal chops.
If I had to point anything out, I would have to say my only criticism would be that each of our main entrees were overcooked. We had all asked for medium rare and they came out medium - almost medium well. Normally, my husband & I would have a hard time enjoying the dish because of this but surprisingly, they were truly so well prepared in terms of tenderness and seasoning that my husband & I ended up overlooking the overly done meats. (If done more to the temp we had requested, I can only imagine how even more sublime those dishes would have been!). The sides that accompanied our dishes were also delicious.
Overall, everyone was extremely pleased with their dinners and we definitely plan on coming back again. Service was quick, personable and attentive. A charming little place that felt cozy & welcoming - a little transport back to France.
We enjoyed our meal, the foie gras was the stand out. We ordered oysters as a first course and they came out with our appetizers. Both our appetizers were hot dishes so we ate them first. I would have been better if we had been able to enjoy the oysters first as intended. I was disappointed by the house wine. The chardonnay and cotes du rhone were not very good.
Delicious fish. The steak was cooked more than requested. Nice neighborhood restaurant
The outdoor set up was very nice. Forgot you were eating on Cambridge ST.
We did have an unfortunate experience when a gentleman came in asking us for money and then screaming and yelling when we would not give anything to him. One of the male servers did handle it beautifully
We walked in the rain the short 3 blocks from The Liberty Hotel to Ma Maison to taste if this American French resturant could do as well as a great resturant we visited in Paris twenty years earlier . . and it did.
The onion soup was right out of the French play book, just marvelous albeit a tad sweet. The beet salad was adorned with frisée lettuce to make it special. Our meals came on heated plates to keep the cod and scallop selections warm through the meal. The vegetables were cooked perfectly with a nice combination of carrots, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and green beans which doesn’t sound very remarkable but they were. It was the delicious mushroom sauce that accompanied the cod however that was particularly delicious. The head waiter recommended a $40 French Cabernet which was just fine considering we are California cab fans. Yes, we would recommend.
My close friend and I met for lunch (we are both fully vaccinated)...we ate indoors and tables were appropriately socially distanced with partitions.
Our waiter was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had the house smoked salmon and a green salad with the house dressing, my friend had the salad nicoise with seared (sushi grade) tuna. And of course we both had the French bread.
I highly recommend ma Maison for both lunch and dinner. Truly feels like a French bistro!
Food was delicious and the service was top notch! The outside dinning made it a perfect place! Can’t wait to go back!
The best French restaurant in Boston
Love this place! I will be going here a lot. Best muscles I have had almost any where.
We got there early for our reservation. Lovely outside seating. Delicious food and wine, presented artistically, nice waiters, good service.
Excellent, ln all ways!
Fantastic food and service!
Food and service= amazing! It was perfect for our anniversary dinner! We are going back for sure!
A little Paris in Boston! It was really good experience! We will be back! The lamb chops and the scallops were fantastic.
We love this place, always a great experience, food is excellent and there are always menu offerings I just don't find other places.
The menu is not huge, but both my wife and I found things we wanted, and the food was excellent.
The best of french food with the best of american service. Food was great and the staff was engaging without hovering.
So reliably good! Makes any visit to Mass General a food treat.
Another outstanding meal at Ma Maison. Will go back when in Boston.
